The Blue Danube, while watching 2001. 40+ years later and it still looks good...James Cameron could learn a thing or two. FC

Saeqeh released. Also, for those who may be sitting on the fence about the release of older aircraft (F-111, some of the F-15s), realize that it isn't just that they've been brought up to SF2 Dec 2009 standards. There have been a whole bunch of changes to the aircraft, bug fixes, tweaks, etc. In addition, the F-15 strikers have a brand new cockpit...that alone is worth the download. FC

Again, it would depend on what you want it to do? Being able to carry as many missiles or weapons as a F-15? Same range, etc. Any aircraft that can do that is no longer light. Out turning an F-15 or MiG-29? Sure, but what are you willing to sacrifice...range? Speed? Weapons capability? Being manned? Again, your conditions are vague. FC

Your questions are a bit fraught with pitfalls: 1. 'Light' and 'Ultra Light' are very relative terms. For instance, a F-105 might be considered 'light' against a fighter like the 'Fiddler', but is a heavy aircraft compared to something like the F-104. 2. The term 'best' is too vague and also full of opinions...best turn, speed, radius of action, cost effectiveness? Your questions are interesting for discussion, but don't expect any absolutes. FC

Actually, though there are callouts for the fuel flow needles in the cockpit.ini, they have not been put into the cockpit model yet. They would be in that location otherwise (I think). Remember, the cockpit is Beta (a very nice beta...but still a beta). As far as the blurriness goes, I suspect that may be your settings...it seems nice and clear in the pic. FC Heh...the things that I come up with at 1AM in the morning... FC

Yep, you certainly did my friend. Dave did send me that info and I thought I had included it...correction incoming! FC PS Download page and file release thread updated to include JAT81500's work on the HUD and avionics. Also, JAT is mentioned in the individual aircraft's readmes (E,I,K,S,SG) for avionics work...just forgot to include you in the main readme...my bad!

Yea, that would be my only comment as well. Too bad, because it's pretty interesting otherwise. FC

Is it simply not showing up at all? Unlike the other aircraft, most of the SE's stuff was made in Vista/Win7. A lot of the ini's may have been saved in Unicode, which is unreadable by Gen 1 sims. Otherwise, there isn't that much different between the SE and the other models in terms of one working and one not. FC

Just reinstalled my MW4 plus the BK expansion and Mercs...runs just fine on a Win7 64-bit machine, and even throw in the enbseries mod to boot... Check around, the patches you need are out there. FC

I know all about the Fang. It constantly came up during my researches into the F-5/T-38 series of aircraft, because it tried to be one of the eariler 'smaller, lighter, cheaper' attempts at an aircraft before the F-5. It's not a matter of deservin', it's a matter of interest, talent and time. Still, it would be interesting. FC

It isn't odd, we all had to have figured it sucked being duped like that... Update, TopGun is going to send me the 'splash' screens he made for each of the models (600x600). I'll upload them here as one big file, which all the modders can download and look at. I figure then you can send me the list of which models were yours and the proper credits for each (model, texture), and I'll compile the list with all the info and send it back. FC

Who knew P-3's were so threatening?
FastCargo replied to DWCAce's topic in Military and General Aviation
As far as overflights, they can be perfectly legal if the proper clearances are filed. Just because some yutz on the ground doesn't know about it doesn't mean dick. As long as the respective governments (assuming they aren't at war) know about it through their channels, it's perfectly legal. It's done all the time. And 12 miles is the internationally recognized rule. We are subject to it as well...but we can't do anything legal if Mr. Bear hovers at 12.1 miles off the coast and doesn't do any hostile moves. Back in the day, it was understood that was how the game was played...Eagles intercept Bears, we show them Playboys, they toast us with vodka. We both take some cool pics, then they leave and we go home. FC -
Well, I'm not sure...I don't know how TopGun takes a model and makes those little flc videos the sim uses. Not sure what format he needs...he just got the models from FireFox already in the format he needed. And like I said, I'm not so much worried about new models as just getting proper permissions for the models that were already reversed engineered over. FC
