  1. I very seriously doubt it. Also, I'm pretty sure the patch will do a CRC check and not patch your SF2E install anyway. And besides, why take that risk? FC

  5. You are confusing 'broken' with 'not implemented'. If you look at the history of the TW sim series, CPU, GPU, and DirectX evolution, you can see exactly what happened, and why the newest edition (SF2I) is so much faster than the older versions. FC PS Dave, I know how you feel my friend...

  7. Slightly off topic, but most malware will not let you run most anti viral software once infected. It can get complicated real quick on how to rid your computer of the malware. My opinion only, I've only had a computer infected once with any virus. I pretty much exercised the nuclear option on it and did a complete reformat and reinstall. Others here smarter than me can help you with other options less than that. FC

  12. Hell, I was trying to see if the program would crash, because the values were getting in the absurd range. The aircraft kept accelerating even though the thrust was at zero. It ended up stabilizing at about the Mach number you see there (Mach 1500~). FC
  13. Still working on the FM on this one...trying to figure out how the drag numbers are going into the negative range... Which results in the fast... Very fast... And ludicrous speed... One of these days... FC
  14. What these 2 lines do is create a 'box' defined by 2 coordinates in 3 dimensional space. This box determines: 1. Where the ECM emitter is at. 2. And a 'hitbox' for a gun or missile to destroy. FC

  18. Well, the other problem is that there is actually quite a bit of original stuff that comes from Hollywood, even recently. But no one goes to see it. For instance, a dark comedy called World's Greatest Dad...anyone here heard of it? Did you see it? Raves about it at the Sundance film festival. Or the science fiction movie Sunshine made in 2007. Or the more recent Moon in 2009. Studios have a hard time investing in movies with original concepts anymore because it costs so much to make a movie, especially one with decent effects. Far easier for them to invest in franchises that already have a fan base. FC
  19. I don't know, some of that list...the original source material wasn't that great to begin with...so a remake isn't going to be a whole lot better unless it's completely different. And finally, it's not like a lot of this stuff is Shakespeare anyway... FC
  20. No, the shaders are part of the SF2I engine. Eventually there will be a patch that will bring the other SF2 series sims up to date. However, that will 'break' most of the 3rd party effects in NF4+. If you must run NF4+, use a merged install with SF2I, and just have it point to the NF4+ mod folder when using the SF2I engine. It will probably work, just most of the 3rd party effects will be disabled. FC

  22. Actually, I don't mind remakes as long as they are done well. You can look at BSG, Star Trek, Batman as very successful remakes/reboots. However, for every good remake, there are more than a few that suck...Andromedia Strain comes to mind... FC
  23. I'm assuming that the counters would be a sub hierarchy under WEAPON_STATION_SELECTOR. Are they not showing up at all? Or just not counting? I've noticed some of the counters still don't work (chaff and flare) so maybe they aren't activated yet? FC PS Wait, I just noticed in the F-15C, I used WEAPON_QUANTITY as a 'cover' to 'blank out' a station once the weapons were gone...so it at least works as a LIGHT.
  24. Heck Julhelm, I wish I could have kept up with this thread eariler...could have helped you with that. Did the MFD work for the updated F-15C and learned the hard way about the proper hierarchy. FC
