  1. Hmmm...for some reason, the Wiki entry disappeared. Read these first: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2540395/Longbow_new_members_read_here_.html#Post2540395 Has a couple of links. Also, something new has been added: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2894891/Longbow_2_Windows_Vista_7_Fix_.html#Post2894891 Read and learn. FC
  2. Well, I think even the ThirdWire sims mimic parts of it (side to side, cockpit shake), but don't mimic the linear acceleration parts (up/down/fore/aft). FC
  3. Actually, FSX mimics this already (pretty well I might add). FC
  4. Clarify which sims you have: Digital Integration's Apache Jane's AH-64D Longbow Jane's Longbow 2 If you're trying to get Longbow 2 to run, start here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longbow_2. Near the bottom, there are a few sites (Flyboy's in particular, I don't know if PositiveG's site is still up since he passed away) that has several tips on how to get Longbow 2 running in XP. At one point I had the original Longbow running as well. I seem to remember DI's Apache (and Hind) working right out of the box. Personally, now that EE has a very nice upgraded AH-64 (and Hind), I've abandoned the Longbow series entirely...the work that Arneh has done is nothing short of spectacular. FC
  5. Totally confused...LODs shadow already if you're at 08 patch level or higher. Can you be more specific? FC
  6. Yep, you got it...don't even need a special naming convention or anything. I use the sim included bitmap for my destroyed LODs. Check out the T-38s or F-5B for how I did it. FC
  7. Weird, I have Win 7 64 and haven't seen that issue at all...runs just fine at 1920x1200 with just a bit of 'stretching' for the menus (4:3 menus). FC
  8. The destroyed LODs go into the /Aircraft folder (NOT the individual aircraft folders). Like the old pilots used to be before the Oct 08 patch. Found this out after some trial and error. FC
  9. The gunsight is not part of the model. It works like the HUD. Now, there are clever ways to make a side sight, if you have 3ds MAX. FC
  10. That's correct. Unless the rail is part of the model, you will not see one. There are ways around this of course that involve adding parts either by the Weapon or FakePilot method. FC
  11. Try this. Change: ViewAngles=-90.0,-16.0,0.0 To: ViewAngles=0.0,-16.0,0.0 FC
  12. We refuse to see it for this very reason. The plot from what I have read is EXTREMELY contrived. If you're going to embed your political beliefs in something, at least do a better job than using the film analogue of a 2x4 to do it in. FC
  13. If you can post on a forum, you already have the skill set and time to be able to adapt a 3rd party aircraft for the SF2 series from SF1. The only real excuse you have is not being able to read and understand the english language fluently. Otherwise, all it takes is reading and experimenting. FC
  14. There's definitely something wrong with the position of the F-5B cockpit. It looks like you are about half a meter too far forward. FC
  15. Jedi, Hey, if I sent you a box of 3.5 floppys, could you run them through that machine? I keep thinking even a magnet that can lift cars (like at a junkyard) isn't strong enough... FC
  16. Works fine in Win 7 64-bit Home Premium...don't even have to run it in compatability mode. FC
  17. To be clear, the 32-bit OS was not an issue (ran Vista 32-bit just fine with 3ds Max 9 and the exporter). But there were consistent problems with the 64-bit OS. Not sure what was fixed, but as long as it works, I don't care. FC
  18. Not without a LOT of modifications. FC
  19. For those with 3ds Max 9 (and eariler versions), it was noted in Vista 64-bit that the ThirdWire exporter did not work, requiring either a seperate partition, or doing without 3ds MAX (I believe Zur and Fox Monter both encountered this problem which put a brake on certain projects). This appears to have been fixed in Win7 64-bit. I'm running the 32-bit version of 3ds Max 9 in Win7 64-bit Home Premium, and the exporter works just fine...did the following test: Ignore the skins, still awaiting nicer versions from a fellow modder. Anyway, what you see are exported with and without decals. No issues noted at all. FC
  20. Awesome upgrades...thanks gerwin! FC
  21. Stupidity and stupid decisions are not limited by anything except possibly the laws of physics. FC
  22. I'm pretty sure they are considered equal as long as the progression is logical (ie 0,90,180,270,360) Won't swear to that though. FC
  23. Because the way the Dec 09 patch handles certain TGAs (HUD and AB effects) is slightly different. Learn how the effects are different (recommend extracting the stock F-15A AB effect) and then make the appropriate changes. We learn by doing. FC
  24. Oh, you did NOT just say that on this forum... Next offense will result in revocation of all download privileges! Just kiddin! Hatin' teh l33t txtor speak... FC
