Hey PG_Raptor, I agree with Scout, a match 45 is a great pistol. I'm a little busy over the next few days but I'll pm you some info that may be helpful to you you or I'll just add it to this thread. I would stick with Colt, or maybe a Springfield Armory .45. Here's a few links to check out... There are a lot of options out there. http://www.colt.com/CMCI/Series70.asp http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod-pstl-1911-fs.shtml Personally I prefer the Colts. But some of the newer Springfields look promising. I'm just the keep it simple and solid type. More reliable and less to fail. Check them out and see what you like! Hope this helps, Foo

Heres a pic of my old AR,

Hey Chief, Not bad, $350. Actually the recoil isn't that far of from each other depending on the round used. The 9 travels at a higher feet per second and has higher gas pressures so the recoil is about the same depending on the round. The only other thing that I didn't like about the older versions of the 92 is that if you pulled it on someone they could grab the slide and pull it off the pistol. I'm qual'ed with both the M-16 and the .45, when I qual'ed they were still using the .45. The think I also like about the .45 is you can carry it "Cocked and Locked", just lower the ambidextrous safety and your good to go. One hit and your target IS down. 7 in a Wilson Rogers mag and one in the chamber and 2 extra clips and your'e good to go. Sorta like Ford or Chevy though I guess, I'ts a preference.

I agree, I just took a second look at the pic where it looks like someone shot at it and the pic looks a little fake. Fuzzy too not as clear as the other pics. Foo

Fates, If that had of been me I would have been one pissed off B-52 owner! Could you imagine how much that thing cost? I once bought an A-7E kit from Jet Hangar Hobbies whith a Turbax 1 fan and a K&B engine (this was before they had mini jets for sale) but I never got had the time to build it. Sold the kit and engine but I still have the Fan. If I ever hit the lottery thats what I would do though, build me a nice A-7E with a real mini jet in VA-66 colors. I feel bad for the guy, do you think that someone just really shot it down or was it a stunt? Foo

Hey Chief, I used to own an AR-15 A2 H-Bar with an Aimpoint-2000 dot scope, a stainless Colt 45 Govt. Model and a Mossberg Bullpup Shotgun. When I transferred into the city I had to sell them all because of the gun laws in DC. It was a pre-ban AR too. When I got robbed on the way home from work I wish I still owned and could of been able to carry my .45. That jerk had a snub-nosed .38 revolver ! When I nightstocked at the Safeway in MD. 3 of the nightstockers and I used to go to range in Waldorf and shoot together. Bernie had an HK-93 and Garfield had one those Chinese AK's. I wish I never moved and kept that AR, I loved that .45 too, I've owned a few 9mm and I still believe that anything under .40 cal in a handgun is inadequate for personal defense. Beretta 92 (pc of SH!!), Browning High Power is a nice 9 but I still think the Colt 45 is the way to go in a pistol. Single action, drop that puppy in the mud and it'll still fire, etc. As for the Mossberg, like the Beretta-junk too, and I knew it when I bought it but I was 26 and thought it looked cool. Remington 870p is the way to go there IMHO. Foo. Personally, I'm against gun control and although that joke was fictitious it had it's merits IMO. It's the person not the pu$$y...er, Gun. :D :D :D

Hey Sledge, Thanks, I'll give that a try. I really like the way the Cougar feels and the more I think about it I'm going to keep it. I need to spend some time tweaking everything, Ghostdog mentioned a 6mb software file and I think I might wip out my old version of F4 if I can get my hands on FF3. Thanks for the help, I am mechanically inclined (ex AD) so it shoulfdn't be a problem. Thanks Again, Foofighter.

Hey Scout, You're right, I get'em mixed up sometimes. Who was the guy that was behind the Clinton Budget? I think I might have gotten Rubin mixed up with Reich. Anyway, I'm on my first cup of coffee after I read the news I'll double check it. Foo

Al Franken... :D and Ann Coultier :D ? Jesus, what if they pro-created. LOL! These aren't my picks by the way I just thought it was funny. Sticking with my first post.

I'm gonna cheat on this one ;) , Curtis LeMay as prez and Robert Reich as Vice. One helped create a killer Air Force and the other balanced the budget ! Foo

I think I might know the reason for this but I might be wrong. On a lot of those camera systems you can set whats called a frame rate delay. We have them where I work not only to watch the aisles but also the cashiers. I work for Safeway in DC (it's a grocery store). Our camera's are set up for a 3 second delay to save tape but I do know that you can change th delay from no delay to up to 5 seconds (atleast on our systems). Some of the newer systems save to a harddrive that can be d-loaded to a dvd or cd but I think the videos in question in this thread had similar systems to what we have in the store (video). It's just a thought on this, I might be wrong but that might be why you don't see the plane and just see the explosion, it may have been on a delay. If any of you guys have a chance look at the video again and see if you notice any sort of delay between the frames. That might explain it. Foo

Because she used to hide her spare sets in her wig cases :D ! And that's the truth. One day I wen't looking for a book that she was reading and said I could read it, she kept her books in her closet in her room and I just happened to knock over one of her wig cases and voila, I found the spare keys to her Chevy Impala convertable. She used to carpool and I couldn't resist. Didn't like her Cutlass Supreme. And finally I wrecked her Lincoln. That didn't go over too well. But a year later I bought my first car in 1979, a 1965 Pontiac Bonneville. Talk about a party-mobile. It was a fast "land-yacht" with a chrome and REAL wood trimmed dash, electric windows, etc. I loved that car, sold it when I left for the Nav. Foo

Hey Utley, Check your facts and you forgot China! If the deficit dousn't matter than why are most economists worrying about it, even Greenspan of all people said it's got to stop. Based on what's up there I'd vote for you ! Hey Scout, We had a Ford Fairlane :D , my bicycle tires are wider than the ones that were on that thing :D . Unfortunately I wasn't in my teens yet so I was too young to be able to steal my mom's keys and take it for a test spin like I did all of her other cars as I got older :D :D :D ! Foo

Hey Chief, The First Officer of Flight 77 happened to be a friend of mine. His name is David Charlebois, he went to Embry-Riddle and me being a mechanic we used to talk about planes all the time. He also shopped where I work (I met him there and one day he was in uniform and we just started talking), we used to go get coffee around the corner where I work and talk about a/c, Embry-Riddle, and other things of course when he had the time. Not too many people in DC are into A/C and that's how we became friends. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met and was involved in a lot of community activities. It's a shame when someone like that goes because of what they did. The guy was an all around nice person and I'm not just saying that because of what happened to him. I (including a lot of other people) miss him a lot and everytime I go to the Java house (coffee shop around the corner) I think of him. He just one of the nicest people you would ever have met and he really new his stuff when it came to flying and A/C. All I know is after that day I haven't seen him since. Foofighter.

Hey Chief, You and I haven't been directly invoved in this debate (maybe indirectly ;) ) But Scout and I have been having a good one but I gotta respond to your last post. Heh-Heh! You said, I didn't say Bush wasn't serving his country all I said was: In terms of Bush's speech, no- offense Chief but all the inuendo, bravado, etc. after while can get old after a while. But it wasn't bad either IMHO. And can I say one thing about Kerry, I said this in a previous post, He went over there and fought, saw how f-d up things were over there because of the McNamara's and the politicos controlling it were f-ing it up (which is why we lost) so he changed his mind and went against the war after serving because of what he saw and experienced. He can't be that stupid after all we lost not because of the soldiers, but because of the political interference keeping them back (i.e. Rules of engagement) so he changed his mind and what's wrong with that? Because he knows how this can affect a war and the cost in lives and that's why I think he would make a GREAT Commander in Chief because he was affected by it personally while at war! And I'm sure the first thing he would do (as I would) is sack Rumsfeld. Cheif, take it easy on the move and I don't think it'll take long to sell your house, it looks pretty nice to me so I don't think you'll have a problem selling it. Foo
