Still feeling left out with my rusty old system & ageing software. But there’s a plan to remedy that soon at least. Can't wait! :-) Seems with every update some things a fixed & some things that were working perfectly fine break or get taken away. We can’t win! .lol Uninstalling & going back to August 2011 for now! ;- ) In hindsight, it would probably have best to test new updates on a separate install or make a backup of my main ThirdWire folder at least. Here go’s the next hour or so installing 4 Titles, 2 Expansion packs, 3 DLC’s & not to mention the updates. I should have learned my lesson by now!!!!

Is it just me or are the NOISENORMAL & WATERNORMAL not being displayed after applying the Sep 2011 update? With graphics set to Unlimited I have no bumps on my ground texture & my rivers & sea are motionless!! This may be the effect of me being one of the only losers still using Windows XP & DX9? Has anyone else noticed this? Another minor issue is that if I select a different skin for each aircraft in my flight. The patch displayed is always the last colour scheme I’ve selected & wont change when I select the previous or the next aircraft. Any idears? Thanks SF Complete Merged install Windows XP DX9 Graphics Unlimited Clean ( NO MODS)

View File F-16 Netz “Desert Viper” F-16 Netz “Desert Viper” ------------------------ Requires: SF2 Israel!! ---------------------- A fictional 2 tone Desert skin for the Third Wire F-16. I’ve based it on the original Israeli camouflage scheme & have unofficially assigned to Israel’s 116 (Flying Wing Squadron) However it could make a great mercenary skin or as a fun addition to those “Special Ops” for an air force & squadron of your own. This is my first attempt at skinning the Netz & decided to keep it simple. When time allows I’ll try something a little more authentic & perhaps a little different next time. Notably, it may not be as good as those masterpieces that you are used to but I hope you have fun with it anyway. Enjoy :- ) SF Installation: ____________ Unzip & place in your Strike Fighters 2 “Mods” folder. Credits: _______ Third Wire: - for the original artwork. I thought I would raise this question again seeing as there seems to be a “F-16 fever” in air lately, with some fantastic mods & artwork being done! I’ve had several attempts at tracing my own but with work consuming most of my time & lack of any artistic skill, the results have been diabolical so far. Is / if there anyone currently working some temples or perhaps have a set stashed away in a secret place on there hard drive that could be persuaded to release them? Thanks so much. SF

Well thanks to ravenclaw_007, I’ve got the pods added to my TW F-16. Favouring the TW model over the TMF model & seeing as we are not all‘rivet counters’ here I’ve added the Bird-Slicers too. It works quite well I think! SF upload gif png upload -

Here’s a odd one?

Problem Solved! My apologies! I should have deleted my entire mods folder before testing!!! Seems I was running the old Data.ini files that I had saved with the Canopy animations added. Latest Data files extracted with the animation entry’s added & all is back to normal now. SF -
Thanks, I'll give this a try. There will be a new patch out soon the will address the “terrain fade distance limitation” . Whether it will included measures to address the decal problems that some of us are having is unknown. TK & Third Wire have been made aware of the problem at least. No fixes per say but you can work around the problem of some missing decal issues by deleting the unused decal entry’s for the offending aircraft. E.G: For the F-16, removing entry’s [Decal005] to [Decal008] in the decals.ini fixes the problem of the squadron markings & numbering not showing up. The missing drop tank skin problem can be fixed by extracting them & placing them in the mods folder. We shouldn’t have to do all this especially seeing that this problem didn’t exist until the latest patch but at least we’ve got some sort of a work around at least. Though this seems to be a minority problem that only a few are experiencing, lets hope TK remember us us & includes a few changes that allow things to work as they used to in the next patch. It’s a long shot but fingers crossed. SF

Loving the lines of the Kfir TC7. I'm really enjoying this bird. The beautiful F-15A Baz............... -
Currently merged but I have tested it by installing SF2 Israel on its own & patching it up to May2011. The decals were missing with both installs. Least you have decals.;-) Somthing would be a start for me. What patch are you both using? I’m convinced the May 2011 patch for all installs except Exp Pack 2 is breaking something. SF

Thanks 4 testing Thudgriffon. I'm having a problem with all the squadrons. This is my Readme: "This update is for any install of Strike Fighters 2 without the Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2 installed. If you have Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2 installed, please use update for Strike Fighters 2 Expansion Pack 2 instead." Guys there are 2 patches! - Strike Fighters 2 Exp Pack 2 May 2011 Update (391 MB) - Strike Fighters 2 series May 2011 Update (440 MB) <------------ This is my patch as I don't have Exp2. It seems the Exp pack 2 patch is working fine. What I need is somebody to test the other patch. Strike Fighters 2 series May 2011 Update (440 MB) with SF2 Israel at lest. Thanks again for you time guys. SF

Thanks for taking the time to check out my decal problem PureBlue. :) I only have a problem with some of the squadron insignia & numbering not showing. The rest, national markings & so on seem to be displaying ok. Seems the bulk of the aircraft I am having trouble with are the Israel aircraft or the decals packed away in ObjectData019.cat But I have noticed some missing on USN USMC Phantoms too. Patched up to Jun2010 as I have been since its release I’ve never had any problems & the stock decals have always shown correctly. Its only since the May2011 patch some have disappeared. Seems most people have Expiation pack 2 installed. Could be “the non Exp pack “ patch that’s broken? If possible could somebody Not using Expansion Pack 2 run a test & check if the squadron marking show up on the F-16 Netz or any others for that mater? Thanks so much for your time everyone. SF

Hi there, its me again. Im still getting no squadron decals & numbering for some aircraft! - Downloaded the May 2011 patch for the third time just to make sure it hadn’t got corrupted some how during the download. - Reinstalled my entire SF2 collection “Merged” & experimented with SF2 Israel as stand alone. - Experimented with the “DecalNumberRandomize=TRUE” entry, setting it to FALSE - Extracted ObjectData019 to check that they are all there & they are. (seems this entire file is not being read) - Tried putting the extracted decals in to my mods folder to see if the game will read them that way but I still get a blank tail. Dose anybody have any other suggestions? This is starting to really get me down! :- ( Please, please could somebody check if there decals are showing up on the SF2 I F-16 Netz? Am I the only 1 with this problem? Thanks SF SF2_update_May2011 (not the one for Expansion Pack 2) Tested with SF2 I Merged & stand alone. Windows XP DirectX 9c
