  1. absolutely correct. In fact I will say that it is ALWAYS how fast you yank the stick, not how far. same thing in a car. trying going down the freeway at 80 and taking the exit at the last second by "yanking" the wheel in a microsecond and count how many times your car rolls........... I lost several friends over the years when their aircraft came apart in flight due to overstress loads.
  2. should work if you change your wingman aircraft type on the loadout page.
  3. two problems. 1. you have to build a mission, the create mission function only selects cargo ships and tankers. so......... change the warship data_ini file role to cargo ship. I haven't seen that actually work, yet, but in theory.... 2. build a mission using the KMD mission editor. There are a couple already posted in the mission file section of this site. 3. a lot of the ships available won't work anyway because they were built before a later mod. only some of the more recent ones will work. I am going to work on some carrier mission packs that will include some anti-warship missions when I get some time.
  4. I'll check that, thanks for the tip.
  5. huh? meaning you landed with flaps set for takeoff? then went low in close with results something like this?
  6. even in a real prop you'd likely either stall the plane or rip the wings off if you yanked too hard. good luck!
  7. quite a difference. that was a little before my time..... So where is the F3D hiding for download?
  8. an F-3H you can get over at Column 5's site.
  9. you're probably yanking the stick too far, just a guess. Try setting the G force reality in the game play menu for easy and then work it up to hard a mission at a time. its actually pretty realistic. If you yank the stick back too hard while doing, say, 600kts - you're likely to leave the wings behind on many aircraft.
  10. is that like the Ides of March?
  11. yep, you've got it. But the campaign ini files include two files. change the aircraft type in both.
  12. Anyone want some F-18G pictures to work on? and some additional missile rail details
  13. actually you can. If you are flying a mission using an aircraft that needs to have a pod loaded, you can load the pod on any OTHER aircraft in the flight and you can drop the LGB. Or the reverse. Works great. but if you meant having a FAC do the lasing, you are quite right.
  14. it is. On a later tour when I was on the 6th Fleet Staff, we rode the Iowa for a few months as our flagship. I still have a piece of the teak deck with a plaque on it from that tour. You haven't lived until you stand on the bridge during a 16" gun shoot!!! Real Artillery is 16"
  15. i will do that. I operated off of Libya for several years during two tours in 6th Fleet and had a real "exciting" watch one morning on the 4th of Jan 89. Your package was definitely bringing back both memories and a few nightmares. but it will be a few weeks before I can spend the time to build, debug and release some Typhoid Mission Packs. I will take this as permission to borrow and modify with full appropriate credits for an outstanding example of a mission pack.
  16. it is quite incredible to see the depths of journalistic nonsense that the former Aviation Leak had fallen to. Next they will print a story unmasking the secret Halyburton mining site on Mars that is causing Martian Global Warming and the melting of the Martian Icecaps........
  17. one method I've found that works is to change an existing squadron to whatever you want. There are two ini files for the campaigns, change one of the squadron types in both files to whatever you want to fly. Be sure the aircraft that you are adding is flyable in the time period of the campaign!
  18. yup. its only the F-14A done previously with some capability and engine changes to account for the additional stuff. It in no way is a new 3d model. There are some in the works over at the MF which will replace the one I've uploaded when they come out. great work!! You're way ahead of what little I can do with this stuff. I like the greasy paw prints. As an old squadron maintenance officer, I appreciate the realism you have here. Last Tomcat Cruise photo attached along with a shot from my last cruise
  19. thank you for your service, shipmate! Best of luck you to. Hope you understand that I pray both for your safe return and that you don't have occasion to meet my son......
  20. awesome, need a test pilot?
  21. you're deployed? where at and doing what, shipmate?
  22. in this century, yes. Should be able to.
  23. its already in the weapons pack, but you do have to be flying in the time period that it became available, i.e., in the 21st Century. Fly the F-23 in 2010 and you can drop JDAMs all over.
