    SF2 WW2 ETO Hawker Typhoon Mk.1B (DAT) = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!) **This mod -MAY- work in 1stGen game installs. But this has not/cannot be tested by me.** This pak contains mods for the Dev A-Teams Hawker Typhoon IB as seen in the ETO This is a semi-complete aircraft mod, and as per DAT directives, the aircraft lod is =NOT= included. So, those users that cannot access the DAT downloads, you're advised to skip this, as it's of no use to you. Everything else is included (pretty much!). Those users with access, =WILL= be transfering the lod from a seperate DAT download of the Hawker Typhoon IB. This mod has been built and tested with the... Typhoon-R11.lod (dated 8/3/2005 from their WW2 Aircraft Downloads section. This pacakge contains the (almost) complete aircraft, and two skins. You'll have: No. 175 Squadron (code HH) No. 609 Squadron "West Riding" (code PR) The skins are completly new, from my Home Grown Template ™, and remains in bmp format. New decals were created for Squadron Code letters, serials, plane-in-group letters and others. The serials are pooled, and are 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular aircraft within the unit(s) depicted, but ARE for the model variant represented. Colors are FS matched as close as possible. When possible, the Squadron Crest is used for the 'paint chip' on the loadout screen. All fuselage markings are decals (wing roundels remain painted on); this will allow super easy creation of other squadrons by simply creating a new SCode or **(2letter) decal, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. My 1stGen original "Box Art" style Hangar and/or Loading screens have been rebuilt to SF2-spec for this package. They are in jpg format. Damage textures are new, in DDS format. Also included, is a new drop tank, by Raven, with a built in pylon (as it's missing from the aircraft model itself). See Notes for more on loadouts. The rockets and guns you should already have, so they are NOT included. The canopy has been switched to the Standare Manual Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0. The FM may need further small adjustments (ok, maybe more than a little...). As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! All the original DAT readmes are included, for historical and ownership/copyright purposes.     well said PR!! as one of the main modders in the SF2 series, I can certainly state that PR has hit the nail on the head. More gets borked than gets fixed. While FE is a 'causal diversion for me', it work great as is. there's an old Jewish saying that applies here "if it works, don't fix it"

  5. think i'll wait just little bit ... got too many installs to mess around with; expeically all my WW2 mods folders--got 'em right where/how I like em
  6. knowing how to read the OUT is very important!! not only does it give the mesh names, but how the parent meshs attach and/or effect child meshes (and verse vicea) have that single file has saved HUNDREDS of hours in decaling, ini modding, etc (expecially when moving/hiding aircraft and cockpit parts)
  7. oh yeah!! that's a HELL of a lot better than the m-60 shape we had before! this'll come in handy for the FE/FE2 guys as well thanks Raven!!
  8. np, brudda!! even found a little time to "fix" their CAF P-43, too. Finally get to use my chinese af serial decals!! better cockpit. had to redraw the panel and rivet lines and paint over the NC star (never carried on AVG/CAF/CATF a/c) Bunches of small tweeks, not the least of which is swapping ou the pit for something that fits better, and is Republic built! maybe next week for this one ... got too many irons in the damn fire!!

  13. iirc, the lod uses a self illuminating tga (physically built in) you may have to do like dtmd said, and remove/hide those nodes

And I"m sure I uploaded them!! edit: looks like I never did!! the templage is only for the _3 and _6 skin maps, as the rest is the same as the A-6E (which should be up there too...I'll have to go back and look again) I'll get the 2 psds up later today

  17. done in the terrain _Types.ini there are statements for destroyed models, destroyed effect and percentages of said effect. I always raise mine to 100% unfortunately, a great deal of the terrain objects DON't have a destroyed model called out, low percentages and/or wrong destroyed effect (example below is a fuel tank taht does) [TargetType009] Name=fueltank1 FullName=Fuel Tank ModelName=fueltank1.lod TargetType=FUEL_STORAGE ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=200 UseGroundObject=FALSE DamagePoint=0.010 ArmorValue=0.0 ArmorType=0 RepairRate=0.555 StartDetectChance=0 StartIdentifiedChance=0 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=0 MaxVisibleDist=8000.0 DamagedModel= DestroyedEffect=LargeBombEffect DestroyedModel=fueltank1_destroyed.lod SecondaryChance=100 SecondaryEffect=MediumOilFireEffect so, one would need to go line by line through all the types inis (and I do this ALL the frakking time!!), and make the corrections
  18. and at some point, just plane jane SF2, as the desert terrain (mainly it's cataloge file, aka "cat") is needed for a buttload of the add on terrains

A FUll 5 Merged install is required, due to the use of SF2NA statements in the data ini, pertaining to Naval Search and Naval Strike.** This is a Re-release of the Veltro2k's WW2 PBY-5A Catalina flying boat patrol bomber aircraft. While the Game Engine ™ dosent support amphidexterious operations off water, the wing floats extend/retract with the H (arrestor hook) key. This pack contains just the single skin, USN42. This is a rather 'generic' skin, and represents USN VP squadrons from approximately May 1942, when the red ball and rudder stripes were removed. This also -more or less- coincides with the the arrival in greater strentgh in squadron service, of the -5A amphibibian version (which this is), replacing the -4 and -5 seaplane only variant. Other skins ARE needed; the template for this aircraft should be available still in the SF/Wo* 1stGen downloads section. If not, I'll upload my copy. (we could use RNFAA, RNZAF, USN 3-tone and overall Black for the "Black Cats") As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!!   22. 1) first and foremost, you cannot have a full 5 merged install withOUT SF2NA. it's the #5 game 2) what OS? it's possible, if not on win7, that these "late model" lods can't generate the full aircrft (doubtfull though) 3) i'd say running out of texture memory, but if all others work, that's out i notice shadows are not turned on in you're screenies. the other, how many decals are on those meshes? it's possible the 4 max has been exceeded; causing the mesh to vanish

  24. won't make a difference; the tops in-game are "homing missiles" for procedures, that's covered in the readme for the Bristol Beaufort mod I uploaded a few weeks ago...
  25. don't forget, though, in game, it's a 'sea skimming missle' at 0 altitude (it never really enters the water). The real life stuff just can't be modled in this series. as for "looking right", man, I'm ALL for that!!
