  1. fixed the double post --------------------------- I don't know, I use the ones I made. SF2 has completely different "hot spots" for mouse cllicking. So, odds are, the SF/Wo* ones may not work as advertised.
  2. they're prolly working on the servers; I guess we just be paitent till they're done
  3. ed: yes, indeed! how true! wilches: you're forgetting one major thing... Destroyer crews did NOT sit side-by-side up front. The pilot was all by hisself, offset to the left as shown. Just like it's Navy brother, the Skywarrior. The right side was taken up by 'black boxes and electrircal panels. Hence, the use of the slightly less inaccurate Phatnom pit
  4. maybe instead of Bull for the NATO code name, it was "Durante"??? -- the only thing I can think of, Martin, is what pain painting on the passanger windows would be!!
  5. sometimes, a simple "Guys, be paitent" response from TK would be enough. At least to reassure us
  6. one can also do it this way: FastPropNodeName=xPropellerC
  7. well, do YOU have the correct lod someplace?? Cause I sure don't!! cause the correct lod with 6-3, and slats don't exist. We use what's available the fences were a 'left over", a simple text edit will remove them: find the SystemName= Fence1 Fence2, and delete them. the fences will magicly vanish!
  8. File Name: SF2 Korean War Era A-26B Invader Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 30 November 2012 File Category: Other SF2 Korean War Era A-26B Invader Pak = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *Note: This mod will most likely =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at any patch level, due usage of the latest TW Exporter, and DDS format skins. End Users ™ that attempt it, do so at their own risk. A Full 5 Merged install is reccomened at the LATEST patch level.* *Note: this aircraft =WILL= replace any other A/B-26B Invader you may (or may not) have. It's HIGHLY advisable you delete said aircraft and decals from your game install* *Note: (again!) In 1947, the "A" for "Attack" designation was removed from use, and the A-26 Invader renamed to B-26 Invader (for Light Bomber Squadrons). Also, with the retirement of the Martin B-26 Marauder after WW2, the name was "open for reuse". To that end, the displayed name on the Single Mission screen will read "A-26B Invader (B-26B)". The skins represent aircraft from the 13th BS, 3rd BG, as seen in Korea. Aircraft are finished in 'Night Intruder Black". Serial numbers and nose are are 98.6% historically correct; nose arts are matched to the aircraft's serial and ID Letter, via exhaustive research (oh, boy it was!). Weapons are NOT included; they can be found in the KAW Weapons Pak. However, the 'para-illuminator flare pod' is, for those pesky night interdiction mission. In fact, just as a CYA measure, my /Effect folder is included (which is also available in one of the KAW Mod Paks -forget which one, exactly!) Pilot figures, sounds are included, as is a SF2-style version of the my original "Box Art" Hangar screen. A Userlist.ini was also created. The canopy opens with the Standard Animation Keystroke ™, Shift/0. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein -for the KAW Team- **Parentel Advisory: Many (ok, more than a lot) of the nose art decals depict the unclothed female form. If you find nudiditity offensive, seek medical help immeaditly, if not sooner. This mod is rated PG-13** Click here to download this file
  9. SF2 F-86F-40 Sabre Remod Pak

    Version

    617 downloads

SF2 F-86F-40 Sabre Remod Pak = For SF2 ONLY, Full-4/5 Merged (Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) = A remod/compliation of several F-86F Skin/Ini paks, now fully compliant with SF2. If you have the originals, you'll probably want to delete them, as THIS pack is designed to FULLY replace it. It is also suggested you be at the latest patch level, due to some ini 'switches' used. This pak contains the following skin/decal sets: JASDF: 1 Kokutai 3 Kokutai 6 Kokutai 8 Kokutai Imperial Iranian AF Ethiopian AF 461st FDS, 50th FBW, USAFE 1956-ish (*note: in RL, was possbily -30 or -35) and an extra 'blank' natural metal skin, that you can use for whatever. Included: NEW SF2 compliant FM (from KAW) New 'sabre specific' HVAR A-G rocket (station specific coded) NEW cockpit (from the KAW F-86F) NEW Sounds (from KAW) 'fake pilot' wing fences tweeks by Crusader for the KAW Sabres (well done Otto!!) All skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. The loadout ini uses the Year and Nation specific loadout switches for some of the export users, as defined in the enclosed Userlist.ini. Damage textures are the same DDS units as seen with the KAW Sabres. Other than the 'new' rocket, no other weapons are included, excepting the drop tank. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet semi-detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, please give the "Notes" section a read too. Happy Hunting! wrench kevin stein with thanks to PauloPanz for motivating me to finally finish this!!
  10. the US Navy did have a few B-29s
  11. iirc, MontyCZ still may have the original MAX files. also, weren't there real martime patrol/crisie missile carrier versions of the Bull?? I' KNOW I've seen pictures of them somewhere...maybe in one of Yefrim Gordon's books there's no real reason WHY the soviet airforce (ok, Tupolev) wouldn't have created a transport version. I point you to the Boeing 337 -- a civilian direviative of the B-29/B-50; and served the USAF for a long time as the KC/C-97.
  12. that's just damn weird!! talking about PIA truck routes, the ones on Korea were a frakking nightmare, as was the Iran/Iraq map!! The truck 'more or less' follow the roads ... the twisty mountain roads in Korea took about 1/2 a day, each. Iraq was easier, as I cheated when lying down the road tiles .. kept them as straight as I could. YOu all think targeting a map is hard ... laying out routes is just as difficult. Shipping is a bit easier ... you 'cheats' .. and keep the start/end point just offshore, and barely within range of land-based AD units (read: SAMs)
  13. Isn't GCE a "LimitedNations=TRUE" terrain? With USNavy NOT on the list of allowed nations? Try it with a Hun or Rhino, and see what happens ain't laying out truck routes a bitch?
  14. I think those Bulls are pretty damn slick!! ---------- curse you Paulo!!! Made me stop everything, and contiune remoding the -40 Sabres!!! Only 1, maybe 2 skin tails to redo....and minor tweeking. Still debating on the 1 Ala EDA skin.... 1 Kokutai over the frozen landscape of Kamchatka...
  15. well, the Paki and KAW sabres are 2048 jpgs... of course, we used ravenclaw's template. we just have to ask him nicely, methinks!
  16. i've been slowly reworking some fo the JASDF ones, but they're way donw o the list... was even trying to redo MY original EDA one, but can't get the cross right (Maclena told me so!! ). I"m sssooooooooooooooooooo far behind on my terrain works, and right now building the skin for Veltro's B-17F. plus all the WW2 aircraft remods.... But, someday soon! (with Fubars FM, too!) those new skins, while nice, really suffer from not having Volker's Hi-Rez template to build from. maybe we should ask Volker about that....?????
  17. i'll never download these...seriorsly, they're just too NICE LOOKING to shoot at the bad guys! OUTSTANDING work, man, really!!!
  18. That's not exactly true, Ed. Originally pioneered by ArmorDave, on the very first F-16s release a thousand years or so ago. I'd suggest looking at the Phantom Pit I used for the B-66. MASSIVE amounts of moves, use of "open cockpit' statment and lots of other unique things... Now mind you, it does use the 1stGen lod, which is stll accesable (and the SF2 lods DO use the same mesh names, btw). It it doable, via 'smoke and mirrors'
  19. How much work would it be to add a box, as shown below, to the Late WW2 cockpit 2, and a small screen (scope) posttioned, and few knobs? Bascially, adding a radar scope. It could even be bigger than my crappy drawing, just need room at the bottom for a couple of fake knobs TIA!!
  20. P-61

no oxy bottles, stored in the booms aft of the wings for all crew members. The only AAF aircraft during the war that was pressurized was the B-29. And it still had regular bottles, as the aircraft was de-pressurezed before entering the combat zones. why use so small a font, it's like you're whispering!!!
  21. they're called "frames" or supports. The reason you don't see them from the outside, is the cockpit is a seperate LOD from the aircraft's LOD. They're not associated with each other, per se. ============ if you use the 'move mesh trick' cockpit ini edits -and one needs to know EXACTLY which meshes are specfified*-, you'll leave huge gaps in the windshield, as that framing "supports" the canopy glass tga called for in the cockpit.lod perhaps if we knew which aircraft you're working on, suggestions for other cockpits could be made as to the textures "looking bad", well, that's really a fairly simple matter of repainting the existing ones. Just like doing an aircraft skin, you create a layered template and paint what you want. Out of curiosity, which "edited" cockpit ini are we talking about? I've "moved" lots of things for lots of cockpits -- *and as we no longer have access to ANY lods, its a moot point. unless one has access to 1stGen lods, or prelocked SF2 lods, and can use a hex editor ps: your english is quite good!
  22. we can 'make do' with a very simple mod like shown above. building an entire twin-engine cockpit, let alone one with radar, is simply too much to ask. shoot, I'd even given thought of using an excessively modded Phantom pit, as I know (or can figure out) which meshes to move. but converting the jet gauges to prop is a little more than I want to do (given the aircraft and TERRAINS I'm supposed to be working on! )
