SF2 WW2 C-47 Skytrain -- Something for the WW2 players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged -PLUS- SF2I Expansion Pak 1 Required!!! = *Note: you MUST have SF2I Expansion Pak 1 to gain access to the C-47A to add the mod to. If you do not meet the requirement, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS MOD, as you'll be unable to use it.* A quickie redecaling of the 3W Skytrain to represent Early WW2 C-47s in use pretty much anywhere in the world. It uses the stock OD skin, with the Round Star (no meatball, no bars) as seen from May 1942 through September(ish) 1943. 12 serial number decals are included; these ARE actual C-47A serials from the correct timeframe. Also included is Kesselbrut's cockpit*, for those that haven't made it flyable, and a new engine sound, of an actual C-47. The userlist ini also included, adding Australia as a new nation; a WW2 RAAF skin is in the works. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. This will look quite good sitting parked around you WW2 airfields! *Note: although a cockpit is supplied, it is reccomended to leave the aircraft under AI control. There is very little actual use for transport aircraft in game, at the moment, other than as eye candy. Happy Landings! wrench kevin stein
  2. File Name: SF2 WW2 PTO Ki-43 Oscar by ArmorDave File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 20 September 2012 File Category: Other SF2 WW2 PTO Ki-43 Oscar by ArmorDave -- Something for the PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a distinct possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.* This is an SF2 version of my 1stGen "AD Oscar Update Pak". I'd forgotten to upload it (what with all the personal computer drama lately...and still ongoing...) so here it is now. Unlike the original SF/Wo* pak, I've created all 3 skins for the 11 Sentai; each of the 3 Chutai are represented by different color lightning bolt on the tail. The other skin included is 1 Sentai, 3 Chutai, iirc, from the CBI region. All skins are jpg, and as these Sentai used no individual aircraft numbers, the only marking are the tail decals (for 11 Sentai) As expected, it has a semi-compliant SF2 Flight Models, but they do need further fine tuning by experts. To diferentiate it from the Wolf Oscar, in-game you'll see the displayed name: Ki-43-Ia "Oscar" (AD) As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Remember -- these are very old models, so they "are as they is". All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. 3. File Name: SF2 WW2 PTO A-24 Banshee File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 20 September 2012 File Category: SBD / TBD / TBF / SB2C SF2 WW2 A-24 Banshee (USAAF Dauntless) -- Something for the PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a possibility that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs, due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment.* This is a SF2 version of my eariler 1stGen A-24 Dauntless; like the recently rereleased SBDs, it has a (semi)complitant SF2 FM, and may need further adjusting by experts. It represents aircraft as used by the 8th Bombardment Squadron (Dive) in New Guinea in mid 1942. These aircraft had a very short operational career in combat (read: disastrous). Most later variants were regulated to Stateside training squadrons. The skin is in jpg format; decal randomization is set to TRUE. Serial numbers are correct for this model Banshee, as I was not able to run down exact usage for this squadron. It also uses the original Wolf cockpit, as these are the equlivant of SBD-3, with the telescopic sight (ring-and-bead used here). The 'fakepilot method' (patentpending) is used to add the 2 wing station pylons. This tweek can also be used on the recently released SBD Dauntless pak, if one has the ini editing skills As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All readmes from the original releases, are included where discoverable from the archives. Remember, also, this is a very old model, and like all the others, "it is as it is". 5. it automaticly retracts the radiator exhuast duct around 300 knots, and it dosn't close fully.
  6. how that? I just shorted down to Samauri's Shipyard
  7. in between trying to salvage my C drive (its dying badly), I was looking into it. So far, all I've confimed is that the game seems (emphasis on seems) to be ignoring any added AI statements in aircraft's data ini. We used to be able to edit the (irrc) the missioncontrol.ini, and change various altitudes... no luck so far. I know historically, USN dive bombers came in from 15-17000 feet. I'd assume (oh! that word!) IJN aircraft would be fairly similiar you could alwasy try adding NAVAL_STRIKE to the Primary or Secondary Roles in the data in, and see what happens. Be ready to change it back, however
  8. if i could get my hands on C5s map ... after the system rebuild, of course.... I could DO things with it!
  9. File Name: SF2 Update, Modern Darwin terrain File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 07 December 2010 File Category: Full Terrains Modern Darwin Terrain, Update Pak For SF2 - Full-4 Merged Reccomended (but not fully required) This is an update pak for the Modern Darwin/Timor terrain I released in 2009. It is designed to replace some small bits inside, so you =MUST= have the 2009 update pak for this terrain to install -this- package into. You can find it at the following URL (this is the complete terrain, WITH tiles): http://combatace.com/files/file/6089-modern-darwintimor/ This pak updates several inis to SF2 levels, adds a few little fixes to some terrain objects, and for the 12/2010 patch, adds the _Water.bmp that the new mission builder requires. Targeting remains the same, although the Runway2 has been 'repaved' to a full concrete/macdam surface (no more dirt). Some "other items" have also been updated. The LimitedNations statement has NOT been added, so anyone and everyone can fly here. As always, unzip this to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. REMINDER: this is NOT for the DAT's Timor terrain in their all-inclusive "Wings Over Timor" mod!!! This is for the terrain update listed above ==ONLY==!!!! Happy Landings! 10. if you don't have SF2NA as part of the base game installs, and/or full-5 merged, and RUNNING the game from teh SF2NA.exe, the navalmap=ture and waterbmps with CV zones will not work. attached is MY darwin_water.bmp, with 2 CV zones (one enemy, one friendly), ready for use in the SF2NA environment
  11. http://modelfan.ru/ hit the 'translate to English' button at the top, and be ready to spend MANY hours browsing, it's not very well organized
  12. is there a Darwin_water.bmp in the terrains' folder?
  13. and the nose art potential is through the roof!!!
  14. File Name: SF2 WW2 PTO Hawk 75A-C7, ML-KNIL File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 18 September 2012 File Category: Other Hawk 75A-C7, ML-KNIL =for SF2, (Full4/5 merged reccomended) -Something for the PTO players*- *even if we don't have an NEI map; at least you'll have the aircraft.* This is a revamp for SF2, a modification of Wolf257's P-36/Mohawk into the Hawk 75 export version, as used by several Allied nations . It represents aircraft from the ML-KNIL during the opening days of the War in the Pacific, in the defense of the Netherlands East Indies (Java and Sumatra, for those that don't know) This creates a country specific version for use in your World War 2: PTO installs ONLY!! As such, all the loadout have been adjusted to fit KLU aircraft of the time. The 'fake pilot method" (patentpending) is used to add the 2 underwing pylons for light bombs (either RAF50 or US 100 pounders) This is the complete aircraft; serial numbers are historically correct, but I could not determine which squadron used what number; consider them generic in this respect. A new cockpit (one of Stary's WW2 pits) replaces the original, as the gauge needles have disappeared due to a material issue. This cockpit MAY be more historicaly correct; French Hawk75s used a reflector gunsight -so perhaps they were also used on other export versions. I've also adjusted the operational service years/dates; they historically were all destroyed by February, 1942; in the 1stGen version we couldn't have the mm/dd/yyyy but now in SF2 we can have them end on the 28th of Feburary. As always, fairly easy to follow, highly detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Remember -- these are very old models, so they "are as they is". All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

  16. it's not so much backing up ... that would have been easy if it werent for all the defective sectors. Using the Windoze backup in the 'my computer', goes to 3/4 of the progress bar and fails due to an I/O error. fortunately, the mods folders are still accessable and zipped, and storing on the external. Unfortunately, frakking Dell don't ship with with Win7 discs....and THIS is the main problem.
  17. it may be flightengine or height field ... there's a couple of spots on the KAW Korea map that do it too. btw, is there a river on those tiles? just curious, as that were I see it most on Korea New Guinea is in the factory right now; being rebult from the bottom up. Unfortnately, my HD is dying, so I'm going balls out to try and back everything up until I can get the new HD installed and transfer all the stuff over
  18. i'm just glad it's NOT topless pics of Dave on the Riveria ...(or in one, if he's driving a Buick)
  19. yes, iirc, there were some 'issues' of course, what happens 'behind the scenes' we can't control (wink-wink, nudge-nudge)
  20. it's not on the skin map? or is it 'molded' into the lod? (not having it, I can't examine it). Even if it molded into the lod (ie: raised lettering welded to the hull) you should be able to find it on the skin map, and repaint it. Maybe use the panel finder??
  21. Airacomet wouldn't have gotten BuzzNumbers anyway; they were out of service before they into use, replaced by ShootingStars. As the Real World ™ aircraft offered nothing over conventional pistion-driven fighers (read: P51D/H), and the range was CONSIDERABLY shorter (around 150 nm radius)... well,..... so, easy answer: set them for marking pre-Oct 1947 (star-and-bar, no stripe), serials only on tail fin, no BzNums; perhaps individual plane-in-group numbers on nose; that'd be about it.
  22. stock or 3rd party terrain??? if add on terrain, is it referencing the correct terrain cat? Airfield inis, etc? almost sounds like the 'starting at the wall' (been having that on some of the WW2 terrains ... no movement, no plane, no cockpit, and exteranal view)
