  1. there's 3 electircal transmission towers in WoV ... I think they have collision meshs (ok, I've also used them on other terrains) We have a rail station; just not 'built into' the terrain rail tracks. Unless you want to physically lay the track sections all over. That would be an NIGHTMARE!!!! Moving trains ala Aces over Europe, Janes WW2 fighters, CFS would be great, but not a show stopper for me 3d mission builder I've been crying for since 2003!!!! A 'save last single mission' feature would be nice too. But -and don't forget- it all goes back to what TK can afford to add, and what we modders can come up with to 'bend' the engine as best we can to our will Wrench kevin stein
  2. How could I have missed this thread.. "You went somewhere????" j/k!!! Wrench kevin stein
  3. Nope, sorry wrong!! All you need to do to get the 06 WepPak (aka "The Bunyap Pak) working in the post-patch world is to simply use the newest weapons editor (date 4/08, IIRC). Open the weaponsdata ini with the new editor, open any weapon, DO NOTHING ELSE, click OK , then SAVE. The new editor will rebuild the weaponsdata ini and weapons data.dat to the new standards. Other than some new paramaters, it work 99.8 % ™ perfecly. I've done it on at LEAST 4 of my installs with problems. Wrench kevin stein
  4. Don't forget there's the Purlycrapov Pu-2 "little stinker" for the NorKoreans that's been on my site for the last, or 3 years or so... Wrench kevin stein
  5. oh, and I almost forgot... Is 'mike1' still around here??? He did a Honduran Tiger II skin I"d like to use (after redecaling), with Dave's F-5E mod As he's not a signatory of the Freeware Accords Treaty, I need to get his permssion. Interestering part will be HOW I'm going get the FAH Tiger II released.. Wrench kevin stein
  6. Just curious if this has been done before... Cause I had an idea, that I wanted to sneak in on an upcoming aircraft mod. Wrench kevin stein
  7. There's at LEAST 3 different tutorials on "How To Use the Weapons Editor" in the knowledge base. Have a browse through, and definatle make sure you're using the RIGHT one!!! Post-patch requires the one dated April 08 quicky link: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=9323 Wrench kevin stein
  8. You all do KNOW we have a thing called the Knowledge Base, right? That has this very answer, as it seems to come up almost daily. I should know, as i wrote the tutorial. Unfortnately, I've been unable to find it's exact location !!! So, with further ado.... using the Skypats' Extraction Tool (instructions for it's usage are here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=32706) go into the FlightData.cat, and extract the HUDData.ini Open it in you text editor of choice -NotePad works reeaaaallly good, and look for the following sections... [Display004] DisplayType=RADAR PosX=0.865 PosY=0.015 Width=0.125 Height=0.16666667 Alpha=0.60 InitTime=2.0 What you can do is simply change the Width and Height to 0 (that 'zero'), thusly: [Display004] DisplayType=RADAR PosX=0.865 PosY=0.0 Width=0.0 Height=0.16666667 Alpha=0.60 InitTime=2.0 Also, another nice thing, is you can remove that background from the displayed text by doing this: [infoDisplay] //BackgroundImage=TextBackground.tga note the double slash to comment out the line BottomLeftPosition=0.01,0.985 BottomRightPosition=0.99,0.985 DisplayWidth=0.20 VerticalBorder=0.0015 HorizontalBorder=0.008 EnemyTargetColor=1.0,0.0,0.0,1.0 FriendlyTargetColor=0.0,0.0,1.0,1.0 UnknownTargetColor=1.0,1.0,0.0,1.0 WaypointColor=1.0,1.0,1.0,1.0 TextFile=HUDText.str NormalColor=1.0,1.0,1.0,1.0 WarningColor1=1.0,1.0,0.0,1.0 WarningColor2=1.0,0.0,0.0,1.0 AGLAltStart=609.6 AGLAltWarning=152.4 As to the Alt-D not working, it's a default keystorke. I'd double-check by /Controls section in the /Options menu and make sure it didn't "accidently" get changed to something else. It should ALWAYS work to remove the info display on the lower left. Wrench kevin stein
  9. The game engine is not seeing the LODS, which it should as the 21MF is stock in WoE. First off, delete that LOD out of the aircraft's foldere, and retest. Let the game engine use the LODs in the objects.cat. I also see a second, "nested" Type96B folder ... double check that one, as it may have the 'new' bits, and needs to be at the top level WRench kevin stein
  10. I KNEW a plane-jane camo, decals-only markings skin would come in handy for somebody!! (I should also mention that I know that camo birds usually don't have an anti-glare panel, but it's a cheat I used to cover some mis-mapped camo pattern on the nose ) I seem to notice the 'missing' warning label.... other than that, nice job Spinners. For those that haven't noticed it.....(this IS a screenshot thread after all) Wrench kevin stein
  11. File Name: NAA F-86E Sabre, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 10 Mar 2009 File Category: F-86 Saber NAA F-86E Sabre, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña (Honduran Air Force) for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and probably SF2 -Part of an on-going series of mod recreating Central American Airpower Modifications, and a complete reskin of F-86 Sabre into those as used by the Honduran Air Force. This is a aircraft mod, with everything included to (well, pretty much) just unzip and fly away with!! The skins, from templates supplied by Zur about a milliion years ago, represent a "USAF SEA style" of coloring and pattern. The pattern itself might be considerd "interperative", but follows fairly closely to what few photos I was able to find in the research phase of this mod..New decals for the individual aircraft are from historical listings. The numbers.lst, while included, is NOT active, to prevent 'running out of numbers in game'. It's just renamed, so it's easy to reactiveate it. You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the weapons are included (well, ok just the drop tanks in this cas...)in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, -and- in EACH weapons folder is a _data.ini as used by SF2. Unfortunately, as I don't have SF2, some experimentation on your part will be required to install and get them up and running. (meaning, I'm not sure how the numberation runs...) Cockpit mods are the inclusion of the "K-14" style air-to-air and air-to-ground sights, as seen on some other Sabre mods I've released. This mod is designed for use with, I'm hoping, ANY weapons pak. You may just need to add a few things. = IMPORTANT: This aircraft has been tested in Post-Patch SF/WoV/WoE/WoI. Be advised of the existence of some handling issues prevelant in WW2 era and many Pre-Patch (ie: 06 level) aircraft. Fly accordingly!!! It should also work in SF2 and later iterations - this has NOT been tested, however. As usual, the readme contains pretty much all the info necessary to get up and running (or flying as the case may be!)So, give a read through Good Hunting! 18. File Name: Vought F4U-5 Corsair, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 10 March 2009 File Category: US Navy and USMC Vought F4U-5 Corsair, Fuerza Aérea Hondureña (Honduran Air Force) for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI and probably SF2 -Part of an on-going series of mods recreating Central American Airpower This is a modification of The Mirage Factory's F4U-7 (French Navy version), into the earlier, and almost identical (albiet modified), F4U-5 version as used by the Honduran Air Force in the 1950s and 60s. This mod is VERY similiar to the Korean Era F4U-4B mod I released in 2008. This pak contains -almost- everything you'll need to create this new version, minus a few critical files that you'll need to copy from the original F4U-7. So you MUST have the -7 somewhere to copy them from. If not, you can download it from Check6 (TMF Home Site), Column5 or CombatAce This is to be considered as an "incomplete" aircraft mod, due to the non-inclusion of certain files. I've NOT included the aircraft LOD files nor the cockpit folder. See below "To Install" for a complete list of the necessary parts. I've included all the inis I've modified, so you'll be copying the minimum number of bits. You also get a new WoE style Hangar screen, all the weapons in the new "folder format" for use in post-patch installs, and in EACH weapons folder is a _data.ini as used by SF2. Unfortunately, as I don't have SF2, some experimentation on your part will be required to install and get them up and running. The skins are "pieces parts", dejumbled together from the stock ones that came with the aircraft when released. New, historical individual number decals are included. The numbers.lst, while included, is NOT active, to prevent 'running out of numbers in game'. It's just renamed, so it's easy to reactiveate it. 21. Hopefully, these will come out in the right order.... From the Osprey Campaign book--- I tried to make these jpgs as big as possible If a Zuiho Zeke (or other birds) skins are needed, it shouldn't take too long to do them up. Beside, the Claude has some SERIOUS FM issues, that even my fiddlling with haven't been able to fix (yet!!) bigstone: they're right there on the page... you gotta scroll down a ways, it BIIIG page. 22. It's been coverd several hundred times, my brother, since the Patches came out in 9/08 & 10/08. I'm assuming that SF2 using the same type of rendering style as the PostPatch SF/WoV/WoE/WoI. So, what does that mean?? A lot of earler mods will NOT cast their shadows properly. This is caused by various and sundry VERY small faults in the aircraft lod files. There's aboslutely NOTHING that can be done about, short of rebuilding the aricraft COMPLETELY in MAX. This is how the game engine 'sees' shadows, postpatch: [shadow] CastShadow=TRUE ShadowCastDist=10000 MaxVisibleDistance=800 THOSE lines are the cause of the "black beam to the ground" line. Here's what you need to do...we'll start with the Sabre, as I've just been working on another variant Open the F-86E-10.ini (in this case I'm showing the one that due to come out this week) this is what the ini looks like, with the shadow section highlighted.. Now, The Great and Powerful Zur has done a great thing here; when he relesed the Sabres, he'd also created a SHD, which is the lod for the shadow. And it works fine, post patch. The alternative is the just comment OUT the lines for the shadow for that particular aircraft, in it's own ini. In the case of those WITH the old style shadow callout , you just change the TRUE to FALSE. Thusly: [shadow] CastShadow=FALSE ShadowLOD=F86F_shadow.shd ShadowType=1 ShadowCastDist=5000 MaxVisibleDistance=400 For those using the NEW style, like this: [shadow] CastShadow=FALSE ShadowCastDist=10000 MaxVisibleDistance=800 BTW, this WHOLE issue is also covered in "The Things You Need to Update Thread" in the knowlege base, wherein we mentions glitches and the (hopefuly) fixes for them. 25. It's all listed in the readme..... Although, historically, there would be NO B-17D or A5M Claude. Both were not in front line service during this time period. All the D model Forts had either been destroyed, or regulated to stateside duties (excepting "The Swoose"). E models were used by the AAF from Midway (although you could probably substitute the F). Same for the Claudes. Zekes ONLY on the IJN carriers as fighters. Rufes from the seaplane tender with the invasion group, and Jakes from the cruisers. Wrench kevin stein
