View File Low Vis and Alternate Skins For SF2:NA F-14A + Also Decals Fixes for Stock Turkeys ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thank you for downloading the Mid- and Low-vis generic skin pack and the corrective decal pack for the Thirdwire F-14A and F-14A_77.for the Thirdwire Productions F-14A_77. This pack was made to provide low and medium visibility markings for all squadrons on the stock squadron list. These decals would not be possible without TK and Thirdwire for creating SF2:NA and in some cases providing some of the artwork here than has been modified to suit the demands of this pack. Further recognition goes to SuperScale International, Fightertown, Aeromaster, Eagle Strike, FCM, Afterburner, and Custom Aeronautical Miniatures for producing model decals that made good reference material, and to Torsten Anft, Peter Davies, Lou Drendel, Paul Gilchrist, Dave Brown, and many others for their published works and photographs. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Requirements: Strike Fighters 2: North Atlantic. Installation: 1: drop the Objects folder into your Strike Fighters 2 mod folder. 2: Enjoy how you will. Known Issues: 1: VF-111 is missing the shark mouth. A: Without the .out file to determine what the meshname for the nose is, I have decided to exclude this decal for the time being. I will add it once the .out is available. 2: The squadron markings don't look any different from one skin to the next. A: In many cases, squadron markings didn't change for years. Some squadrons went from high-vis to early low-vis with drastic changes while others never altered their tail art. Some of these squadrons came along after the high-vis period was over and didn't so much as change Air Wings for an entire decade or more. If you see a repeat in squadron decals, that's because that's just how it was. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there are any questions, comments, or complaints, please contact me through my profile Swordsman422 at CombatAce.com ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thank you for downloading the corrective decal pack for the Thirdwire F-14A and F-14A_77. This pack was made to correct inaccurate or missing decals for the US Navy F-14 squadrons included in Strike Fighters 2: North Atlantic. Allow to overwrite as neccessary. 2: Enjoy how you will. Known Issues: 1: VF-1 and VF-111 are still missing decals. A: I know. VF-1 is missing it's fuselage stripe and VF-111 does not have the shark mouth. The VF-1 stripe runs along the forward fuselage and passes through a modex number that is placed noticably lower that the modex in other squadrons. This would have negated the generic qualities of these skins. The VF-111 shark mouth on the nose would require adding a new decal data bloc and experimenting with placement. I may yet add this decal later should modders be given access to the .out files with future patches. 1a: Squadron X is still missing decal Y. A: Probably because they didn't have it during the time period modeled. VF-11 for example didn't have their squadron number on the ventral fins in the early 80's. They had it on the tail, and it's already present in the existing artwork. 2: A lot of these look like the decals I had already. A: Yes. That just means that there wasn't any problem with the original decal. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there are any questions, comments, or complaints, please contact me through my profile Swordsman422 at CombatAce.com Submitter Swordsman422 Submitted 03/22/2012 Category F-14

I said I liked it but I still love the old school stuff with the trees etc. If that new format can be like that then that would be great.
-
You can change the format back to bmp if you want by going into the options.ini. Look for the screen shot section and which is close to this [screenShots] Directory=D:\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 NorthAtlantic\ScreenShots Format=JPG Then change the format to bmp.

Well I am having a freaking blast with this new sim. It covers exactly what I like. At the pace I like and can make it as I like. Just need a patch to fix some things and I'm good. TK made me eat my words and I am gladly eating my humble pie and got seconds.

Remember the mission in RSR in which the B-52's hit Iceland and lost 9 out of 18 bombers. They were supported by 4 NYANG F-4D's configured for SEAD. (who gave the SAM's an ass kicking) Also an EF-111 jamming aircraft. The 8 Mig-29A's tore into them too. Not single radar missile though because the jamming was intense. This mission was just as fugly.....

Another thing I noticed was that DanW made a lot of skins for the Tomcats. Even some of the obscure units. Great job there. He's probably tired of looking at F-14's now.

1. Does the data.ini have ASM in the weapons section? 2. No. So I just delete them manually. This will also happen when you patch and add any DLC's. 3. I doubt the new tiles will fix this. But we will see. 4. Not sure about that. Hope this is clear as mud.

Thanks for volunteering Kevin...I'll expect your report in the morning.... Also you will like this....NYANG F-4D, as they were going to Hill scheme in 1986. They provided SEAD for the Buff raid. I found one pic of them in that color.

Need a terrain gurus help....I need the front line where the blue line is. That is the start of the campaign and I need to set it up so the US sides loses Keflavik after the first mission. Then on the 2nd mission of the campaign, that is where the 2 Mig-29 units go. Am I stretching the campaign engine too far for this idea? Would it be better to set it up as a single mission and then have the campaign start with Mig-29's already there. The blue X's are airfield that need to be removed as such too. So they do not get used. Need some ideas fellas.

I don't have any MI-24 to use. Caesar and I are using the book as a guide but adding our twists to it to make it fun. My plan is to make specific missions from the book with the mission editor. Lots to do and TK provided a great canvas to work with.

Right now I'm using the terrain that came with NA. I have been following gerwins progress with great interest. As far as the F-117 goes yes that was on the Germany side but there is always room to expand.

Don't take too long my fleets are taking a pounding..... -
Avionics completed. Will be uploading in a few.

The chair is ok, I need a new one. Right now I have my leg propped up next to it from the knee surgery yesterday. Make using the rudder pedals a pain in the ass.
-
Got the MFD's in and man they are great. Plug and play. Easy to program.
-
Thanks Stary. File approved. It will give me a good playground to perfect this stuff with.
-
Bad weather does not hinder the Marines heading to Iceland. The lead strikers are heading in now....
-
Well I got the campaign working perfectly. So thats one hurdle out of the way. Now on to the individual missions from the book. That's going to be the hard part.

Hey WBS are you going to update the Ticos and the other ship you released?
