roger, the path to the filename is correct. Here's a question, in SF1 series, whenever there was a ptch, I had to reinstall all addons back into the folders, even if they were still in there for the game to see them, maybe that is going on? Caveat, this was a clean install, and I did not transfer any addons into the mods folder. When I created the Mods folder inside the E: drive SF2NA directory, I then copied the mods from the E: drive alternate installation directly, but, when I explore C:\users.... ALL OF THE FILES FROM THE MODS ARE IN THERE...WTF??!! So here's my next plan, I'm going to delete all the addons, leaving only the options.ini on the C:\Users, and see what happens. -

Hey Wrench, I reverted every thing to default state (options=options.ini on the c drive, C:\Users\TeargasHorse\Saved Games\ThirdWire) and none of the addons will show up in ANY of the merged games with NA. My original install with everything up to SF2E works with all addons. For some reason the NA merged install will not see the addon mods. -

I have not changed anything in the Options.ini, only the game launch .config to point to the Mods folder inside SF2NA. In SF2NA, the game does not see any mods at all, no Terrains or aircraft outside of the default combined games. For example, I have the America Midwest map, but it will not show in either EXP or NA.This is the line in the launch.exe that I changed: [Options] OptionsFile=E:\ThirdwireNA\Mods\Options.ini -

Not a bad guess for 1977
TeargasHorse replied to fireengineer's topic in Military and General Aviation
IMHO it resembles the YF-23 Lightning, but since you mentioned 1977. Firefox had all the flat facets of the F-117, and bent wings like, well idunno, XB-70? -
Thoughts? [RPG Flight Sim/Wetdream] WARNING LONG READ
TeargasHorse replied to Skyviper's topic in The Pub
For the bail out, escape and evade, I've thought before that it would be interesting to turn it into a FPS type situation; not that you could blast your way out of being captured with a .38 or .45 with one reload, but that you could make your way to friendly lines in a timely manner. You could even be commendeered by friendlies, rebels whatever, and be pressed into a short ground mission in order to "buy" your way back home (ala Call of Duty 2 where your bomber gets destroyed and you're thrown out and used to destroy a bridge) or decline. At least the player would have some control over whether they actually make it home, POW, killed, etc. I really like your plan, and it would be very unlike anything out (unless someone steals it, China). It needs to be well scripted, as the stories need to make sense, and the reasons for things need to be "realistically portrayed", but man, you're on the right path! -

TG has been running on FX for about a week, I just saw it in entirety today. I actually got in an arguement about the existance of the MiG 28s with a guy at work who ended up losing 5 bucks to me.

problem with new patch
TeargasHorse replied to greyhawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I bought and dl'd SF2E today and it was patched with the new version. -
Very cool! Oh man, no 2 hour tutorials on how to profile missiles, select bombs and rocket salvos, or gun fire rates! Get in and hose! I DIG THIS! It would be cool if they made it an F-51 in Korea, as there are no Korea sims out for years, but I'll take what DCS puts out.

Your first combat flight sim...
TeargasHorse replied to Gunrunner's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
There were two stand-up arcade games, I dunno which was first that I played, Tail-Gunner, where you were on a spaceship and were the tail gunner, and Red Baron, that was from the cockpit of a triplane going through mountains and shooting stuff. For the PC, the first would be Chuck Yeager's Advanced Flight Trainer on the Apple IIe. There was one biplane fighter that you could dogfight. There was no joystick or mouse so it was keyboard/pad, and had FPS around 7. Then the switch to PC. LucasFilm Games "Their Finest Hour : The Battle of Britain" (still no J/S), Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe and the 4 addons, Strike Fighters by Sierra, Battle Hawks 1942 (there were 2other games by these guys, I cant recall the names), Aces over Europe + Pacific, A-10 Tank Killer by Dynamix, 1942:Pacific Air War (fantastic game), X-Wing + addons, Tie Fighter +addons, F-19 Stealth by MicroProse, Red Baron Flight of the Intruder Gunship 2000, Falcon 3.0, F14 Fleet Defender F15 Strike Eagle, Chuck Yeager's Air Combat, Microsoft Combat Flight Simulater 2 and 3 (first user made free add-on planes) MiG-Alley Jane's USAF, my first online game <S> SAF!,(boo Jane's for killing the servers!!) Jane's WW2 Fighters, LOMAC (never got used to playing), Falcon 4 (never had time to learn), IL2 SERIES, Strike Fighters series (although I still dont have version 2 of them), Operation Flashpoint series. I believe that I still have every single game on either 5 1/4" or 3 1/2", plus the 486 with them still on the HD! I'm sure I'm missing something, but you only asked for the first, and I got all nostalgic. -
Bomb Jettison
TeargasHorse posted a topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
Hi fellas,I've been playing IL2 series since it came out, so I'm not a really a nOOb, but I do like to have unlimited ammo on, which leads to the following question, With unlimited ammo on, how can I jettison bombs? It's great for utterly destroying ground targets, so I don't have to fly there again and again, but when the enemy fighters come out, I'm at an extreme disadvantage. When the autopilot flies, just before landing, he is able to unload, I just don't see any way of cleaning up for the fight. Any help here? -

"No more feeling that your head is seatbelted in place in the pit." I really want to get the new version, but I'm hung up on the following problem; My tendencies from normal playing was to tilt my head left or right in turns to keep the horizon level while banking. I had a IRT2 unit, and found that it would interpret this motion as my head turning left or right, usually left, but would not go back to forward look. I ended up eating that device (not using it). Does the TIR5 fix that old problem, or would I just have to learn not to tilt, or the dead zone adjust sounds like it would work?
