Tom Clancy's Air Combat Announced
Shashman replied to Fates's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
I got a baaaaaad feeling about this -
A good RTS I'm playing atm is World In Conflict (BETA). You can download it but u have to apply for it. Great game though
-
Just got it. Will have to give it a go. I like the look and sound of the game.

Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour. I think I've seen some screens of this mod and it looks pretty good, I'm all for authenticity and realism. Something C&C Generals totally lacked in my opinion.

Felt awesome. I was learning to fly before I'd even driven a car and I just loved the total freedom. Having said that, the almost constant checks and procedures were a bit of a headache at times so you really have to be able to multitask well.

More Effective Camos
Shashman replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
That German RF-4C camo is by far the most effective one so far. Impressive -

Yap's Kc-135
Shashman replied to gumpy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Which mission packs? -
Yeah I got it the day it came out, played it for a couple days, then deleted it. Enough said Too arcade-y for my liking, lack of immersion in the campaign even though they bill it as a dynamic campaign, boring missions, not enough variety, and most and foremost, too damn easy.

*Hands out copious amounts of chill pills* Slowly count to ten, breathe deep.... There. Better? Jeez, calm down yeah? It was a question, so quite OBVIOUSLY I "have no idea what I'm going on about here", think before posting next time, do humanity a favour. Whether an addon maker or modder spends hours, days or months working on his project, it still wouldn't exist were it not for the game they're developing it for. TW provide the engine, the community provides the extra content. So in effect, they wouldn't have a product to sell if it weren't for TW's game, therefore bringing me back to my original query on property rights. Do RAZBAM have TW's permission to use their product as a sales tool? I've come from the Operation Flashpoint and Armed Assault community, and trust me, I've witnessed a hell of a lot of projects go down the drain or lose the public's interest because of 'property issues'.
-
Just out of interest, and please don't take this the wrong way, but what if someone was to release a modified RAZBAM product for free? Are you covered by copyright protection, intellectual property, etc? Seeing as you're using a game's engine, then surely it becomes the property of Third Wire, who created the engine in the first place. Modding and editing their game is just a little extra that they decided to give the community, however, whatever is modded still remains their property. Have I got it right? I ask because I've witnessed quite a few arguments and conflicts erupt due to people modding someone else's addons then re releasing them, with or without their permission (bearing in mind that it is a question of morals and decency here, not the law) for other sims...

The Jaguars will be attending this year's RIAT as part of the IAF's 75th anniversary celebrations, not because they're so amazing that there is a demand all over the world to see them Oh and I would hardly call Airforces Monthly, "the media". This month's edition's Indian attrition : April 1st - Mig-23. Crashed into paddy fields. "The pilot, Flt.Lt Nikhil Gupta ejected safely after being unable to lower the undercarriage..." April 5th - Harrier T.60 (Indian Navy). "Crashed into the Arabian Sea after a training sortie off the coast of Goa at 0850hrs, whilst on approach from the Western side to its base at Goa/Dabolim." April 11th - Cheetah. "Later found to have crashed near the Amar helipad in the central Siachen Glacier, Jammu and Kashmir..."
