  1. Desert Storm without an F-117A? Now that would be a crime....
  2. I just reinstalled it in WoE....flies surprisingly well in SP5 (that is, for an FM made SP4 standards). Know what? I'm going to update it and twist Marcelo's arm to release it...lol
  3. I find the best tactic to be......
  4. From 18 months ago. Marc took a break for a while, I'm sure he'll get back to it soon enough.
  5. Notice that FC did not say: "Not that I would know anything about inverted high speed low level flight" Yes, the one they threw at him....
  6. Well, I just verified that the S-300 will launch against aircraft over 40 nm away (in-game). At that range, the best countermeasure is a quick, spiraling dive down to the deck, pumping chaff all the way. It's still disconcerting watching the approaching missile maintain it's head-on aspect to you, while you're doing so.... The Nike will engage well beyond that range, but it's meant to be a nuke-tipped bomber killer, so it's not too hard to dodge.
  7. The impression you have of a "lack of speed" when flying at low level is due to density, no amount of tiling will help there, without looking grossly fake. I suggest that you add a good terrain shader and possibly some trees, and you'll see a marked difference.
  8. See how nice and shiny he left it? http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-phot...2/7/1310729.jpg
  9. I understand that Dave's taken ownership of the one at the USAF Museum. In fact, I'll bet that he's there right now, polishing his MiG...
  10. It's been done before. Brain32's GermanyCE (WoE), VietnamSEA (WoV), and soon to be released Korea terrain, are all examples of this. The default Third Wire WoI terrain is also partially constructed from satellite overheads of the region.
  11. Its the map, or more to the point, the weapon density in that map. Try flying low level over Hanoi or Haiphong.
  12. Yeah, they miss ALL the time WoV Video
  13. Only if you're running the unpatched original version of WoV. Installing SP4 or above removes it, so you must have installed it from another TW sim.

  15. There are no ZSU 23-4s in a default, patched WoV install. The North Vietnamese did not have any during the war (1964-1973). You are probably confusing them with the ZU-23, which is a two-barreled, trailer mounted weapon. The ZSU-23-4, OTH, is radar directed, and quite effective against low flying targets in game.
  16. The first S-300s were deployed in the USSR in 1979. The first exports, outside of the Eastern Bloc, were in 1989-1990.
  17. Guess what, Spectre... The_Wall.wmv Still a beta, but it's getting there.....this is Monty CZ's baby, so you know it'll be top notch.
  18. It's there to allow for a smoother transition of the terrain shader effect between near, and "distant" tiles. It helps somewhat with frame rates on older DX9 graphic cards.
  19. That's been there since the release of WoI.
  20. Just follow Mathias Rust.....he knows how to penetrate SAM defenses
