View File RCAF Sky Lancers skin for the Canadair Sabre Mk. 6 The Sky Lancers were a relatively unknown Royal Canadian Air Force air demonstration team that formed in Europe during 1955. They proved so successful that another team came together the following year; once again using equipment and personnel from Canada?s contribution to Europe?s defense. However, during a spring rehearsal three of the four aircraft crashed. The Sky Lancers never flew again. Submitter Tim Canada Submitted 12/24/2005 Category F-86 Saber/FJ-2/3 Fury Skins

View File VF-871 RCN Sqn for the Sea Fury VF-871 RCN Squadron for the Hawker Sea Fury FB.11/Mk.50 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ History: ~~~~~~~~ The RCN equipped Nos 803 and 883 Squadrons (later designated VF-870 and VF-871) with the Hawker SEA FURY. these squadrons flew 75 Sea Furies from February, 1948 to April, 1957 operating from both HMCS Magnificent and its replacement, HMCS Bonaventure. One of the Sea Fury's acquired was a Mk.10 while the other 74 were F.B. Mk.11s. These were both single seat fighters and fighter-bombers, and were similar except that the Mk 11s were equipped to carry the 100/1,000 pound jettisonable wing bomb carriers. The outer portions of the wings of both models could be folded upwards hydraulically to facilitate stowage below decks on an aircraft carrier. Installation: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You must first have the SeaFury_v1 bt Simon Porter in order to install these skins. Unzip to your /Objects/Aircraft/SeaFury folder. Go fly *I have also included RCN themed Loading and Hangar screens. backup your originals just in case you don't like mine. Thanks to RCAF.com and Airliners.net for the images and information. Credits: ~~~~~~~~ I would like to thank Simon Porter for all the hard work he put into creating the Sea Fury. Thanks to Saguanay for reference material and also to David Hanvey and Paul Barry who created a wonderful FS 2004 model of the Sea Fury which I used as reference. Have fun! View File 444 "Cobra" Sqn for the Canadair Sabre Mk. 6 Version 2 444 "Cobra" Squadron Skin for the Canadair Sabre Mk. 6 Version 2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a second version of the same skin. After uploading it the first time, I noticed some inaccuracies. Although this version isn't exact either, I think it is a much better representation of the aircraft. History: ~~~~~~~~ Formed at St. Hubert on 1 March 1953, No. 444 Squadron bore the first new number (i.e. which had no war-time predecessor) in the post-war R.C.A.F. Six months later the squadron flew its Sabres overseas on "Leapfrog 4". The squadron joined No. 4 (Fighter) Wing at Baden-Soellingen, Germany in September. Selected as one of eight squadrons of the Air Division to be re-equipped with CF-104 Starfighter aircraft for a nuclear strike role, Installation: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You must first have the sabres_v21.zip in order to install these skins. You can download it at: http://www.zur-tech.com/sabres4.htm Unzip the 444.zip to your Objects/Aircraft/Canadair folder. Launch the game and choose "444 Cobra" in the Paint scheme section. Go fly! Note: the Canadair Sabre 6 already comes with a 444 squadron paint scheme by default. You can choose which one you like best. *These textures are 1024 x 1024. You may want to resize them to 512 x 512 to improve frame rates, especially on older computers. **I have also included the fuel tank skin but at this time I do not know how to add it as a seperate tank. Maybe it will be included in a future weapons pack one day. If you want to use the one I have provided, backup your original Tank_f86.bmp in your / Objects / Weapons folder.( You will need the latest weapons pack) Otherwise you will have a silver tank. Credits: ~~~~~~~~ I would like to thank Sagaunay for some reference material and beta testing as well as Zurawski & the rest of the sabre team for producing such a classic aircraft for all of us to enjoy.
