I have noticed that certain aircraft certain aircraft such as the TW F-15A do not seem to have functional lead computing optical gun sights. while others like the F-15SE seem to work fairly well at maintaining boresight alignment. For instance , when pulling g's in a dog fight in certain HUD equipped aircraft , the piper will diverge radically from the boresight of the weapon and burry itself in the bottom of the Hud if I happen to be pulling up... or the opposite if I am in a dive. The gunsight is actually fighting me rather than computing a lead solution. :) I have been comparing Avionics INI Hud Data between aircraft and have tried some changes but to no avail. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place? Need a little advice here. Thank you
  2. Are you using DSR in global mode in the Nvidia control panel? I do not have it showing under SF2 program settings in Nvidia control panel.
  3. I saw a massive increase with my new upgrade: Ryzen 16 core, 32 gb 3600mhz ram, Samsung 2 tb ssd, geforce rtx 3060 12gb vram. I have highly graphically intense modded installs, with extended horizon draw distances. mod combinations that used to bog down and choke my old system ( which was high end for strike fighters) run silky smooth, so much so I am considering making a video demonstrating the performance that is now possible with highly modded sf2 and the latest pc components. CPU performance makes a big difference.

  5. Just built a new windows 10 computer and installed sf2. Ported over my Thirdwire control map For my CH flight controls from my previous windows 7 SF2 install and in the new system it is totally messed up. The new SF2 install is unable to assign the settings to the proper devices as called out by the old TW map file. It seems to have problems differentiating ion between the Fighterstick and the Pro throttle Additionally all of the button/ key bindings are miss translated . The call outs in the map file are correct, but the interpretation is hosed up. Have any of you with windows 10 and CH flight controls had this issue? Thank you in advance.
  6. I ended up doing a remap, as all of the controllers and buttons were not being recognized correctly. Previous versions of windows recognized the devices however windows 10 seemed to need the control manager software to create virtual HID devices in order to control the CH devices.

  9. With the large amount of VRAM available onboard modern video cards (12 gigs and up of VRAM) I am curious what kind of performance improvements you guys with high end cards are seeing. I would love to hear from some of you that have 6 or more Gigs of VRAM, and how the upgrade improved your sim experience. When combined with a Fast powerful CPU and a large amount of fast system memory I would think the VRAM would bring a much higher level of performance in SF2. especially when using extended horizon distance draw mods. There really has not been much talk about getting the most performance out of this sim hardware wise, in a while. Thoughts?

  11. Title says it all :) What driver version are you guys using with windows 10? Last I heard there were big problems with graphics glitches, so I stayed with windows 7 and rolled back my drivers to a stable version. Now years later I am building a new rig and want to be able to use a modern graphics card with drivers that will play the latest games. I have not seen anything posted on this in years, … so : Are the problems a thing of the past? Workarounds? What are my options? Thanks in advance.
  12. My older computer is dead, looking to put a new system together for simming, first person shooter games, video/audio/ photo editing and 3d modeling.   13. Yankee air pirate. You would have to buy their WOV Vietnam upgrade/mission sets to get it (Payware). Once you have the object called "Target" from yap you can use it with the SF2 mission editor to place multiple copies of it in an area on any terrain you choose and then fly your Apocalypse now scenario.

  15. yap had a workaround ( if i remember correctly ) by placing a transparent targetable aircraft object as a ground object on top of a real visible ground target. It worked like the ASAT mod as i remember. its been a long time but the gunners would open fire whenever they passed by the object. However that would mean that every friendly fighter aircraft would see it as an air target as well.
  16. There was one a couple years ago but it turned out to be pirated from another game, a few people have it, but file is not being shared because of the piracy.
  17. WOW...a massive terrain like this, with Diego Garcia as its center point would be an epic playground. The number of scenarios that could unfold from a terrain like this mindboggling .....if it could be done.
  18. I thought many of you would enjoy this multi part series. Part 2 and 3 have sound issues 1-4 and 5 were fine. It was still worth the watch just turn the sound off. CVWR-30 was home to some of the most highly experienced pilots in the US Navy.

  20. Each one of the required TW titles had a .cat file that you need for the mod to work .... If you do not have required .cat files the problem is on your end.
  21. You will probably want to reach out to Monte CZ or Killer Bee when setting this up. Some people were having issues with the beta that monte links to... and the official release seems to have been lost when the CA site was rebuilt. Killer Bee fixed some of the issues... maybe he can help. I really wanted to get this working but was having some issues with it, and then real life got in the way and I never came back to it. Hopefully you will get it sorted out better than I did. This mod would be epic with the GKABS new M109A2 Howitzer... Or even better the New Jersey class battleships.
  22. I have been testing this out as a short range option on the F-4 with some fairly good results. However I have never seen it deployed on anything other than helicopters and drones IRL. Does anyone know if this concept has been tested in the real world? Opinions on real world practicality as a short range option for fast movers without guns welcome.
