  1. I know about Jasta 1, 31, and 39. I just wasnt sure how to add them in. The terrain is kind of small and there are already a lot of planes filling the skies. I was thinking of adding some German units and even a few of the FFA two seater units as well. But first I need to know if this campaign is working out ok. Pictures and profiles of Jasta units are very rare. I can only think of a couple of skins to make, which I'm making now btw. The problem with certain planes, like the Nieuport 17, by the end of 1917 the Italians didnt have a whole Squad equipt with the N17. Most were mixed batches of different models. You cant create a mixed flight in these campaigns. So I just left them out and used the later models like the N24 and N27. Also there are very few airfields for the Allied airunits to use. I was thinking of starting at an earlier date too. Like you said, one of the Isonzo battles. But I had to draw a line somewhere. It was a lot of work just trying to create this campaign. Thanks for the comments ojcar.
  2. I'm curious.....Has anyone played this campaign yet? I would like to know if it's working and if things need to be addressed.
  3. would make for an easy campaign wouldnt it?
  4. I'm just reminding all that you need Part2 of the Caporetto campaign. I see the download stats are not even close to what they should be. Part 1 = 104, and Part2 = 63. There seem to be a lot of you that dont have Part 2. It has ALL the ENEMY aircraft files.
  5. All the files from the Caporetto campaign go here C: Users/ your name/ Saved Games/ ThirdWire/ FirstEagles2/ ** here** you have to create all the new folders such as Campaigns, Effects, Sounds, etc, etc. Make it look like the folder structure from the Caporetto campaign download. You can just copy and paste the new folders from the download right into your Saved Games//FirstEagles2.
  6. In C: users/your name/saved Games/ Thirdwire/ FirstEagles2/ create a new folder here called "Campaigns". Inside the new "Campaigns" folder drop in "The Battle of Caporetto" folder
  7. If you already use FE2 with XP there is no reason the campaign wont work. All you really need is the correct aircraft. Hmmm. Double check and triple check all the files. Make sure they are all in the right place. It really takes one file to be missing or be in the wrong place for a campaign to crash.Dumb question, but do you have the Vogesen terrain installed? Something has to be out of place.
  8. Funny....the download for the campaign says Part1=80 and Part2=60 It should say Part1=80 and Part 2=80 I hope everyone knows Part2 is essential for the campaign to work. It has ALL the enemy aircraft files.
  9. Well lets see.... As far as Strategic Nodes go, The front doesnt change on the map and there are much less allied (Italian) territory and even fewer airfields. The Campaign could be over in a few missions really. Also the real campaign ended in a stalemate. The Austrian Advance stalled. Then the Italians went on the offensive. So I placed all the ground action myself. There are ground objects scattered all over the front for you to target. So it's far from boring. There are plenty of ground attack missions in this campaign. I have no control over the types of weapons on the aircraft. They come with the 3D models. The AirUnits that are blank in the DATA.ini are aircraft I deleted. To remove the whole airUnit means I would have to renumber all the Units after that one, and then renumber the user aircraft in the Config.INI if any are affected. It's OK that it's blank.
  10. Well I gigured It really didnt matter too much. If I made the Enemy AC named Austria, then I would have had to change the NATIONS.ini totally to get all the different decals to work. Having the AC National name as Gemany doesnt really seem to have any affect on the game play. I think. In short I really just didnt want to chane every file over to Austrian.
  11. Before you install the campaign (or after, it doesnt really matter) add this new Battle of Caporetto config settings.INI to your campaign folder. Just overwrite the existing one. I just forgot to change the name of the campaign start screens for each nation. Now you'll get the correct screens instead of the stock FT-17 tanks and such. After looking at this campaign for a couple months my eyes seem to miss things. I'm sure there will be more. The main file is way too big to edit so I'll add updated files here in this thread. 1. New Campaign start screens ---------- Battle of Caporetto.zip
  12. "Battle of Caporetto" Ver 1.0 Part 2 View File This is Part2 of the "Battle of Caporetto" campaign, Version 1.0, done by quack74 Part2 contains all the ENEMY (Austrian and German) aircraft files. Except for the Decal folders. They are all in Part1 download. These files could not be included with Part1 only because of size. After dowloading both Part1 and Part2 you should merge the two together to keep it all organized before installing. It could be confusing if you dont. Just copy all the aircraft files in the /Objects/ Aircraft/ folder from Part2 and paste them into the / Objects/ Aircraft/ folder in Part1. It's that easy. 13. "Battle of Caporetto" Ver 1.0 Part 1 View File This is ONLY Part 1 of the "Battle of Caporetto" Campaign, Version 1.0, made by quack74 Part2 is a necessary download for it carries ALL the ENEMY (Austrian) aircraft files This Campaign takes place in Northern Italy in the Fall of 1917. Austria vs Italy. All info is in the readme files The Vogesen terrain ( by Gepard ) is needed to run this campaign. I highly recommend Jan Tuma's visual upgrade pack as well. I would like to thank ***** and the skunworks A team for many of the WWI models I would like to thank sinbad for allowing me to repost some of his Hanriot HD-1 Italian skins I also would like to thank Gepard for the terrain and the help he gave me And thanks to JanTuma for the beautiful terrain upgrade. Thanks especially to all those guys that took the time to build all the aircraft and ground objects. Without them this campaign wouldnt have come to mind. Actually Laton's Austrian and Italian planes triggered it. They needed a place to fly. So thanks Laton. 14. This thread should be used for anyone with questions regarding the "Battle of Caporetto" campaign made by quack74. Anyone out there who might know an answer to a question please chime in. More help the better. You can PM me here as well. I'll do my best to help you all install this campaign correctly. There are a lot of files to make it all work. But well worth it. 1. This campaign was made for FE2. But rearanging some files it should work with FEG aswell. 2. You'll need the Vogesen terrain found here www.combatace.com/files/download/4023-vogesen-terrain/ Thanks to Gepard. 3. I recommend using JanTuma's visual upgrade pack also found here www.combatace.com/files/download/10549-first-eagles-seasonal-tiles-by-jan-tuma/ Thanks Jan Tuma. 4. Well..... Good Luck......Cant wait to hear from you:grin: I just posted it, so I'm just waiting for it to be approved. ***** Remember... You must download Part2 aswell. It has all the German (Austrian) aircraft and skins*****

  17. Ok, I finally stopped messing with this campaign. I'm posting it tonight. There are a few issues that I know of that I'm still going to work on but for now it works just fine. It is in two downloads. Part 1 has ALL the major files needed. Part 2 has ONLY the ENEMY aircraft w/out the Decals folders. They are in Part1. I highly recommend to everyone to merge Part2 into Part1 after download. Just copy all the aircraft in the aircraft folder and past them into the Part1 aircraft folder. This is all set up for FE2. My folder structure in this download is set up like FE2. But.....everything should work with FEG too. Just have to move some files around. Anyway there are a bunch of readme files inside. I also highly recommend a new install called Austria-Italy (or something along those lines). And BACK UP ALL YOUR ORIGINAL STUFF. Please!. This will be a very involved install. Many, many files. But It almost creates a whole new sim. If you get it to work (I hope you all do) It is awsome to play. I'm going to create a thread for all "Battle of Caporetto" questions. I just know there will be a lot. I, and others I hope, will do my best to help you all install everything correctly. Use the new thread or PM me anytime. Lol....Good Luck
  18. Well I've pretty much done all I could with this campaign. I think I'm just going to post it and suffer the consequences later:grin: . This forum will blow up from all the questions I'm sure. Well I'll do my best to get it to work for everyone. I'll post it this weekend.
  19. Not a good sign. Is this the end of FE?? Where are all the new people? Dont they have questions? Or did everyone get ROF ICE?
  20. Well as you can see I used the D.VII skin that Hansa posted several months ago. I must admit it's a nice skin to work with. I think it's from ROF though. Either way it looks good. The lozenge isnt very historic in it's coloring. Too dull and not enough color. I might have a go at fixing it a bit before I post these. I was thinking about making a Jasta Boelcke campaign. I have enough Alb DIII's, Alb D.V's, Fokker Dr.1's, and now D.VII's to make a nice long campaign. The D.I and D.II are really rough to work with. Sinbad knows:grin: . Anyway, here are some D.VII's of Jasta B in mid to late summer 1918. 90% of the pilots are unknown (shame) and the skins are as accurate as I could see them.
  21. Good stuff sinbad! The more skins the better. They look great. Hey... build an Aviatik D.I already. Fabulous campaign, I'm blushing.
  22. I need a couple more takers for Beta testing. Keep in mind this is all set up for FE2. The folders structure I've included is that of FE2. But the campaign will work with FEG if you know how to place files in the right locations. There are two files to download only because of the file size. I've posted them at rapidshare.com. If you're interested I'll send you the links. All info is in the readme files. So.....anyone?
  23. Well in that case I hope you get it up and running soon:good: . I have a couple of people testing it for me now, I'll post it soon. Good luck
  24. That sucks. You should have gotten a pass code to download FE2 right away. Try the thirdwire forums for some advice under tech support.
