Spudknocker, have a look at this topic http://combatace.com/topic/67951-georgia-on-my-mind/?hl=baltika It might be the terrain you need for your Dark Gene campaign. I don't know if Baltika is still active, or if you could take over the project if he still has the files, but the terrain has a lot of potential for various scenarios.

Has someone a X-Wing for SF2?
allenjb42 replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I remember once TK posted that he would love to do a Sci Fi version of Strike Fighters (SF:SF?) and then users could make their own models. Think of the possibilities - we could have Vipers vs Tie Fighters, Angel Interceptors vs Babylon 5's Starfuries or even Spaceball One vs a Borg Cube! Sadly it came to nothing for the PC, although TK did get to make his Sci Fi game as Star Vector for mobiles. -

North of Syria map?
allenjb42 replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Stratos I know you're concentrating on Syria, but could you maybe make Gaza and the West Bank enemy territories and include some targets for Israeli jets or gunships to hit? I'm thinking headquarters or comms buildings, artillery or katyusha sites, an airport and port facilities if possible. Then we could recreate some of the recent missions/campaigns and explore future scenarios. Thanks. -

Now THAT'S how you make a Star Wars prequel!

I did something similar. I put together a big install with Iraqi, Iranian and western planes and objects and had 4 terrains: IranIraq for the Iran Iraq war 1980-88 ODS for Desert Shield and Desert Storm Persian Gulf and IR2003 for western ops against Iran in the 1980's and post-ODS eras respectively, including Operation Darius. Now Wrench is going to jump in and tell me I could have done it all on one terrain!

The first soviet aircraft to reach the beachhead is an Mi-8, but he's soon spotted by an AV-8B and won't last long However, he's done his job and pinpointed the location of the USMC landing force for the follow on flight of Hinds... The Harriers wheel around to engage this new threat The Harriers head for home to refuel and rearm And the invasion and the Battle for Iceland is only just getting started... -

USMC units begin to move inland from the beachhead: As reinforcements continue to come ashore via a shuttle service of LCACs and CH-53s But the Soviets have no intention of letting the Marines have everything their own way, and begin to move forces forward to push the Yankees back into the sea: A USMC Bronco recon flight spots the incoming Soviet armour The Marines dig in And wait for air support to take out the threat To be continued..... -

In response to the 1986 invasion of Dhimar, USMC forces operating from amphibious assault ships in the Gulf of Paran and airfields in Dhimar spearhead the counter-attack with a landing on Parani territory to capture the strategic port city of Izmat and a major engagement begins.... -

So I took the excellent AH-1J International (TOW) by yakarov79 and added some tweaked USMC skins from his AH-1J (80) to give myself a faux AH-1T. I know that there are structural and other differences to the 'real' AH-1T but until we have one in SF2 my USMC units now have some heavier anti-armour capability in 1980's scenarios. -
