  1. Hi, I seem to experience a crash to desktop and even a hard freeze when switching to ground map radar. I think I am missing something here in the file hierarchy. Anyone experience this?
  2. I have noticed this for a while after installing SF2NA and a host of planes are terrains. When selecting CAP and light enemy air activity, I fly a very uneventful mission with no bandits at all in the terrains. Set it to Normal and there are 6-10 enemy aircraft. I remember in SF1 light enemy air activity gave me anywhere between 2-4 aircraft. Are there any settings I need to change in SF2's ini files to correct the lack of enemies when activity is set to light?
  3. Gepard, I did another CAP with my F-14D and launched 4 AIM-54Cs. All Phoenix missiles hit and none ran parallel. It seems to happen only if the targets are further than 75 miles away and I am flying perpendicular to their flight pattern (e.g. I am heading 000 and enemies heading 090). I also did not edit the seeker FOV or gimble limits.
  4. I used the TW length and it traps no problem now. I will just keep it that way. Thank you for your support.
  5. MIG-29 is the target. BVR shot at 85 miles.
  6. Image of what I am talking about. Here are the seeker settings of this Phoenix. SeekerFOV=60.000000 SeekerGimbleLimit=60.000000 SeekerTrackRate=60.000000
  7. What would cause a BVR missile to fly parallel to its target? Does it have to do with the seekergimblelimit or seekerFOV?
  8. I am flying the 96 F-14D. 06 does it too
  9. Hi, looks like my Super Tomcats I downloaded do not properly trap on carrier landings. Yes, I have the hook down. The suckers just don't want to grab a cable. I can land a stock F-14A from SF2NA after a couple scotches on the rocks and still trap. So it is not the pilot. Anyone have trap issues with any other downloaded aircraft?
  10. Pfunk, I. Not sure what negative RCS and Heat Signature values do but I ran completely out of ordnance and ammo in a 2 v 12 interception of bombers plus escort never being fired upon by missiles. My wingman was flying around like he was Dory from Finding Nemo
  11. Interesting. My F-22 Raptor stealth values are negative in the INI file.
  12. This should be fun. One of my favorite features in the IL-2 series the ability to belly land, blow off your canopy, jump out of the airplane and run away like your hair is on fire. While you can't do this in a TW game, belly landings would makes some nice photo ops.
  13. I reinstalled the whole package again and it looks like they are working now. This is very strange. I probably missed something. Thanks for the assistance
  14. Yes,I can confirm all the data is in there and the ini file allows me to fly them.
  15. I should also add that I have SF2V, SF2E, SF2I, SF2NA and it is patched to July 2013. Still no Starfighters. If I have to extract the LODs to fix this, where do I find them? Which catalog file?
  16. Hi, I downloaded and installed the DLC028 and the Mega Pack for the Starfighters. When I launch SF2V only the F-104C 67 and F-104C Da Nang show for the early Starfighters. What am I missing here?
  17. I found this in the MISSIONCONTROL.INI [Distance] MinEnemyStartDist=6000.0 MinFriendlyStartDist=2000.0 MinEnemySkipDist=12000.0 NearPrimaryDist=25000.0 MinimumMissionDist=50000.0 ActivationDist=50000.0 DeactivationDist=100000.0 ActivationRadarDist=300000.0 Does editing this fix this issue? Also, where do I put it after it is extracted in the SF2 folder hierarchy for mods?
  18. Apologies. I should have elaborated that this is the random generating single mission creator.
  19. I notice when you start a single mission "In Air, Near Enemy Base", I am literally bounced within 20 miles of the merge. Is there a way to update any INI file to increase the distance of contact to 50 to 100 miles?
  20. Fixed $3.99 later lol Thanks both of you
  21. I feel like such a Strike Fighters newbie despite mastering SF1. I dropped all the aircraft in the aircraft folder, effects in effects, decals in decals... you get the idea. I can select the Starfighter I want to fly (F-104C) and change the loadout. However, once the game loads, I am floating in the air at zero knots, cockpit view looks horrible like I got whiplash, and external view of the plane is invisble with only my sidewinders showing! What went KAPUT?
  22. It was added. The name even matches the sound file itself. Still no sound. [sound] EngineSoundName=GE J79 GE-11_1 AfterburnerSoundName=JetBurner DamagedEngineSound= FlapsSoundName=Flaps AirbrakesSoundName=Airbrakes GearsSoundName=Gear
  23. Boy SF2 is very different from SF1 that I used to mod. How do you get the sounds to work in SF2? I created a sounds folder within the objects folder for the F-105G I downloaded. Still no sound. What am I missing here? Here is how the folder is set up: C:\Users\CPU1\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Vietnam\Objects\Sounds Still no J79 sound.
  24. KJakker, I am buying Europe and Israel tonight. Next will be North Atlantic. I want my Tomcats.
