Markings not showing
tiopilotos replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Since there is such a complete pack for A-7, I think there is no reason to modify the existing SF1 A-7H. To be honest I had seen this great pack before but I had totaly forgotten to download it! Anyway thanks for your help and your reminder! -
Markings not showing
tiopilotos replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I did this and the air force markings are shown now but the S/N numbers are not shown! I probably have to make some more changes. Any ideas? Thanks. -

Well, I don't know which numbers are correct for DecalLevel and DecalMaxLO, so take a look on what's inside the decals.ini [Decal001] MeshName=Lownose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFIns Position=2.50,-0.05 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal002] MeshName=Lownose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFIns Position=2.50,-0.05 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal003] MeshName=nose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFIns Position=2.50,-0.05 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal004] MeshName=nose DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFIns Position=2.50,-0.05 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal005] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFIns Position=2.50,-0.05 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal006] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFIns Position=2.50,-0.05 Rotation=0.0 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal007] MeshName=LeftOuterWing DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=TOP FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFIns Position=-4.70,-2.70 Rotation=30.0 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal008] MeshName=RightOuterWing DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=BOTTOM FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFIns Position=4.70,-2.70 Rotation=30.0 Scale=1.6 DecalMaxLOD=4 [Decal009] MeshName=Verttail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFFin Position=-5.75,1.40 Rotation=2.5 Scale=1.62 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal010] MeshName=Verttail DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\HAFFin Position=-5.75,1.40 Rotation=-2.5 Scale=1.62 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal011] MeshName=Verttail DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\D\num Position=-5.68,0.91 Rotation=2.5 Scale=1.35 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal012] MeshName=Verttail DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=A-7h_mf\HAF340\D\num Position=-5.68,0.91 Rotation=-2.5 Scale=1.35 DecalMaxLOD=3 -
Black R-98 missile
tiopilotos replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I think you're right. All R-8/98 missiles use the same name inside the .LOD file. I will just change the .bmp name. Thanks guys! -
Black R-98 missile
tiopilotos replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I opened the .LOD file with hexeditor and the name inside is not AA-3RB.bmp (Version R-98) but AA-3.bmp How can I change the name inside the .LOD file? -
wings broken at 1.09 mach!
tiopilotos replied to Teras's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If a SAM is chasing you, go to low altitude or use chaffs / flares while manuevering hard at normal speeds (300-400 kts). At 1.09 mach you can't make fast manuevers and you become an easy target especially for modern SAMs. -
wings broken at 1.09 mach!
tiopilotos replied to Teras's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I don't know what happens to SF2 but in real life a hard manuever with 1.09 mach could be disastrous. I mean the structural limit of the aircraft is limited. At 1.09 mach a very instant manuever can cause very serious damage to wings and fuselage, so maybe it isn't so unsual to see wings broken during so hard manuevers. -
A few Questions
tiopilotos replied to Wodin's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Also when you have been hit by missiles or guns, usually most of the damage has been done at the back part of the aircraft and when there's a fire, you can see the fire warning lights in your cockpit.. -
Ammo problem
tiopilotos replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Actually I solved the problem. I changed the lines in aircrafts data.ini and that's it. I just can't understand what happened suddenly. -
Ammo problem
tiopilotos replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Everything was fine. Guns were in the correct subfolder (Objects folder ---> Guns folder). It just happened suddenly and keep in mind hat when I installed Ordnance weapons pack there was no problem in the beggining and aircrafts could use ammo without changing aircraft's data. -
Question about SAM's
tiopilotos replied to Rapadelic's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Do you see operational SA-5 missiles in SF1? I mean, do they have both radars and launchers? I have only seen SA-5 only in weapon packs and never in any terrains. The only SAMs I can see in the red side are SA-2, SA-3, SA-6, SA-7, SA-8, SA-9, SA-13. -
The stock F-4E has in its userlist.ini Greece, so I think I can create a blue skin in some way and then add it to the aircraft folder. Wrench, thanks for your advice but how can I make this happen? I mean, I am not a so advanced moder. Can you explain to me with some more details? I must say that in combatace.com moders and members provide help and addtional information quickly. Thanks guys!

Ammo problem
tiopilotos replied to tiopilotos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Actually I've installed the ordnance weapons pack which includes gun pack. The point is that this problem appeared today! -
Suddenly many add on aircrafts lost their gun ability! They just can't use ammo! In the loadout menu ammo is not available! However, stock aircrafts don't have this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Actually there is a HAF F-4E AUP in SF2 download section but these aircrafts were upgraded in late 90s. I just want to have the original greek HAF F-4E that was operational between 1974 - 2005. These aircrafts were using the great blue camo during 80s - late 90s. These are some lines from the aircraft's data but I think I should just copy data.ini from SF2 F-4E because convertion here seems to be hard. Thanks.

Hey guys I followed the instructions on how to convert old aircrafts to be flyable on SF2 but I have a problem with the greek F-4E. I can't solve the problem with the back landing gears. They are sink in the runway. I changed the rolling radius of the back gears many times in order to make them look normal but all the time the back part of the aircraft sinks in the runway. Also this greek F-4E is very manueverable than an average F-4E. It looks like the manueverability of Mirage F.1.
