  1. check the RLE compression. if you dont uncheck the box in GIMP it keeps it. does exactly what youre talking about (dont recall how to address this in PS) quickest way to diagnose is file size; if its stupidly small (single or small double digit kb) then RLE compression is probably on
  2. now now. did you mean Birmingham, or Montgomery?
  3. depends on who your talking to. given the military nature of the game, grid would probably be better. you'd be looked at might strange for a few moments if you said map square in the US Army. probably followed by a lecture on terminology while youre in the push up position
  4. nose door art. just another stickeriffic improvement i offer....
  5. hey, we kids of folks from the 50s and 60s get it too. we just had that bridge between the networks going off the air and 25/8 pron on the iPhone
  6. Viper Pit

(cue Queen "One Vision" ala Iron Eagle) mando screenie
  7. would that be considered a strategic target in the terrain?
  8. Humpday Heavies

“The game was hide and seek, played over a million square miles of ocean. The losers died.”
  9. Viper Pit

    Ramstein, June of '86
  10. who could he be talking about? do we know this guy? oh wait...
  11. Seasons Greetings from the 86th Tac Fighter Wing
  12. jsut another daily commute to Fulda.....
  13. very cool, although my thought would be closer to "fuckin Irene...." meanwhile in colder climates
  14. Forty four years ago this weekend (or 83 years?) The USS Nimitz Battle Group experiences an electrical phenomenon. While details are still highly classified, it has long been rumored that VF-84 managed to get teh last two kills by the USN over the IJN...
  15. Viper Pit

started off promising. but only got two of a half dozen nose arts for this squadron (circa 1987)
  16. have them on constantly (anytime the aircraft is drawing power basically) but set low enough brightness to be unnoticeable in daylight would be my thought but i also thought setting them up as part of the model (rather than as system in data.ini) did that
  17. nice line up. kinda like SAM City in Hanoi. be a shame if something were to happen to all those pretty trucks
  18. Viper Pit

Big Boss of Hahn, 87 (and the 313th Tac Fighter too)
  19. my links are to joe baughers site. first is direct to search engine, the second was results of a UH-60L search to show EricJ that Army birds can be found personally i find it most useful for confirming losses, modifications and retirement dates. unit assignment info on there is ..... abit trickier
  20. well i do have every A and C model (as well as the corresponding two holers) dialed in. it was just a handier transition to the Block 25s at teh moment the funky boss tails was a Germany thing, looking at Hahn and Ramstein... (coming soon. ish)
  21. 17th Air Force, having to be difficult. cant just shadow the tail code letters like everyone else. oh no. i will have to do the tails as decals for this and the 86th. how ever will i manage?
  22. "hey sir, why do we drink Bitburger in the ready room when we're stationed at Hahn?" "shut up Carl"
  23. says who? the Army uses the same serial system as the Air Force. just type in the aircraft type and get a result like so http://cgibin.rcn.com/jeremy.k/cgi-bin/gzUsafSearch.pl?target=&content=UH-60L
  24. really? thats like the number 2 site for most modders after CA http://users.rcn.com/jeremy.k/serialSearch.html
  25. it'll probably get a little smaller, but its been fun dancing it around base on one pic, just to see how it is on another bird. just trying to average it out and fit the model to boot (i now know why decal sheets specify specific kits they were developed for!) the other fun is getting the tail decal together. 313th will have the wing king, which is totally different than any other tail. so its markings wont be on skin.....
