Just as teh title says. evening 2 Sep 14, esp weird was the messages left on the site one stating Well this just sucks. I went to the place it normally is and it wasn't there. MySQL answered, "Nobody is home, try again later." Because I'm nice I saved the report above. Please contact someone and hurry people are getting impatient. and the other saying "Hello it's Marvin the MySQL database. If you are seeing this page I've finally lost it. I no longer can add two plus two and come up with five, that's close right? I wrote down a few things above and it's possible something is messed up with stuff. When hitchhiking the universe, don't forget your towel. " those are what makes me wonder what happened

Presenting ... The DC-10-30 Airliner! This bird is created from Marcfighters KC-10 model and some ini editing by yours truly to remove the AAR equipment. in this version the aircraft is shown as many airlines flew her in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. This supersedes the previous version. INCLUDED DC-10-30 aircraft (template included) with 70s,80s and 90s skins decals for same flight folder to modify nations and formation inis terrain folders to modify limited nations list for all stock terrains folders to adjust ODS, NF5 and SF2NA Exp Pack CREDITS Marcfighters............. KC-10 physical model daddyairplanes........ conversion, new skin and template, decal work and ini edits Kesselbrut................. for his C-130J-30_cockpit THANKS TO TK ... for the base game Marcfighters ... for allowing me to run amok with his old baby Wrench, eburger68, Gepard, and the overall community ... for much advise and technical support on this project slartibarfast, viggen, macelena and others who crash tested this thing for me ******************************WARNING******************************************************************************* this bird is rather old, and has its limitations. it is not meant for flying on recon missions, but rather mainly for eye candy and somethin to possibly intercept or escort. while you CAN fly it, that does NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD. that said buyer beware all quirks of this bird like the pitch down on gear and flap retractions and the non moving control surfaces. ****************************USE OF THIS MOD************************************************************************* I will allow fairly free use of this mod in any other mod. What i (at this time) request is that you do not create a new skin based airline for it. the airlines are on as tga so that many airlines show up at one time. A seperate say "Pan Am" skin will ruin the effect and there will be 8-9 Pan Am birds on the tarmac. Any airline you would like to see, pm me and i will either tell you how to make it or time allowing make it and add in. Thank you. again, thank you for downloading this and i hope you enjoy it Kevin Unruh aka daddyairplanes 8 Sep 2015 -

The KC-10 Extender I made this mod after noticing that the aircraft in ODS was using a skin that was not use IRL until 3-4 years after Desert Storm. This fixes up skins for the Douglas (White over Grey with Blue cheatlines), Shamu (Green/Gray over Gray)and Gunship Gray schemes. I also added historical serial numbers to each skin, and did the unit markings tied into each serial number. (for you advanced modders out there, tied it as a 2 level rather than a 1 level). This will allow several units to appear when they show in game on the ramp. Installation just add Objects folder to your mod folder. If installing into an ODS install, allow overwrites. Additional Warning ************************************************************************* this really should be left as an AI controlled plane. it is not really for any missons that would be represented in game anyhow. i just skinned it up to satisfy a little historical accuracy in the game. ************************************************************************* Credits Marcfighters..........the model and original skin(served as a base for template) eburger68.............revised data.ini that made the FM more manageable myself................all other skins, template and tgas TK....................the game itself, and our ability to keep modding special thanks to Muesli, for helping me out trying to get the Dutch in the game as well. suggestion to those with mission editor: why not set up teh tankers on an orbit at a waypoint of a mission? then you could "simulate" tanking as part of the missions...... SF2 and Win10 the questions begin
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
huuh, does win7 go backwards compatable with the DX version? was running dx11 on my Win 7 Home Prem laptop. force dx9 was false in the options ini. has been just fine as was but out of curiousity loaded dx9 on my win7 system and forced dx9. had better (tho honestly not by much) fps the way i had been doing business. back to frankenrig, tried to DL directX9.0c, didn't like it as being too new an OS for that version. esp wierd given it loaded 10 min earlier on my Win7 system. used the feedback app to ask about backward compatability or allowing DX9 to load. -

Damaged Russian Submarine cornered by Swedish Navy?
daddyairplanes replied to JonathanRL's topic in The Pub
why? to give the Swedes itchy trigger fingers in time of real war. then we know they will already suspect soviet activity and shoot first, and can send our subs elsewhere..... -

working a new pit for the Extender, or just getting rid of that hud? the DC-10 uses the same, and a pit for that would be even nicer than for the tanker......... i just left the pit in there as was when i reworked it. they are meant to be AI due to limited missions in game, but i did need it to fly em and see how the skins were progressing. figured others might like to fly it as well even with the not so accurate cockpit -

Campaign default skin
daddyairplanes replied to 1977Frenchie's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
In your campaign.ini , the squadron will still be VA-176, not 176BEE. Also weird that USN is in lowercase in the texture.ini, does the skin show in single mission dropdowns? Dont get too discouraged. Inis are very demanding that you be specific else they give very weird or nonfunctional results -

daddyairplanes replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
having worked on several minimal skins this year i see both sides of this coin. less tiles (1 or 2) can be a nightmare for the skinner in trying to figure out where things are (see pic of Marcfighters 1 tile tanker skin as i was first working on it). but the heavies that Veltro often works on dont need as much detail as say the fighters and attack because the SIM has no real purpose for them. we SIMMERS want them because they add elements that are missing so far........... that said Veltro please go on doing what you do as you bring many lesser known or unavailable birds to the nest. more tiles per skin would be nice to work with, but we have so few modelers right now that i for one will work with what i've got. and (i believe) we will help as can, but like all other modders we work what interests us first typically then move to other projects THIS is what fewer tiles leads me to do..... -
SF2 Series DACT Reports And Related A2A Discussions (Game only)
daddyairplanes replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
to all besmirching the St Louis Slugger........ keep in mind it was initially designed as an Interceptor in an age where dogfights were dead and missiles would kill the bad guys at least 10 miles away. yeah , Vietnam shattered that myth and all fighters since (such as the Super Bug) have at least paid lip service to that lesson. but like anything else, play to your strengths and his weaknesses and a brick wall will smash anything in its way. the Phantom will transition up and down better than anything of its era (MiG17/21). weps, well thats why they double tapped Sparrow shots IRL. as for later in life(the 80s) , Phantoms were mainly used for interceptor mission in the ANG and on Midway classes that couldnt handle the Tomcat. all others used it for A2G work and any kills would have been incidental face shots on ingress or egress. -

UPDATE FOR STORM'S F-4N PHANTOM 2 ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** ** NOTE: THIS IS FOR USERS WHO DO NOT HAVE THE THIRDWIRE DLC F-4N. IF YOU HAVE THAT DLC THEN DOWNLOAD THIS FILE ** ** ** ** THIS MOD, DUE TO THE USE OF THE F-4B_67 LODS, DOES NOT HAVE SLATTED STABS OR DROOPING AILERONS. AGAIN, IF YOU HAVE THE DLC, ** ** USE THE ABOVE FILE INSTEAD!!!! ** ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** This is an update for the F-4B_67 based F-4N by CA's own STORM. I have added DECM markings and several skins for Gull Grey over White and the Overall Gull Grey paint schemes. I started this project on STORMs N, then completed a version on the DLC N. This brings the work back to its starting area. That said if you have the DLC N i suggest getting that enhancement mod. But if you did not buy it or prefer this one, I've looked out for you too. Included - Renamed STORMs aircraft "F-4N Phantom II (STORM) to avoid confusion the DLC mod. Esp important for me as i did in fact have both!!!! - Added F-4N (80_Storm) aircraft for Overall Gull Gray and Low Viz Gray skins. - unit specific skins for all N Phlyers from 1974 until about 1982. - DECM antenea for the intakes, added via fakepilot method - the latest squadronlist.ini. Requirements Need SF2 Vietnam for the F-4B_67 lods Installation unzip, add folders to mod folder, allow merge and overwrite if needed Credits *STORM for the original mod *mppd for the DECM fairings *Thanks to Sundowner for his templates. With a Sundowner template, you have to work hard to screw up a skin!!!!! *mytai01. much of this work is based off of his model for decalling the F-4 Phantom. Some of the nn tgas are even lifted off his B model skins and adjusted into N models BuNos. Those that have seen his work will recognize much influence in this mod. *As with all my Phantom mods, thank you to Spillone104 for his J-79 effects. I do like them so, and hope you will as well. *Thanks to Gerwin, Sundowner, Blade, Wrench, Dave, mppd, Ghost531 and many others who have given me answers and resources to many technical questions the last year and a half i've been working this. *BIG Thanks to Icarus999 for catching a previous error in the mod *and as always thanks to TK who developed the game again thank you for downloading this mod and i hope that you enjoy it!
