What If Screenshot Thread.......
daddyairplanes replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Screen Shots
leave the windows Geary. part of the Phantoms magic was all the evolutionary rather than revoloutionary change. McAir had studies in for single seaters, but most of the changes were minor so they would keep rolling off the assembly lines. i think as is would be perfect for a what if single seater -
ah an old classic

Any US aircrafts not to use in europe terrain?
daddyairplanes replied to Rends's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
No A-37s. Oscar Dueces maybe, but more likely Reserves. BTW, F-106 msee one two week deployment in 75, operation cold fire i think. -
X-37. Been in orbit twice now. Bout the only complete info out there tho is that it exists, launch and recovery times.

What was your altitude? In game most WarPac missles have a hard time tracking you below 400-500 ft agl. Gunfire still works fine at all altitudes however. -
Will addon aircrafts appear as AI units in single missions/campaigns?
daddyairplanes replied to Rends's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
In single mission, yes. Just flew an intercept mission last night in an all props install. Lots of IAR80s for my stock Mustang to angle with. Campaign is a different story. You will need to do some ini editing to get it to show in campaign. -

just my .02 dollars, the early 80s fighters (F-15A, F-16A, Mig-27) are much more dominant against the opfor than the super fighters with Amraam. granted its been used against lower generation threats (and less well equipped) but the Amraam only has a 50% PK on my game it seems! -

Harriers blowing up on take off
daddyairplanes replied to Viggen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
are they taking off first? general consesus i've seen is that they are trying to keep formation with you doing 32 kts 125 ft off the water and failing miserably. but the issue isn't just Harriers as i've watched N model Phantoms do the same when i was working the skinpack. most of my fire ups at teh time were to check skin not fly, and i had left it on the Kitty Hawk off Iceland rather than a runway in Germany or Dhimar. -

Looking for a C-130 SEA skin
daddyairplanes replied to allenjb42's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
i was honestly more focused on doing the Euro 1 skins for the C-130s and did the SEA as more practice in skinning. i believe i included Dels templates with my add ons in there. @ KB... nice skin! may of the photos i saw when working my skin had both straightline and the scalloped. i personally chose to go wavy, no real recollection on why. need to tighten up the demarcation tho looking back.... -
F-105D/F Thunderchief ANG and AFRES skinpack
daddyairplanes posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: F-105D/F Thunderchief ANG and AFRES skinpack File Submitter: daddyairplanes File Submitted: 29 November 2013 File Category: F-105 This mod extends the in game life of the F-105 to match the real 1981 through 1984 retirements. It features skins for the early 70's, late 70's, early 80's and a special skin featuring the noseart of the 149th TFS of the Virginia ANG. The markings are as accurate as I can find through several days of searching the web for photos of the listed units. - Required: You will need SF2, SF2 Europe or SF2 Vietnam for the stock F-105D_66. - Included: Skins for 4 ANG and 3 AFRES F-105 operators. I have not included the Georgia ANG as that is represented in the F-105G mod. Also Included is an F-105F_66 aircraft. While the majority of F's were used as Weasels, conversion and proficiency traning still had to take place. Every Thud fighter squadron had at least 1 F on the books. Data.ini's have been edited also to reflect proper service years. - Credits: The Wrench, for his rerelease of ArmourDave's F-105F pack, as well as a few parts of TGAs that I used from his F-100D ANG skinpack. He even answered a stupid question by yours truly. TK, for the stock Thuds and ability to mod this game we call SF2. and me? well i just //////////////////////////////// THUD ANG AND AFRES UNITS //////////////////////////////////////////////// - 119th TFS, New Jersey ANG 1970-1973 - 127th TFS, Kansas ANG 1971-1978 (RTU for F-105s in USAF after 71) - 128th TFS, Georgia ANG 1979-1983 (only ANG Weasel unit, flew G, not represented in this pack) - 141st TFS, New Jersey ANG 1964-1981 (actually flew the B model) - 149th TFS, Virginia ANG 1971-1981 - 457th TFS, AFRES Carswell AFB 1971-1978 (flew the Thunderstick II model) - 465th TFS, AFRES Tinker AFB 1971-1981 (was originally the 305th TFS for first 13 months. Due to short timespan, left as 465th) - 466th TFS, AFRES Hill AFB 1971-1984 (initially flew B models, moved on to D in 1981) ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// I hope that you enjoy this mod and bring some old school weekend warrior pain to Warsaw Pact or Parani forces!
