SU 57 and SU 34 Aircraft
daddyairplanes replied to jodandawg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
im sorry but the wing span is a little big for the Viper version, and clearly that model should be using GE not PW engines. although thats an easy fix in the texture side of things -

i've been pretty lucky in that aspect. i do get alot of "would you consider" on skins and collaborations. lets say the one or two i've encountered that didnt take a clue if i said no, were jerks enough in other aspects to get an Erik ban hammer thrown. but 99.9% for me a simple "not interested, sorry" suffices for me -

damn, he stole my line -
the targets the ICBMs dont get to like the B-2 before it, its primary purpose is to be the manned component of the US nuclear triad. the only part that can be recalled if need be, or be retargeted or just search for targets if needed as for anyone else, we'll see since nobody here is a fortune teller. if you told me in Jan 2000 that the US would be fighting a counter insurgency in Afghanistan for 20 years I'd have said you were nuts just like everyone else at teh time i would have figured to be spending the rest of my military career doing peacekeeping just like i was in Kosovo at the time, didnt know there'd be a trip to Iraq and a couple Afghanistans coming up.... ------------ so who are we going to bomb with it? hopefully nobody. but somebody will probably get bombs delivered from one, especially if they have more than MANPADS guarding their skies. its not to expensive, it'll get used to show that it was "worth the money" much more hopefully we dont see it used for its primary purpose, although depending on where one lives we might not see that anyhow......

lets hope the primary war its being designed to fight never happens the secondary tasks will come though, especially with mentions of things like sigint and battlefield nodes and the B-2 has done alright over the last 30 years, including over Serbia (NOT a permissive air defense environment). the 117 got benched because 1) oppents had intel on it from the one shot down and 2) newer systems were coming online. off course, esp. for a military aircraft, its had a very active retirement.......

Air Force Thinking About an F-7 Light Fighter...
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in The Pub
overpowered for COIN. or in otherwords, perfect for the USAF mindset it would still be cheaper to use in that role than F-35 for sure and probably even F-16. and be the "similar capability" to the A-10 that Congress mandated, all except for the gun. thats the main reasons the USAF is thinking about a fighter version (especially that last one sadly) I agree it would be a good entry to the light fighter market, IF the USAF buys some for that purpose. its not the 60s and i dont think other countries will buy it if the US doesnt (like the F-20) -
although if they wanted to be accurate within the Tri Service System wouldnt it be an AT-7B? https://breakingdefense.com/2023/11/air-force-weighing-turning-t-7-into-f-7-armed-light-attack-jet-official/

Air Force Thinking About an F-7 Light Fighter...
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in The Pub
i disagree. best solution for a COIN aircraft (which is pretty much how it would be used) would be an M134. 7.62, but still with the high rate of fire. as a pod or in the nose i mean, its been done before while the AF is saying F-7, they arent gonna load it up with a freakin APG-83, GAU-25 and enough a2a and a2g ordinance to wing tthe second world war would interfere with teh B-21 budget too much -

i just realized this has been a helluva week for the future of the USAF, with both their new trainer and new bomber arriving at Edwards for the formal flight test programs

Air Force Thinking About an F-7 Light Fighter...
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in The Pub
yeah well BRRT is sadly going to be a thing of the past. but it did take the AF over 40 years to kill the Hawg this tho, if it gets an internal gun itll probably be 7.62 rather than even 20mm. but when i read the article visions of a supersonic Dragonfly kept poppin in my head. or call it the Super Tweet 2 even..... -

If you're doing it as a Pod, is your Gina set up for EO weapons? Alternatively, try looking at the data inis for later B-52G and Hs, the ones with TVS -
Helicopter
daddyairplanes replied to Falcon1364's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
a couple more pennies on my part.... almost any helicopter in here can be flown...... WITH PRACTICE (stomps feet).......... by the player where things get wonky quick, and why we dont see as much helo work in game is the AI wingmen. that is the biggest hiccup for helo in game and its not just a matter of duplicating the Harrier FM i mean if you wanted to put the time and ini work into it you could make the tanks on the ground player "flyable", right down to driving from a pit. but the AI tanks would all then do some bat$#!^ crazy stuff....... -
Strike missions only target cargo ships?
daddyairplanes replied to TheStig's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
at a minimum the ships should further go into you GroundObjects folder inside your Objects folder like so : D:\Users\a\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Vietnam\Objects\GroundObjects if it comes with missiles or guns those need to go into those folders within the Objects folder -

awesome. i flew back to NC from there after doing a delivery in Apr 2022. but all i got to see was two tankers and the 18 inches of snow that made my drive take 12 hours longer than expected!
