gary,,, lol,,,i thout i had an answer for you,,,but went to play the game,,,and you are right,,,the brackets are gone......

beerthirty.. open up windows explorer...(not internet explorer ) start>programfiles>accesories>windows explorer got to tools > folder options click on the view tab at minimum,,,,deselct "hide extensions for known file types" ( otherwise files like cfs3.exe show up as cfs3) also suggets show hidden files and folders. otherwise eventually you will be searching for a file that is right there,,but you cant see it. up to you if you want to show protected system files, but i always do,,,

werewolf,,, actually there are a few online missions. I dont think any of them are as submersive as the campaign missions, but then, its hard to get together a group that has the time to do 50 min. waypoints. but keep your eye out on the online forum in the mulitplayer section. you didnt say where you are from (considering time difference), but if you give us a date and time that you might want to try some missions, and/or some fun mp dogfight, good chance someone will accomodate you,,,(as long as its not 3 in the morning) lot of the new missions stump has built use the italian maps (alps are great....)...so join dah.

in case you didnt catch my typo i ran the overlay WITHOUT teamspeak running,,,and the overlay still works not that teamspeak isnt a good thing to have,,,, heaven forbid you should ever consider multiplayer,,,its great to be able to talk with whoever your flying with. another good way of getting fps is fraps,,(video capture software,,,,if your not recording video,,,it does not seem to be much of a resource hog,,,and the fps counter in that is much bigger than the teamspeak overlay one. and,,,i know ill get alot of static for even mentioning xp64, but thats the route i took. memory is way to cheap (respectivly) to be stuck at 3 gigs.

ok,,,didnt go so far as to take teapspeak off my compter to test,,,but ran the overlay with teamspeak running,,,and it worked. so, have a feeling it may just very well work without teamspeak installed,,,worth a shot anyways and,,,as far as your original post,,,that board supports 8gigs i belive,,,,with ram being so cheap,,,id take a quick hop over to the newegg site,,and see how much more memory is going to run you..

if you have teamspeak,,,the the teamspeak overlay,,,it allows you to display fps in VERY BIG numbers http://www.teamspeakoverlay.com/ not compatable with vista... and you know,,the overlay just may run even if teamspeak is not running........

stump put up an shortcut for the mission builder in the mp section of the forum,,,,cant say for sure if its gonna help you out. by programs,,,i assume you mean start > programs > obd.... this exe is a strange animal.....i stumled across the mb foder in my obd and clicked on the mb.exe and i got all sorts of error messages,,,when i found the shortcut off of programfiles > obd> missionbuilder, i looked at the properties,,,and there where no paramaters attached,,,,so dont know why you cant just click on the exe......im sure stump could tell us..

Ok,,,i've been listening to you all go on about how many ai you shot down, sticking out your chests,,,trying to grow moustaches... But lets face it,,your still playing against a computer. Now there is an opportunity to find out for sure if you have the right stuff.... Stumpjumper has a poll in the MP section for a dogfight contest.... Come on,,,break away from that cold dark corner you've been playing in,,and find out what its like playing with REAL people. considerein you BOTH are getting mismatched, then its not a case where one has an addon, and the other doesnt. unless i suppose you both have different addons... if either of you do have any non stock planes,,,you have to remove them from your aircraft directory in order to host and have someone who doestn have that plane to join. would like to know if the mismatch is the all.d.III planes. when one person had the 1.25 patch, and the other had the 1.26 patch, those planes all mismatched,,(along with others,,but these where the only ones that showed up) i know you said you you had the hotfix, and,,not sure if you can apply the hotfix to 1.25 without getting an error message, but is there any possibility one of you applied the hotfix to the 1.25 patch, and not the 1.26 patch? you can try this....host a game,,and on the same window where you select dogfight,,,,mission,,at the bottom select the change button on aircraft restrictions,,,select allow certain planes,,,and to start,,i would only pick 2 planes,,,,and see if you still have a problem... once you get your problems squared we are forming a mp group. should you be interested in joining go here http://www.freewebs.com/dovesandhawks/index.htm

yeah,,its funny how some of us, no matter how well things are running, still have to turn, twist, and push things,,,ususllay to the point where we screw things up, and end up wishing we had just left everything alone... but,,i guess thats just a part of human nature.. let me see if i have this right thou,,,, the sliders will contol the AMOUNT of detal you see, and really dont have much to do with the quality of that detail... the cc settings will control the quality of that detail... and,,,to carry just a bit forward,,,moving scenery/terrain from 1 to 2,,,or 2 to 3 is a vast improvement,,,,but,,,it seems to tapper off alot going from 3 to 4,,,or from 4 to 5 has anyone really noticed what the differnces in either scenery or terrain is ,,,,when going from 4 to 5?...or,,,do you hae to have your cc settings really up there,,,to notice the difference..

yeah,,i think i used the wrong term too,,, when i look quick to the right or left,,with trackir, the edge of the screen give me a flash of small white triangles...not sure what the correct term for that is.. will give each setting a couple days worth of flying before i go onto the next,,

lol...interlocer,,,are you the one i dropped off the off2 disk for???? well,,if so,,,glad to see you sprung for off3....when you going to join us for mp???? slowly but surly a group of us are getting some really good mp missions in,,,,if you get a change go to doves and hawks site and join up......you will LOVE the global layer file stumpjumper has made up....flying in the alps is great... http://www.freewebs.com/dovesandhawks/index.htm but anyways...back to video cards (where did i put my tylenol....) thru me on the edge setting,,,,i had started making changes slow...and only did aa at 2x,,,which only give you box and the 2 tent settings,,,,but figured out when you go to 4 it adds the edge.. i suppose if anyone setting is important to me,,,its antialiasing,,,i want my wires to be perfectly straigt as much as possible... the af setting (also now at 2x,,,,,if the other settings dont start to degrade will change that) made a big improvment on the scenery shimmering,,just like you said stll getting a bit of tear at the edge of the screen with the track ir,,,and have vsync always on,,,,,, and,,,another question i could pose,,,,,is it better to start with sliders high,,,and try and work contol center settings so that the game plays ok...or do you think its better to start with sliders medium,,,,work the contol center,,and then start moving up the sliders.. going to be hard to talk me outta getting planes off 5,,,,thats where i want the best detail possible..
