  1. Awesome. Thanks a million Stumper. I can definately put that pilot figure to good use. -Rooster
  2. Good company in here, lots of musicians. Heres my list - Playing guitar, music is my biggest passion. Mostly blues, country and southern rock. I dabble in playing a banjo too. - Motorcycles. This summer I rebuilt my Harley wannabe. It was totally wrecked and I got it for free. Its a 1983 Shadow 750VT. Next summer I plan on getting a "real" Harley. - Classic cars, Hot Rods - Custom paint jobs - Fishing and Hunting - and the givens, like women, drinking ect.... -Rooster
  3. Well I searched around for awhile and I can't find any dimensions for the Le Rhone either. Just the bore and stroke. -Rooster
  4. Sorry Rickety, forget I was involved in this thread. lol. Yeah, I can notice some performance increase on my PC, but its a relatively fresh build and isnt that gunked up with stuff yet. I believe the more hidden background programs youve got running the more you'll notice the increase in performance. I get around 2-4 extra FPS, but on my old PC that was loaded with junk (family computer) I got nearly 5-10 more FPS. -Rooster
  5. No prob BH. I'll see if I can dig up some dimensions from somewhere. -Rooster
  6. Thanks for the link to the tutorial hairyspin. Im trying to find an easy to follow step by step tutorial on how skin it and lay out the maps like they are in OFF with everything being on one DXT image. Can you reccomend any good ones? Thanks Widowmaker, its not OFF quality by any means but I'm kinda proud of it. -Rooster
  7. I also use Enditall. No trouble at all (knock on wood). And like billn said, just one click on the little skull and your good to go. -Rooster
  8. Can you make any use of these Bullethead? -Rooster
  9. Thanks for the kind words guys, they'll serve as encouragement for my next model. Hope to see some models from you this winter Lou. BH: I couldnt find any seperate 3views for the engine, so I just slid my model back a little and eyeballed it with my Aviatik 3view to get the proportions close. Then I found a good photo of the engine and added in the details. -Rooster
  10. Finally finished up my Aviatik C.Ia model. It was definately a learning experience....a long, frustrating learning experience, but I got her done. Theres a few mistakes and parts where you can tell that I was getting impatient, but its way better than I ever thought I could do. I didnt make a skin or FM since it was just for getting a grip on Gmax, But now I ALMOST know what I'm doing. -Rooster
  11. Lookin real good BH! I've tried using Gmax about 3 times before and found it way too complicated and beyond my abilities, but this time Im giving it one more try. Taking it real sloooow and researching everything that needs to be done and how to do it thoroughly. So far I've got a pretty good start on an Aviatik C.I. -Rooster
  12. Awesome Winder! Cant wait. -Rooster
  13. Hey itif, The streaky color comes from how the aircraft was painted at the factory. The paint was a wash made up of a mix of linseed oil and a dark green/brown. The surfaces were hand painted in long strokes one at a time. The brush wasn't re-dipped in the wash until it was almost dry, thats why there are lighter and darker strokes. Hope this helps, -Rooster
  14. Ah ha! Got it! (I know everyone was reading this thread on edge of thier seat ). I had been accidentally saving my skins as the wrong type of DXT file. It should be saved as a DXT1 but somehow my selection changed to DXT3. Lost my best pilot for that one. Had 15hrs and 16conf kills. Oh well. -Rooster
  15. Alright, well a re-install didnt do it either. It must be something I'm messing up when making my skins, but I dont know what. Any ideas? -Rooster
  16. Congratulations Olham. There'll be a party in the messhall tonight! Great competition everyone, I really enjoyed it. Thanks for putting it on for us Lou. -Rooster
  17. Thanks RedDog, I didn't think I was ever going to figure that one out. lol. I learned alot of good stuff looking that oddity up though. -Rooster
  18. Awesome. Thanks CJ. You weren't kiddin, your brother is a really good banjo player. Thier version of "Man of Constant Sorrow" is really good too. -Rooster
  19. Wow good ones Lou. I had no idea at all what #46 was. At first it looked like someone just threw parts a of a SPAD and an Albatros together. But after alot of searching I finally tracked her down. Its a Wibault C-1, with a 220 hp Hispano-Suiza, 1918. -Rooster
  20. Nope. Not yet Widowmaker. Haven't had much time the past few days for OFF, but I'm hoping I can figure something out tonight. If all else fails a re-install should clear it up. -Rooster
  21. Believe thats a Constantinesco Fire Control Gear, invented by George Constantinesco when the R.F.C. was looking for a better synchronizer gear than Fokkers. The first plane to be fitted with it was a B.E.2c in 1916 and the first plane to go into service with the gear already installed were D.H.4s. 22. Thanks guys, wish I got on the board earlier in the game, since its just about wrapped up now, but this is the first one I caught that wasn't answered already. -Rooster
  23. Well, Im gonna jump in and take a stab at this one and say its a Rumpler 6B1, entered service in the summer of 1916 and was the seaplane version of the Rumpler C.I. It was used to protect German naval bases from air attacks. And thats all I really know about it. -Rooster
  24. Just checked something else.....this makes it a little more odd.....my skins show up absolutely fine in Quick Combat mode. No invisible planes anywhere. So now I have no clue what might be going on. -Rooster
  25. Thanks for the advice Bullethead, I checked and made sure I was naming the files right and I dont think thats the problem. My campign has me in Alby D.III earlys now and its the same thing. Guess I'll just wait until my current campaign (Its a good one so far) is over and try a re-install and see if that works out the issue. -Rooster
