  1. finally somebody who knows a little bit more than toranaga and kill bill, about one of my favourite subjects (samurai and medieval japan)
  2. take care and look after her. ladies in higher ages are often too proud to quit doing homestuff for a while, so make her take it easy. btw. i could also use new knees. are those bionic? if so, please tell me where to get them.
  3. yes, since it's actually not only a tracer mod, but a mod with reduced effects visible from the distance. the effects like particles and dust puffs, when hitting an enemy, gives you an unrealistic indication if you hit him or not, so i reduced it you can only see particles etc. when close enough. i also put away the exhaust smoke. better to say, exhaust smoke is still there when starting the engine or blipping, but not the black fume, which was also visible from far away and IMO looked more like a jet exhaust than exhaust fumes. also it was a try to gain some fps or at least reduce some stuttering for lower end rigs.
  4. just tried to imagine, how to step on elephant's toes. can be dangerous me thinks
  5. as an idea i want to try with my profile. i have usually smootheness at 100%. when creating a new pilot i'll use the same profile as always, just set the smoothness to maybe 20%. so everything is more nerveous and twitchier. so i can emulate having an inexeperienced pilot. and every flown hour i can raise the same number in smootheness. so after 20h flight, i have 40% etc. just an idea i will try with my next pilot. so as a rookie pilot i would act and aim and look around as nerveous as a rookie pilot should.
  6. there was a roland haifisch. a single seat scout. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_D.II
  7. just saw today the 500th download of sound tweak II. glad you like it . thank you all. creaghorn
  8. forgot the sound tweak my friend
  9. that's definitely no myth. it's even untrue that only clouds on 5 make the AI not see through them. they are also blind with clouds on 3 etc. the difference is just the mass of clouds. so in clouds 5 you have many more clouds and so the enemy has many more possibilities to get blind. maybe the observer eyes are not the same as pilots eyes? maybe it was just bad luck. i have seen many times even an AI chasing me, then turning away although i can still see him through layers. or him quitting beeing evasive although i can still see him little bit through the clouds.
  10. the mod was never intended to work with JGSE. at that time i didn't even know what JGSE is. if it would work with it, fine, but actually my mod is a copy and paste thing . i'm glad the glitch has obviously nothing to do with HPW's mod . maybe it is a ATI thing?
  11. don't know about this subject, but mccudden wrote in his book that he didn't like pushers, because there is lacking the warmth, which is usually coming from the hot engine and the propeller in front. so some kind of warmth there must have been i think
  12. HPW damage mod caused an immortality, despite the setting Dead is Dead, or better, it probably caused that workshop didn't recognize changes anymore. also deinstalling the mod again didn't make it work again. but that should be fixed with his latest mod. so did that nonvisible damages occure after you deinstalled his mod, or did it occure even before you have installed it. if it occured after you deinstalled the newest damage mod, than it seems it's still somehow broken. but as long as i know the latest damage mod should have fixed the glitch.
  13. @wodin @elephant are you using any kind of 3rd party mod?
  14. http://combatace.com/topic/44640-awards-system/page__hl__paarma here is the link to an older thread which reveals a little glimps to the new award system. you have a sith pilot? there are always two of them. a master and an apprentice. which one is your pilot?
  15. i'm surprised you don't look into the duty room often:dntknw: . that's essential for a long, immersive campaign. my standart procedure is to every newcoming AI pilot, i erase his kills so he has to earn his kills like anybody else. and if you have long enough careers going, you can see their progress like your own. you can see them die, see them getting kills within the time. more experienced AI pilots even survive very much longer than newbies. you really get a bondage with them. especially if you see them die after a virtual year or so. the best virtual comrade i had yet was horst pagels with 32 kills.
  16. of course all WIP, but i would like to see what differences compared to p3, have we found out yet. besides the obvious, cows, improved cockpits etc. did anybody notice the raindrops on the windshield?
  17. thank you. will try both settings. how do you know i have 4:3 and not 16:10? just wondering because i don't know. in workshop i have 16:10 but has nothing to do with ingame settings i think.
  18. good idea olham. i didn't calculate at all. to be honest, i'm so bad at maths, that if somebody would tell me, 5 x 2 is 10, i would laugh at him, thinking he is wrong, cause 5 x 2 is 12 of course . i just played with the settings and stayed with that what IMO looked the best. so what would you suggest? res. is 1920 x 1200
  19. IMO they look like they have just learned about the loss of a comrade
  20. the bigger the POV and surrounding, the better the FPS, because the less enviroment you can see in the screen, the less calculations the rig has to make. btw. i have 20 horizontal and 16 vertical on my 26" screen. looks perfectly believable when looking around. same like it looks like in real driving a car past buildings and other cars.
  21. As long as i know tsar nikolaus, wilhelm II. and george V. were even cousins. and the british royal family had the surname Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha, which they changed into windsor in 1917 due to political pressure of the british people and their antigerman attitude. don't know if true, but i heard that officially russia and japan are still in war because there was never a peace treaty since then to this day.
  22. cool . congrats to you and your daughter. . i think, beeing a granddaddy is a great job. you'll always be the good cop in the good cop/bad cop game the parents will have with her. you can always enjoy the good things with her, but when it's getting too tough, then you simply give her back to the parents and say "enough for today". a privilege only grandparents have. may she be blessed.
  23. the thing i know best from lousiana is tony joe white with his swamp rock. interesting dialect btw. in lousiana (where even a non-native english speaker like me hears the difference. if at all, then most non americans can seperate between texas dialect and eastcoast dialect.)
  24. very nice städtchen there olham .
