I downloaded and installed the new Nvidia BETA 260.63 drivers for Windows 7 64 bit and have been running them most of the day. It seems to me to give a slight performance boost but also the texture quality and rendering appears to be crisper and cleaner as well. They have a new installer too that saves your current nvidia settings and applies them to the new drivers. So just install them right over the top of your old ones if you feel like giving them a try. Unfortunately they still have not fixed the rear view mirror issue. Still, to me at least they seem rock steady and improve on both performance and quality. Thought I'd pass the info along. Hellshades Campaign Video #21 (9:47) - 720 HD FULLY VOICED [url= ][/url] I filmed a great campaign mission flying a Sopwith Pup in RNAS 8. We were tasked with Balloon Busting just behind enemy lines, however we had to take care of some Albatros DIIs before we could take our shot at it. Great dogfighting, tree top level stall recovery, rocket attacks on balloons and all in some really rotten weather. I had to do some fancy editing in order to get it all below the 10 minute youtube limit and for some strange reason it would crash to desktop every time I tried to convert it to 1080HD on the last stage of the editing process, so unfortunately I have to present it to you in 720 HD. It is fully voiced however so I hope you enjoy the video despite the fact it isn't quite as clear as my usual posts. Enjoy, Hellshade

Damn well written Dej. I agree with you on every point. The pup is a joy to fly and fight in as long as you don't mind being limited to 1 gun, 500 rounds and avoid chasing huns in a dive. Well done sir. Hellshade

I have been experimenting with different ways to reduce the size of the videos while hopefully not reducing the quality. One such attempt was to record the video in FRAPS at 1/2 size instead of full screen and then try to convert it over to an MPEG 4 compressed format. Unfortunately, once it starts off at 1/2 size there's no way to make it a genuine 1080 HD format. In the meantime, I filmed a great dogfight and even though it's only at 480, I think the flying and fighting is worth seeing. Don't expand it to full screen though or it will look simply awful. Sorry about that, but as they say - "you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs." There's a couple of minutes of non-stop turn and burn fighting, power dive attacks and multiple high speed passes within a few feet of the targets. No. We all just didn't want to hear about Snipes missing for the next 4 years after P4 is released. I still say they should just put Snipes in the hangers as part of static scenery but not put them in the game as AI or flyable. Hellshade

Great work on version 2.2 of the Damage Model, HPW. I really think it's a wonderful improvement for the sim. The more I fly with it, the more I love it. Kudos to a long, arduous job well done. Hellshade

No, I think Winder will be cruel and create Snipes that just sit in the hangers on the airfields (as static scenery) like they are being worked on, but can never be pulled out and flown. That way they could say they put them in the game. Hellshade

Thanks guys. Well as you well know, there is no shortage of ways to die up in the skies of 1916 - 1918 in OFF:BH&H. But sometimes - just sometimes - death is so close we can reach out and touch it, yet somehow it passes us by leaving us cold with sweat. Here's a video comprised of clips of the times I escaped death by a distance of about 20 feet or less. Generally, my reaction when this happens in the game is to shout "Holy #$&@!" however I didn't think youtube or the forum moderators would appreciate a video named that. So here it is... It most certainly does. I used to down 5 to 6 planes easy in just a Quick Combat mission. I'd say it cut my kill rate almost in 1/2 when combined with Creaghorns Ammo mods. Hellshade

I run the following now: Herr Prop-Wasche's Damage Model 2.2 - excellent DM to make things more challenging up there. Creaghorns Ammo mod (no tracers & no smoke, smoke trails only or tracers only) - makes accurate firing much more challenging Creaghorns Sound Tweaks II - fantastic engine sounds Hellshade

I'm starting a video series about a nameless pilot in Jasta 11 of JG1. It's tentatively called "Combat Diary of a JG1 Pilot" but I'm sure I'll think of something better as the series (hopefully) progresses. I'm leaning towards "Flying in Richtofen's Circus" for the series name. At any rate, the first mission on December 24th, 1917 had so much combat action in it that I had to split it into 2 videos nearly 5 minutes in length each. I barely escaped with my life. Sopwith Camels engaged us on patrol just behind enemy lines and we dove upon a group of Spads that were attacking our countrymen below us once we got back behind the lines on our way home. No voice and minimal text for these missions. The fighting and flying pretty much speaks for itself. Thank you all, gentleman. I have started work on the "Combat Diary of a JG1 Pilot". I started in late December, 1917 and the very first Campaign mission had so much action in it I had to splice it up into 2 seperate videos (and that was after cutting it down to just the combat alone!). Sorry, no voice acting in either of them. I'll just let the videos do the talking for our unknown pilot hero. Sort of a "silent documentary", if you will. I am uploading them now so hopefully by morning I'll be able to post them both. I hope you enjoy the series and, God willing, our unknown pilot hero will live for more than a week.
