  1. I guess I missed to find something. Happened before. I'll just search all buildings again and and kill everybody with a red target marker. Yesterday I killed a Chimera. They last a while in normal gunfire, but I remembered I had those M203 granade thrower. Hit it right in the mouth. It immediately stopped being so aggressive. Mmuahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!!
  2. Let's welcome the first OFF Forum Member in Saudi Arabia - welcome to this fine community, Abbay. Enjoy the flying over Flanders fields! Olham
  3. Update 26 December 2011 - 14:22 h Berlin time (= GMT + 1) Abbay, Saudi Arabia, added. The maps are in post 1 of this thread
  4. I have examined the structure and got to the cut scene. But after that: nothing. Back at the base, the commander wasn't there anymore. No tasks, no quests - nothing. Thanks for the link, Slarti.
  5. Thanks, markl - it's a mix of a shooter and RPG. I have made a lot of money with various jobs, got a very good combat dress and helmet, the best assault rifle incl. M203 granade thrower and top notch sniper scope; and a long range high precision sniper rifle. I had two "assistants", but I prefered to kill 9 Monolith Soldiers myself, cause I produce less collateral damage that way. My assistants live. They didn't see much of it. Four Monolith Soldiers were in a kind of trance prayer, when I opened that last big room. They were dead, before they could hit me. Maybe that was wrong - they might have told me something, that could help me to get on. Thanks for the link - I'll check for answers!
  6. I bet no one of you can help me: I'm stuck in "STALKER - Call of Pripyat". Killed all "Monolith Soldiers" in the bookstore, followed my last order and investigated the strange Monolith construct, but now I have no markers on my PSD, no visible goals - and no-one can help me further. Can you guys?
  7. You crazy lot, alltogether!!! Pol, you've been playing Battlefield III - and I've seen that!
  8. In place of all Ostfriesen, I say: I'm honoured. The tea, of course, comes from Assam - but the Ostfriesen created this strong, malty blend of the finest from there. When there was still a lot of moor cultivation and draining work, farming and dyke building, the people needed something against the cold. Something other than Schnaps, for the days work. Ostfriesen-Tee was closest they could get to a real drink.
  9. Sounds good, Bullet! Here is what I got for that whisky: Aroma: Intense peat smoke with notes of iodine and seaweed and deep rich sweetness. Palate: Dry peat smoke fills the palate with a gentle yet powerful sweetness, and then give way to hints of sea salt and hints of wood. Finish: A long, elegant finish of peatiness fulfilled a lot of salt and seaweed. Powerful and spicy aroma characterize this malt. The taste is extremely complex, with smoky notes. The finish is smoky and hot. Lagavulin is the best-selling series of Malt Classic Malts of Scotland. (Google Translator, but you get what they mean) I gave up drinking anything, but when I read this, I can almost taste it on my tongue! Have one for me, friend, will you? Merry Xmas days, Bullet!
  10. "Mmuahahahahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!!"
  11. "Gemütliche Weihnachten" with the ones you love, OvS and Pol - enjoy some well deserved days off (and I mean "off" - not "OFF"!)
  12. Thanks a lot, elephant & Pol! Must be hard to be a dev. If you use all your time for working on P4, the people moan about not getting another movie. Do they produce videos, other people might complain: Hey you should better work and get P4 done! Remember, guys - they have families, and it's Christmas time. Good things will come to those who can wait. Merry Christmas everyone!
  13. How is such a download done? I think I should have Real Player, or at least Windows Media Player.
  14. A fine tradition, Lou, and a fine sory! Thank you all for your good wishes. Here is another tradition; the moving scene from the film about the WW1 Christmas Truce - it really happened. Joyeux Noel - Frohe Weihnacht - Merry Christmas .
  15. Euch allen und all Euren Lieben wünsche ich aus Berlin: "Frohe Weihnachten und ein gesundes, glückliches 2012 !" I wish all of you and all your loved ones from Berlin: "Merry Christmas and a sound and happy 2012 !"
  16. Hey, buddy, I must object! I have similar specs, and they ARE exiting!
  17. Yes, that should work wonders against overheating, Widowmaker. I have a liquid cooling on the CPU, so if OFF2 should be more resource-hungry, I could overclock it. Devs, have you heard that? We are ready for it now! ...
  18. Capt. Winters, I would also suggest to click on the middle one of the 3 symbols right of the resolution. The left/first on is "minimize", the second is "maximize" (or how it's called in English) - this one will give you the video in it's best perfect size. Of course you can make it "full screen" with the third symbol, but then you will notice the losses a lot, that result from YouTubes transformation. Edit: skip that thought. It wasn't wrong, but I just checked the full screen quality, and it is very good! .

    OT -- Cats

Perhaps we are just not fluffy enough... ? No, I think that language made it possible for us to disguise our real intentions. Since I act more instinctively and less thoughtful and false, I'm gaining ground! (So maybe when I'm 70, some girl will fall in love with me?)
  20. RTB is "Return to base", I guess, and Winder answered all questions in his typical short "this all goes off the time I need for building OFF Phase4, guys!"-manner. But even if it will be history soon - when you are at an airfield that allows it better - like Bertincourt - you can see Halberstadt landing fine. And they don't even crash into each other. I don't promise it will always work, but when I was there in August or early September 1916, it did.
  21. They can! They only don't always want to! But when they made a landing fine, and the following wingman doesn't crash into them, then you can see them taxiing, coming to a halt, and remaining visible and there with you - for as long as you don't quit, Sir! Seen that many times. In P4 they seem to be REALLY landing fine! I'll come back to the mods with the Pacific campaigns after Xmas - I just cannot really concentrate on it now. Customer: "And what about my cumquats?!?!" W.C.Fields: "Coming! Coming! I'll be with you in a minute, Sir!"
  22. Well - that's what I said. I wrote: ...there are no aircraft around anywhere, except the ones spawned for the player's mission. Nothing bad with that; seems it's just a limitation that had to be made, to be able to provide the player with the most modern graphic effects. But it does feel wrong to me, when the squad mate, who landed before me, disappears after some seconds like a miraculous wizzard - zapp! - gone. Or when I KNOW, that there won't be any other aircraft underway anywhere else, when I fly my Lone Wolf patrol and decide to change waypoints. Just not the same immersion. But this is going in a direction I did not intend, when I wrote the above. I wanted to speculate about the different ways a sim can be built, and what restrictions this may bring about for each of these ways - that you can't have all the plus points merged together in one sim - not yet; and maybe not for a longer time in future. No sim-bashing intended; no sim-defending necessary, honestly. .

    OT -- Cats

Mmuahahahahahaaaaa!!!!!! Good one, Fafhrd! (Who gave you that funny name?) I'm neither a cat man nor a dog man - I like them both, each for their natural ingredients. But if I would have an animal living with me, it would probably rather be a cat. I like it, that they are not so extremely dependant on the leader's ideas and actions. Cats do more what they just like to do, and don't do so easily, what they don't like to. Some think because of that, that cats are not so sociable. That is definitely not true. They need their humans - and not only for feeding them - and love them a lot. once in every year I have one as a guest, and he is lovely. Comes in regularly to disturb me in the middle of some flying - just because he needs a little cuddling. Then, when he had enough to make it for the next hour or so, he strolls off again. Sometimes I think, he might know, how cuddly he is in his fine fur.
  24. Higher than my credit rating too, Carrick - indeed!
