  1. Creaghorn, I have just seen "THE DARK KNIGHT" for the first time, and now your avatar really makes me worry...
  2. ...so all I needed now would be to get rich?
  3. Yes - not quite the same as Istanbul, but at least possible to take a ride with this line. They seem to have the legendary Pullman Restaurant carriages - important bit! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pullman_train_%28UK%29
  4. Thanks for the tip, Creaghorn - I actually never saw that one.
  5. I guess that's why they call it VTOL - Vertical takeoff and landing.
  6. You know what I like a lot, guys? This full rich touch of nostalgia, of the spirit of that time. Okay, I know - the poor people didn't have Mahagony wood and brass clocks, but that's the good about nostalgia - in hindsight everything looks great. Here it is the style of the British Empire - he afterglow of the Victorian Age. You got that captured so well in your Manager here - first class!
  7. I'm just reading "Orient Express" by Graham Greene, and started daydreaming... That would be a dream - a train ride on the Orient Express, or Stambul Express, as the British called it once. I would ride first class, have a sleeping department for myself (or perhaps my lady and me - I'd think about it). Most of the time I would be sitting in the dinner waggon and eat four course meals, accompanied by some rich wines (finesse not necessary - the bouguet would be shaken down from all the rattling anyway), ports and excellent brandy. (Well, it will remain a dream. The train doesn't exist anymore, I am not rich; and I even stopped drinking. But dreaming must be allowed...) Wiki has a very detailed description and history - I had not known, that there were so many lines and changes. http://de.wikipedia..../Orient_Express
  8. abyss, look at the video again and use "pause" to see the "QuickCombat" Manager in detail and with time. I think you should be very happy with it.Make sure to watch at highest resolution.
  9. Yes, of course - but MvR's prop was broken. And even a slightly bent prop axis should cause severe misbalance.
  10. Ah, yes, this shows, how the wingtip would touch ground - thanks the pics, Jim! I wonder if von Richthofen could have just put another prop on - wouldn't the propeller axis possibly get bent?
  11. Just found this site with photos of Salis (not sure if these are all his aircraft): http://pegase.foxalpha.com/search.php?Venue=6
  12. . OVER FLANDERS FIELDS "Hawks & Doves" .
  13. Oh yes, Sir! Oh yes, Sir!
  14. Lots learned again - thank you guys! JFM, look at the ailerons - looks like he countered some roll movement. If only the upper wing tip is damaged, it would be odd that this would be from touching ground - only a summersault could lead to this, but I guess your telephone/powerline idea is more plausible.
  15. It is a strange film, which I did like to watch once, when I was totally unprepared, but not so special that I would watch it again, I think. It is about Guynemer a bit (tuberculosis and fear from altitude), but very freely. The French title is L'Instinct de l'Ange See more here: http://www.cdunivers...asp?pid=7685271
  16. Hey, that's a good feeling one. Only too long - Pol wanted something shorter than "Between Heaven and Hell" - Could one say it like this? OVER FLANDERS FIELDS "Where Angels Fear"
  17. Thanks, von Paulus - I'm glad I'm not the only one with question! Makes me feel old. I actually hate the fast growing amount of shortages - but use a lot of them myself meanwhile. Oh, the modern times - they are a'changing faster than I can spell "Over Flanders Fields"...
  18. MikeDixon, MPs are good for what they are - for flying missions with friends. It is big fun, and I do it occasionally. But more than anything else do I like a proper Campaign, that makes me feel to be part of a war in a specific theater. The more immersive that is done, the better. P4 will make a giant step there - I can hardly stop drooling! In MP, I don't really feel to be in that war - I only feel like playing a mission. (I also never ever fly QuickCombat).
  19. Bullethead, I bet they will sort the different jobs out for the correct squadrons. My wildest speculation is this (and I don't expect them to give anything away yet): As the sim always knows the exact coordinates - how would it be, if you had to make recon photos, and the sim - knowing wether you have been at the right spot or not - will tell you were successfull or not, in the debriefing. That would make photo-recon as valuable for the flyer as it was for the HQ. It should be even possible, that you make a vertical shot, which is later shown in your debriefing window. My wildest dreams only yet - who knows what's possible...
  20. What the heck is MMO? ManyMultiplePlayers? Ans SP is SinglePlayer? Do you mean, it could not be played as a Single Player Pacific Campaign? Cause, then they could keep it.
  21. Today I added our new member p3r to our OFF Forum Pilots Maps. He lives at the latitude N 68° 48' - our highest flier in Europe now! Welcome to "Over Flanders Fields" and the Forum, p3r! You have clearly beaten our member Hasse Wind (Finnland) in altitude advantage. I hope you enjoy OFF at least half as much as I do, and you'll be fine! And if you have any questions - we are a helpful community - just ask. Blue Skies! Olham
  22. Update 14 December 2011 - 13:52 h Berlin time (= GMT + 1) p3r, Norway, added. The maps are in post 1 of this thread
  23. Yes, of course - but a Zero and a Wildcat don't make a Campaign!
  24. Ah, thanks, Captain Winters!
