  1. I have got credited with destroying a "ground target", when I once had destroyed an aircraft. So it's okay to attack them. But it's easier to destroy tents, and you may even go for wooden chests - they often contain explosives and blow up wonderfully.
  2. Lewie, if you want to fly a single mission, you select a pilot in "Pilot Dossiers" in the start screen. then you click on "Quick Combat" also in the start screen. You now get a menue, where you can choose aircraft, enemy craft, numbers of pilots and their qualities. If you want to start a Campaign (which is the most immersive in OFF), you select a pilot and click on "Campaign" then. Where and when the Campaign begins, is sorted, when you create the pilot. Creating one, you can select time and place and squadron etc. Then there is a more detailed way to fly "Quick Combat". In "Workshops" you find "CFS3 QC" at the bottom. If you click that, you get a menue, where you can select more detail for creating a single mission. You can even select from a wide variety of weather.
  3. Well, you should thank James Dietz more than me - hope he wouldn't mind. But it's a desktop meant to honour his great work.
  4. Another good title leant from a good book about WW1 aviation would be "High in the empty Blue".
  5. Elephant, did the skin appear after your change of the name? Herr Prop-Wasche, I will contact you on the weekend about JSGME.
  6. These two paintings are so amazing, that I had to merge them into one desktop theme (1680 x 1050 pixels). It adds nicely to the whole WW1 air combat sim and OFF forum.
  7. Lewie, in QC you can select and mix any aircraft you want to fight each other. In "Workshops" is the CFS3 QC, where you can even select the aerodrome and the exact type of weather. And as Hellshade says: HitR is a great add-on.
  8. You could search through the aces over at "The Aerodrome", TaillyHo: http://www.theaerodrome.com/aces/index.php
  9. A title for OFF Phase 4 is difficult. What about: "When Hell froze over, they climbed the Skies" - joke! But book titles like "Sagittarius rising" would perhaps suit. Also: "Cross and Cockarde"
  10. The flamers could perhaps be coded like this: when the sim creates "aircraft is burning", it also creates "tank leaking out within X seconds", were the"X" stands for a (rather short) time.
  11. I guess, whatever you guys write into a wish list here, will always only be an excerpt from the whole long list the OBD devs have hanging from their walls. That is my confidence.
  12. Schlissefahrt (where did you find that name - what does it mean?): 1. When the AI mess up their landing - aces or not - nothing happens to them. The OFF Manager politely ignores such lesser deeds. No one dies at landing. Well, except the human flyer - he might. 2. I always fly with the aces, but you can't be an ace's direct wingman. The OFF Manager may not be able to add you to the same A-flight, but you can fly the mission with them, with your B-flight. 3. The German Eindecker was never a death trap, Sir! That can only be enemy propaganda of the worst! In fact it is rather known as "the Fokker scourge". Of course it is necessary to learn to fly an aircraft, before you enter it's cockpit. Immelmann, Boelcke and Berthold scored very well in the E.III, mein Herr! Deathtrap - tch!
  13. I have made another test. I activated ONLY the Ultimate Damage Mod in JSGME. The ace skins were still visible for me again.
  14. Thank you for all the info, Jarhead; now I know a little bit more about the Marine Corps. That is interesting, how today's painters use the camera for all the lot of details - and it is standing to reason. I think I'd be proud, if I had been chosen to be in the painting - after all there must be hundreds of Marine officers, who would have also been qualified. Maybe you should feel flattered? For your kids it must have been a great show to find their own dad on a printed puzzle. I bet you had climbed several steps on the secret "rating of my dad" ladder.
  15. Update 14 July 2011 - 22:11 h Berlin summer time (= GMT + 2) OneoftheLost, Kansas, added The maps are in post 1 of this thread
  16. Welcome back, Schlissefahrt! If you mean your fellow AI flyers: yes, they fly from the last waypoint ca. 2 miles out, turn, and approach the field from there, where they will attempt to land. Due to treelines, whole forrests or hilly terrain, they will quite often not succeed. But when you are flying from a field with clear space after both ends of the runway, you can see them land . And when they don't run into each other after touching down, it is one of the most heartwarming moments to witness in OFF - I have several times! I don't think there were AI improvements after "HitR". The last improvements I know of, where made with the Superpatch + MiniPatch after the release of BHaH. But I could be wrong. Last point: neither you nor anyone else should excuse for asking questions here - even if they should have been asked before. No one can be there and read everything all the time. I bet you'll always get an answer or a guide to a post, that answered it before. Enjoy OFF!
  17. Here is a video from building the craft:
  18. Yes, I saw this one before, Jarhead - can you tell me, what the text bits in the blue band mean, like "Don't tread on me!" ? Are they Marine song titles? And how long did you have to stand still for Dietz's work?
  19. Just saw this over at the Aerodrome - enjoy! http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/578431-post1024.html
  20. Ah, yes, I see - so we are even running the same Windows (Win 7 32 bit). Funny, why I should have grey lines/overrides, and you don't... Ah, I just see: you have a later version of the JSGME.
  21. James Dietz is a phantastic painter of such themes - I love this work! He is not only a great painter of those war birds, he is also able to create the whole athmosphere. OBD's James Romano - better known as OvS - will see these pictures with joy. He not only knows Dietz and likes his fine work, but is also flying with Jasta 5 as the "Black Baron of Boistrancourt". Thanks for sharing, elephant! Do you know which airfield this is in the painting?
  22. Those overrides are, what keeps me wondering. Although, the bottom line says they are all active. Where is your "Mods" folder situated, elephant? Mine is like this. C: OBD Software/CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields/Mods Do you run Windows 7 ?
  23. What do you get, if you switch all mods off for one sortie?
  24. I am flying with Jasta 2, 8 August 1917, Albatros D.V (later) - but I see the ace skins!
  25. Herr Prop-Wasche, even when the Allied FM should not work (I added it to the right frame first, and it turns grey, once I also add the German FM), the German one seems to - it is black.
