  1. He looks more like the drill sergeant in "Full Metal Jacket" to me?
  2. Jeeze - what did they put in the "Old Speckled Hen" lately?!?!? Boy - your English humour CAN be black!
  3. Those phantasy-planes are craaaaaaazyyyyyyyy!!!! Wow! Lou, that is damn tough bad luck for you there. I know such extra hits in the neck, when everything is tight enough already. I had three new installs recently - due to problems with my rig - and now I'm flying the safe way: I use ACRONIS BACKUP and backup the whole C:partition every third flight. I keep three backups. The oldest one gets overwritten. That way I can write back everything in a couple of minutes. Worth to consider. But before making a complete new install, try to "Reset OFF Manager" in "Workshops". That helps most of the times.
  4. From Londinium to London in two years, Winder - what a city this is now; wow! And your clouds seem to have got even so much softer - they are looking better than the real ones. And those new cockpit interiours - real metal framed gauges on solid quality wood - boy, they make it hard to wait!
  5. Yeah, indeed - I too wouldn't want to miss this button!
  6. Yep - each kill is regarded as the player's kill, and you always fill in the claim forms. You can, by the way, switch over to the observer's seat (F8 or so) and try to do the rearward defense. But my experiences were, that it is better to pilot the craft in a good way, at the same time evasive and to give your rear gunner a good field of fire. The AI pilot will rather fly straight on. I wish you luck and fun with it!
  7. Is that your Alsace pilot you're talking about, Shiloh? Cause my pilots based in the area between Lille and St. Quentin usually had fine weather in July, if it wasn't my OFF-enthusiasm playing tricks on my mind.
  8. Okay - shall we both look out for them?
  9. That's why I mostly start my new Campaigns in May. Spring. Nice weather. Can't stand the rain and grey. We have enough grey weather here in Germany. In OFF, I prefer sunny days.
  10. Another skin I'm just working on: an Albatros D.Va from Jasta 50, Marchais, April 1918. Still needs some work tough.
  11. I did, Dej! I saw two British tanks moving forward to the middle of no man's land once. Not sure if they fired though.
  12. Well, you could buy prints from James Dietz or others. I wonder how much they take for a good print, and then for the original painting.
  13. Good info, Capitaine Vengeur. I didn't know, that the tanks had played such an important role already in WW1. Seems, that the Germans learned more from those early experiences though - their tank weapons in WW2 were very advanced. And the French Colonel Estienne had even predicted it.

  15. Just found this nice little watercolour painting over at the aerodrome:
  16. I don't care if the sun don't shine And I don't care if nothing is mine And I don't care if I'm nervous with you I'll do my flying in the winter. And the sea isn't green And I love the queen And what exactly is a dream And what exactly is a joke. (Syd Barrett "Jugband Blues"; except for "flying", which should be "loving") I know you LOVE "Over Flanders Fields", Creaghorn - otherwise you would have got me worried! You and I seem to be living in there already...
  17. Here's my contribution. No air war, but very interesting nevertheless. BRITISH PATHÉ "Time to remember - The better'ole 1916" (British film scenes from Mesopotamia and other, 1916) http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=84069
  18. UncleAl: I have the Trackir Hat Clip mounted on a visor. Which more than once has earned me the title "RADAR MAN" from the guy next door Lewie: I'm the Geek from the Freak Lagoon.
  19. Bullethead: ...now the police jury is spending my tax money on a crash TV commercial blitz saying we're really not flooded. Isn't it always again amazing, when politicians or officials prove, that the desaster you believe to witness is not there at all? That you just misinterpreted the whole situation?
  20. The Triplane with it's good speed AND turn ability is my favourite British kite, even before the S.E.5a.
  21. The Renault looks like being built by a armourer, who had made knights' medieval armours before.
