  1. We had such a poll before, but some time ago. Some may have upgraded the systems meanwhile. So here are some questions again. They will show us, where we OFF Flyers stand right now. This may be useful for everyone to see, if he is up to date or should perhaps upgrade soon. Maybe also interesting for the devs to see. The small "x" in type numbers mean, that there are various products with different numbers, but on similar level. PLEASE ALSO CHECK YOUR PERFORMANCE INDICATOR Right-click on your computer icon on the desctop, and click on "Properties" in the menue. There are numbers for the various parts of your system, and a blue highlighted number. Please write this number into your posts. (This poll was made with the help of my good friend and "my computer-specialist" Roland- Thank you, "Indy")
  2. Try a "Quick Combat" flight at dusk or dawn, elephant, they look great! Second screenshot is superb! Maybe airfields are so bright. But I tried a night mission from British_eh (see: downloads), and it was pretty blueish-dark everywhere, and very believeable. I could just see where I was going.
  3. You would go to the download section "OFF/Modding tools and add-on software", and click on the "Upload file" button top right. It is always helpful to add a little text file, telling what to do.
  4. Gee, that's a sleek two-seat-shark! With some new camo shemes - great stuff!
  5. This website is giving a lot of detailed research about the weather situation in the Great War. http://climate-ocean...eien/05_11.html .
  6. Well, before you take my word too correct - I saw it on the Pups in OFF. I don't know, if the real life 46 Sqdn planes carried it. Maybe Lee's plane? But in OFF, the Squadron's generic skin carries it.
  7. "Ad Astra" was on the Pups of No. 46 Sqdn, RFC - Arthur Gould Lee's squadron.
  8. Another area of the whole of OFF, that has been really simulated, instead of being randomly generated. Beat that, other sims!
  9. It can get complicated to learn English. When you take the name "Worcestershire" - they spell it "Woostersher".
  10. Yo, No. 24 Sqdn, RFC!!! Been there, done that! Surely an airfield for people, who like lots of company and to visit a different mess every evening.
  11. Those fields may be more wind-shielded, but also colder grounds in winter? They could flood them and use seapl... ah, forget the idea!
  12. I have been in St.Mard, elephant - funny terrain! In the region north of Verdun there is a very beautiful airfield situated on a high plateau; not sure if it was Stenay; must go back and seek for it. There is a lake and forrest at Morchingen , so it could be our field, Shiloh.
  13. That was without TrackIR, I suppose? Cause, with that little device, you can duck and bend and roll - you could even tie your shoes, if you wouldn't be wearing those thick gloves.
  14. Four and a half hours almost. That should be pretty detailed then? I'll watch it bit by bit during the coming weeks - thanks for posting, Shiloh.
  15. You want them to be hard for you? Set them on "hard", and it will get tough!
  16. Well, this example explains very well, that music is all about emotions. Yours were tortured with the piece, so how could you like it anymore?
  17. Now, this is an explanation I understand! Why didn't you say this earlier? Congratulations, Creaghorn - this was definitely a very rare thing to achieve!
  18. Good ideas, guys - would make the two-seaters much better frequented by the simmers, and could even lure me into the back seat. Something like being able to guide artillery, or taking recon photos. Not easy to program surely, but it would be such an extension.
  19. Just found this letter during a search - maybe well known; but I didn't . Enjoy! http://www.learnwithmuseums.org.uk/JourneyView.asp?JID=78&PID=300
  20. Do you know an airfield which you like very much? Or do you have a special nice screenshot from an airfield? It can be a picture with your grounded aircraft, or a start or landing approach - however you want to present it. Here is mine: Phalempin airfield, home of Ernst Udet's Jasta 37 in September 1917
  21. Major William Barker VC, DSO - Nearly an Ace in a Day Air Combat Art by Ivan Berryman Flying Sopwith Snipe E8102 on 27th October 1918, Major William Barker encountered a flight of fifteen Fokker D.VIIs and decided to take them on single handed. Having downed one enemy aircraft, Barker was wounded in his left thigh and momentarily fainted. Coming to, he found another D.VII ahead of him and immediately resumed the battle. Another bullet now tore into his right leg and another shattered his left elbow. Despite his terrible injuries, Barker shot down three D.VIIs and drove the others off before crash landing his bullet-riddled Snipe in friendly territory. He survived the crash and was awarded the VC for his gallantry on this epic flight. If this painting is correct, Barker's opponent here was from Jasta 15 - a good German Staffel. Prints of this painting are available from CRANSTON'S FINE ARTS.
  22. ..or perhaps fully absorbed them? Reminds me of the falcons' flight - they can do the craziest things in the air. The Flanker appears, as if she was never constructed, but born up there.
  23. Man, Rickitycrate! Good to see you alive and well - it's been some time ago! Cheers!
