Well - in questions about war and combat, you should never ask your wife, Lou. Some hours ago I talked to my almost-wife (the longest relationship I ever had - still my best friend) - and I told her that I may do a trip by bike and train next year, to visit some WW1 aerodrome sites. She said, she would rather drive somewhere, where the landscape is nice. I then told her, that the landscape IS quite nice around there. She replied, that she doesn't understand it then, why I should look for reminders of a long ago war. We ended up in a discussion about the differences between men and women.

Well - it isn't Glasgow. Definitely somewhere in Great Britain - but not Glasgow.

That's a great piece of equipment! The name and the goggles suggest, it's a German one, elephant? It seems to have larynx microphones. The fact it's web instead of full leather suggests it was used by the Africa Corps, or on Sicily or in Greece? Do you know more about it?

cptroyce, did you run CFS3 as far as going out for a flight? You may break it off short after takeoff, but you need to get on the field at least once. If nothing helps, you should write your problem to: support@overflandersfields.com

UncleAl: With Trackir you're using muscles you never used before... What? Do you never look left and right at crossings? All you do with TrackIR is looking left or right, up or down, as far as the edges of your screen. Or did they send me the wrong tool??

Okay, then it is right as I have it. They don't do so all the time - that is only happening, when the craft are shot up quite a bit. Then they seem to try to gain some altitude, but too steeply, and so they fall back again. It always looks, as if the tailplane doesn't provide enough lift anymore.

I think that is not so anymore, UncleAl. With Phase 2, I had problems, until I set the "Regional Language" to "English (USA)". But I think that is not a problem anymore - at least it isn't for me. Perhaps an Australian pilot can tell us better? Dokken, I have attacked a Hannover only once so far, with a SPAD XII. They are spiny as a hedgehog, I remember. With that powerful craft, I could fly under the last flyer and then pull up, to fire into the engine and cockpit areas. Push the nose down again, before you get into the range of the rear gunner. I never attack two-seaters head-on, cause I'd have to fly through the fire of the other Hannovers that way. But others here seem to do it sometimes.

dokken1212 and all other newbies: You may change one setting in "Workshops" to have better outcomes from such events as breaking up your kite. It's called "Outcomes". There are three choices. - Easy - pilot never dies - Normal - die roll on death - Hard: dead is dead I recommend to use "Normal" - the dice will roll about the outcome of your accidents and crashes, and you may survive - just like the real pilots might have been wounded, but not always dead. For learning the flying and shooting, even the first - "Easy" - would be a choice. It saves you time and pilots. Once you get to grips with it better, you could "retire" that "Easy" pilot and start a more serious one.

Lou, I should have added a smiley - it didn't come across: this was a joke. Hasse Wind, I wonder to hear they should have denied it? There is a scene, where you can see a little IBM logo on the command desc of the space shuttle.

Welcome to the OFF-Forum, smilingmonkey! You said you had already found and checked all the FAQs and that about the set-up and the right version of CFS3. I am playing OFF on a Vista 32 bit system, and for me it's running wonderfully. Region-locked? Why should OFF be region-locked for Australia? OFF has several players down under, and I have never heard any complaints. So don't worry about that. You seem to have recognised the difference between an eye-candy show and an immersive sim. I'm sure you made the right choice. It will be tougher than CFS3 though - the learning curve is steep, and you will loose many pilots, until you get the knack. If that doesn't frighten you off, you are the right stuff. So, welcome again. And if you post me your town name, I can place you in our OFF Forum Pilots Maps. All the best!

Well, I have one little advice, but it may spoil the immersion quite a bit for you. You could press "pause" every some minutes and relax your neck, stretch it and such.

Drunken people often have great ideas - I wonder if anyone can.

I like especially the nose design! Must have been hard to line up the stripes with the cowling.
