  1. I bet, as soon as he has P4 installed, UncleAl will attach LePrieur rockets to the Ford Model T and drive off for hunting cows.
  2. The problem is that "law" is mostly put higher than common sense: made by bureaucrats and politicians, it is often insane in itself - IMHO.
  3. Creaghorn: ...the groundcrew didn't bring a green carpet with them to place it on the ground. That was brilliant humour, Creaghorn - almost British! I spilled my coffee, laughing! I surrender to this argument - I think, you and Morris are right there; cancel my remark, Winder. One question about airfields: could perhaps airfields, which are known from aerial photographs, be built like that more or less? That would be phantastic!
  4. The word "sane" or "insane" always make me suspicious; who makes the measures for that? I would say, mankind is quite crazy, but we have the choice to be "positively crazy". That means for me, rather to write a song like "I'm the Walrus" than laying out landmines.
  5. Two horrible wars may have resulted in a more co-existing Europe, and the absence of wars. We gained the incredible freedom to be able to smile about such a joke. Our grandfather couldn't have. I celebrate that quite often, not with drinks, but just in mind - that I can enjoy flying a sim about it, instead of suffering through a real war. Let's keep that in mind, and let's enjoy it!
  6. Hey, the cows are cute! (UncleAl, didn't you order more folk on the ground? Here they are!) The landscape in that second shot looks very natural and realistic - absolutely great! (The airfield appears a bit pale in the third shot?) But now, see those tree lines along roads and fields! This is very common in the area, especially along roads - well done! And then that water in shot 6 - boys, you are doing a fine job!!!
  7. Hey - nobody explained it to me this way before - didn't know it was so easy to understand!
  8. To get you really confused by choice, here is a website where you can download free fonts. The choice is quite big; click on the magenta style descriptions at the left to get a new offer of choices. You can also search alphabetical. Click on the name of the font to get to the download. http://www.fontspace...gory/futuristic
  9. Just wondered: RAF_Louvert or Hasse Wind may have presented this site before? If so, I'm sorry - didn't want to adorn myself with borrowed plumes. Anyway, the site is well worth to be presented again.
  10. Widowmaker, that is a fine design. Mirror that "A" and it's okay!
  11. Tch -it has no guns?
  12. The "Wild Bunch", eyh? The left and right daughters still look very Scandinavian to me - they might as well be Swedish. Thank you for sharing.
  13. BREMEN REDOUBT - ZONNEBEKE "In the year 1984 at the Brickworks, Zonnebeke, Flandersthere was discovered an original WW1 underground bunker. Thought to be Australian, the bunker could accommodate up to 120 menin three tiers of bunks plus an officers quarters. These photos were taken shortly after the bunker was opened to the public. Sadly it has now completely collapsed and is no more." http://www.flanderland.de/locations-orte/bremen-redoubt-%28zonnebeke%29/
  14. Just went through the pictures on the 6 pages about Beselaere. http://www.flanderland.de/locations-orte/beselare/10/ When I see the grade of destruction there - especially in the aerial photos of the village - it can strangle me. I looked at the pictures of today, and wondered, how close it still must be for the people who live in such WW1 fighting areas. When you look at the old and new pictures, it doesn't seem so long ago.
  15. Von Baur, are "gun jams" activated in your "workshop"? Cause 3 seconds is already quite long? To be on the safe side, I wouldn't go over 2 secs.
  16. Must sometimes be tough to teach a Neandertal man about computers - thank you for your patience and detail!

  17. Parky, thank you for your help - your advice about computers is always profound and very knowledgeable.

  18. Wow, you did what I always want to do - paint a WW1 aircraft painting. And you did very good!
  19. themightysrc: f*** knows how you laminate an A3 map! Well, Lou's whole map is pretty large, but if you have access to a program like Photoshop or Corel Draw or other, you may choose excerpts from the map. I picked the area around Bisseghem, and made a DIN A4 map (letter paper size). That was large enough for me. 77Scout: After any scrap you will be all turned around and lost, which I find to actually be great fun. You have to figure out where you are by comparing landmarks to the map. Being lost is a thrill and danger that real pilots experienced all the time, but that the typical OFF pilot (using in-game map and other aids) is totally missing out on. Now for real fun, do this all in an OFF-generated snowstorm (grin). Man, you are the REAL hard stuff - I may still need another year to get that far.
  20. In the "Sticky Threads" up at the top of this page - "OFF General Help topics"; first post, first link. (It's UncleAl's trace of crumbs, full of good advice and info).
  21. No, they were really so small. See these pictures.
  22. I raved for the Halberstadt, because it must have been a great fighter after the Eindecker. You need to adjust your mind to the time being in the war. It is pointless to say: the Albatros D.II is much better than the Halberstadt; and the D.III is much better than the D.II. Because first there was only the Halberstadt - and it was good for a while. It is easy to fly, has a decent climb rate, turns good enough to even fight Nieuports. Yes, I say it again: I like it. (Until the Albatros D.I appears, of course!)
  23. Welcome to OFF, dihedral! I cannot answer that - I never tweaked anything yet. I would like to add your name to our OFF Forum Pilots maps above; would you send me a PM with your town and country/state, please?
  24. Hey, Stratos; yes, you can make your own skins. Best is to get a program like DXTBmp (free download), to convert skins from the sim into bmp format. Then you work on it in a graphic program, and when it's ready, you re-convert it into a .dds file. The skins are here: [your game folder] > campaigns >CampaignData > skins You may also pick one of the many skins, that users have already made available in the download section here: http://combatace.com...aircraft-skins/ With an individual skin, you cannot have fuel management. If you use fuel management, your whole flight will show your skin. Perhaps that will be solved in P4 - if it can be changed.
  25. From your pics, it looks rather like the second video, British_Eh? Wonderful pictures! I hope he has the leather pads for the machine guns. Although - when you see the face of the dead von Richthofen - in a hard nose-in they can't protect you much. Did you ask Carlson, if he ever tried the "flat turn" that Voss had performed in his last fight?
