  1. perth, to bring some sense into this thread: please send me a PM with your hometown and country/state - I'll add you to the OFF Forum Pilots Maps then. thanks!
  2. Crumpets! shouldn't he say "Crumpets?" (What does he mean, by the way? Were is he staring? I don't get it).
  3. Okay, thought I'd try something new, and enlisted with MFFA 1, Mariakerke, 1. Mai 1916. How comes, that I always seem to attract other fighters, and that I never get away from them? We had a fight with Airco DH-2, until I over-estimated my Roland, and crashed in a hard banked turn.
  4. Latest ATI driver was said to be faulty, I think.
  5. Thank you guys - wish me luck to get through the war alive with Ernst.
  6. Not sure about the others, but the German DFW has a bombsite. Hasse Wind may even still have the modified site with a better crosshair.
  7. Yes, will do! But half a year, before I could fly the fighters? I must shorten the proceedure a bit, but it's a good idea to do that. Manfred also had to fly a Roland C.II, before he came to Jasta 2. Should be quite challenging. It can almost be flown as the Bristol fighter; and when you have managed the landing, you can be really proud of yourself.
  8. Must have been OvS and Pol doing a test flight - very promising!
  9. I'm with Hellshade there. I'll order P4 as soon as it's out, but I don't feel that nibbling inside, that I must get info about it's release date, or at least some info on how it will be. I still have so much to try in P3, that I never did. Like flying the Roland C.II "Walfisch" - takeoff, combat, and landing (with a forward view next to none - it's on the list!).
  10. Polovski: ...but if you fly Brit there's nearly always someone above you anyway. Not only for the Brits, Pol - I hardly ever find myself the highest flyer on German side; there will always be some S.E.5a or SPAD XIII safely above. I don't really understand that complaints about the waypoints. To reach a certain altitude WITH your wingmen near you, you need them. You can cut that bit, by either using "warp", or by leading your flight and press "rejoin"; or a third way: you activate TAC, press "W" repeatedly, until the blue line shows the flight path to the first real waypoint (wait until all craft are airborne; it won't work earlier); then open the inflight map, and press "X" for "warp", but place your fingers over "Control" and "X", and stop warp shortly after. You may now have reached the altitude, without doing all the way by warp. If all this is still not right, cause you want it more realistic - well, then you can only perform all the climbing spirals, as the real pilots also had to do.
  11. So you took it over from Lothar then, Morris? One note so far : the "type in service" in the lower right corner should be "Albatros D V". Thanks for your time doing this!
  12. Widowmaker: I knew you would take a bite there Olham! Anglers - tch!!!
  13. Hellshade: I also just started a Jasta 1 pilot flying a Albatros DII. Not as fast or as agile as an Entente N-16 it seems, but still makes for truly exciting fighting! The Albatros D.II is given a max. speed of 175 km/h over at the aerodrome; the Nieuport Ni 17 is given 170 km/h. Dej, I also like to fly at the north sea, as it reminds me of Ostfriesland, my home. And when I fly British side, RNAS is a good choice; I like the Pup, and especially the Triplane.
  14. Creaghorn: i consider myself a normal pilot among other normal pilots. so i like to fly for normal jastas. Good point - I often do that too; and pick Jasta 21 then, or Jasta 17 with Julius Buckler.
  15. Crapp - I AM A BLOCKHEAD. In the first text designs, I had it in - then I forgot to paste it in. Look there now.
  16. Hasse Wind, I have edited the poll, so one can click more than one option. You may find it possible to delete your vote, and vote again.
  17. We had a similar poll, but we may have newbies enough to ask these questions again. And perhaps, some of you have even changed their likes. The American flyers please choose among the French and English craft. In addition to the above poll, I have some more questions, which you may copy and paste into your posts, and answer them there. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS 1. Which Nationality do you fly mostly ? 2. What is your favourite Squadron / Jasta / Escadrille to fly with ? 3. Why did you choose that Squadron / Jasta / Escadrille as your favourite ? 4. What is your favourite airfield landscape-wise (the most beautiful surrounding/area ? Perhaps you can add a screenshot of that field).
  18. Perth, I know and am flying P3 plus "Hat in the Ring" add-on, and if I had the same knowledge, but not the above products, I would get them, even if I knew P4 might appear next Christmas (which we don't know at all). Why should I wait soooo long? The price is so low now, it's a bargain!
  19. Widow, will you ever get off the "propaganda rail" ? He didn't shoot down "Huns", but other airmen, who also fought for their fatherland. I haven't said anything much in this respect about him, as I haven't said much about von Richthofen in this respect either. All I say, for both of them, is: may they rest in peace.
  20. Just found this pictorial demonstration of how to paint the Lozenge sheme of a Roland. http://www.ivanberryman.com/roland_dvia_dhm1727.htm
  21. What about Alice Shreddard - very effective girl, when the claim pile grows.
  22. There are actually two such aircraft cemetaries, I think both in New Mexico. The other one is even larger. But I forgot the name. Check this touching picture - the T-33 in the foreground seems still intact. http://en.wikipedia....ST-89-10583.jpg Or see these "Phantoms" and "Hueys": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tucson05_AMARCHelicoptersFightersMountain.jpg
  23. Inspired by Ernst Udet's silver Albatros D.V "LO" (Jasta 37), I painted mine silver too. My personal marking is the Reichsflagge band around the fuselage.
  24. No, Paul is an oldtimer already; he won't live much longer. The Spanish team wanted to buy him, by the way, for 30.000 Euro - some German football fans wanted to frie after his oracle. Here you can see him once again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAQf2ovAEz0
  25. PS: It was wonderful to see the after-match fireworks, Morris, and I was wondering: your side it's winter now; I saw people with scarfs; Loew has caught a flue - what are the temperatures down south these days? Here in Berlin, we have "Hundstage" - dog days of summer: 37° Celsius! I can't even open the windows during the night - the incoming air still feels like luke warm honey.
