  1. I'm helpless, HumanDrone - I can't find the recipe. I'll have to ask my mum. Maybe Jarhead can help you out?
  2. Ah, good idea to start early. In my family it was only baked for Xmas. But there's no good reason, why one shouldn't start eating it before. Maybe I'll bake me some next week!
  3. For all Canadian flyers I have made these two skin variants - the earlier Hispano-Suiza and the later Viper version of the S.E.5a. (I added the Maple Leaf - the skins were made by the OBD Skinners). Please download them soon - I will have to make room again for my other attachments. The skins need to get extracted; then throw them into this folder: OBD Software > CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields > campaigns > CampaignData > skins All the best and much fun!
  4. You mean, there might be people who DON'T know him? He came to German newspapers in the early seventies, and his name here was Willy Wacker. I guess I have 20 Fawcett Gold Medal books with original Andy Capp in English, plus 5 German ones. I love them all. Thank you, Mr. Smythe - I hope he earned you a good living!
  5. Recently I bought some spices from my local Asian market; one of them is a mix of spices which the Indian people add to their rice. It is called GARAM MASALA. That's a mix of cardamom, black pepper, cinnamon and cloves. The nice scent it had on the hot rice made me wonder - this should go nicely with coffee too, I thought. Tried it, and yes, it works fine. Just add half a teaspoon on a coffee pot, and enjoy a coffee with exotic scents.
  6. By the way: I have added you to our "OFF FORUM PILOTS MAPS", Fokker - see here: http://combatace.com/topic/44370-off-forum-pilots-maps/#entry315225
  7. By the way - many traces of the war can still be found in Berlin. Entrance ways and perfect window positions for machine gun nests are still framed by hundreds of bullet holes. The hole in the iron railway bridge pylon was most likely caused by a German 8.8 Flak gun, which was used against tanks with great success in the Battle of Berlin.
  8. A spooky find, Hauksbee - I have been at many places in northern France, and I imagined scenes like these at some places. It's not too long ago, and yet many a place looks like it never happened. Good point, Lazarus!
  9. Hihi - I also like one from Andy Capp: His wife Flora (or: Flo) tells him that the butcher got cheeky and made approaches to her ; and she asks Andy what to do now. Andy says: Well, I think you should go out and mow the lawn. She asks: "Well, do you think that is gonna stop him?" Andy replies: "No! But it'll wipe that smirk off yer clock."
  10. HAFU video, New Zealand, have made another great air show video - enjoy!
  11. In German: Jemanden rupfen (to deplume someone) means someting like "to shellac someone". In English: to frazzle s.o. out. To deplume s.o. may sound funny in English though - no idea...
  12. I am going through a half year of school training, to learn Web Design, HTML, Javascript, Flash and PHP, And I can only say: I wasn't the most energetic guy in my twenties, but it has rather worn off more. So I'm quite exhausted after my return home, and when my personal stuff is also done, there is nothing much left in me to invest into flying air combats against 19 year-olds! (Well, I still do occasionally, and I still deplume them).
  13. Well, it definitely IS too quiet around here since lately - maybe the lull before the storm - aerh, WOFF. For you that's a good reason to go out more, Herr Prop-Wasche, indeed. We need the sunlight, like the plants; it'll do ya good. Doctor's order.
  14. Well, since you guys did already put a finger on it: Winder's second name COULD well be Slartibartfast. Although he is NOT doing any Fjords for WOFF (thank god!!!), he has found many "other fiddly bits" that keep him pleased to get them right - and us waiting. My tip for you, Slarti - visit and check both Forums (Fora, Forwhatever...) - it won't take too long these days.
  15. Update 18 October 2012 - 17:33 h Berlin time (= GMT + 1) FokkerDviiOAW, New York added. The maps are in post 1 of this thread
  16. Welcome to the OFF Mess, FokkerDvii - I'll have a virtual Warsteiner Pils! Many of us hope, that such transfers will be easily possible - we'll see. But if you want to do such a transfer now, you can already do that. Go to OBD Software > CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields > campaigns > CampaignData > Pilots There you open the "Pilot Dossier" folder and change the third line from "FA(A) 256" to "Jasta 11" (for example). Save it, and then start a mission. You don't need to fly it - it's just for making OFF realise the change. In your next real mission, you should see the change in your "Pilot Log". Done! Best is to save the whole "Pilots" folder before you start changing anything - just to be safe. NOTE - the pilot numbers in the Pilot Logs are one lower or higher than in the "Pilots" folder - make sure you pick the one from the right unit.
  17. PS - In case anyone doesn't know: after clicking on a pic and getting it enlarged, you can click on it again to receive the full size view of them.
  18. I wonder if you had to shoot them from hands (no tripod)? In that lighting (which is like in a British gentlemen's club) that would be very difficult. Anyway - they are a great series of WW1 plane photographies.
  19. What a fine presentation of these aircraft! Great pics, Dave! I may have seen some of them, but never all of them. Now look at that Halberstadt Cl. IV - a rare craft. Look at that beautiful SPAD! Thanks for posting, Dave!
  20. Didn't it, Hauksbee? We were not so spoiled yet by Industrial Light and Magic and Co. What wasn't exactly there to see, was added by our phantasy. I wouldn't change it for today's youth's wealth of i-phones and all that. Never!
  21. Yes - Wikipedia is so much better than many of us think. Here is an excerpt, and the link: To recreate airfield scenes in the film, with the limited number of period aircraft available for the film, large scale models were used. The first requirement was for "set decoration" replicas. Production of full-size wood and fibreglass Hurricanes, Spitfires and Bf 109s commenced in a sort of production line set up at Pinewood Studios. A number of the replicas were fitted with motorcycle engines to enable them to taxi. Although most of these replicas were destroyed during filming, a small number were made available to museums in the UK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Britain_%28film%29
  22. They had built 1:1 dummies of wood, tin and painted canvas, as far as I know.
  23. The release of WOFF can't change the world - but it can make it a so much better place, huh? Not bad, not bad! I like that!
  24. Making a profile like these must take many, many hours I guess? I have started one, but at least the first basic template, when you have to build everything new, easily takes several days - if not weeks - to get it all right.
