  1. Here's what they be. I don't recall changing anything after the last install.
  2. I think I know what the Brits would say. Installation gone hinky? Possibly. I did a fresh re-install about two weeks ago with both CFS3 and OFF. But I was still getting problems with the 'Processing...' error message and the blue dial when I tried to get to an on-line game. The error message seems to have gone away, thanks to the good offices of Sitting Duck and Axegrinder. I'll try again. Howe're; perhaps the question should be...While I know that QC reflects the progression of the seasons, am I flying in the same weather I would encounter if I were out in a campaign over Bertincourt? If so, then I can understand an extended bad patch. I've just never seen so much of it, and changing the season doesn't help.
  3. So does this mean that 'protracted-bad-weather-in-QC-despite-changes-in-season" is normal...or not?
  4. Yesterday [sunday] I flew about six times in QC...as always...so far. And twice so far today. In every case, the weather has been solid cloud and rain. Absolutely vile. Visibility zero...until I point the nose at the ground, and then, at about 5000', it finally clears enough to see which way is up. The thing that's odd is that the weather won't change even if I change the season. I would think that a leap of three months, would give me new cloud conditions. When the same thing happened this morning, I began to wonder. Is this normal for QC?
  5. You certainly have the touch with G-Max, Stump. Great looking model!
  6. He certainly was thorough.
  7. Yeah, I spent my career as a commercial artist. Before computers, all typesetting had to be precisely pasted in place. Rubber Cement and Rubber Cement Thinner were staples on the desk of every artist. The thinner was just a can of Benzene. About the time I was ready to retire, they started posting little warnings on the can saying it's not a good idea to breath this stuff. Thanks
  8. Well, something worked! I checked the link, read the postings, and as I was trying to sort out which piece of advice to attempt, I saw the offer at the bottom to do a Vista Check. I downloaded the app. and ran it. It found 624 things that should be fixed. I cliked on the GO button. It did its number but then informed me that with the free download you can only fix 15. I figured this was 15 each time you ran the scan. Nope. It's was 15 only. Ever. Unless you buy the program. I left, went to Control Panel and uninstalled it. However; I opened OFF and, on a whim, cliked Multi-Player. It took me out to the field [with the two medals on the left]. I did not see the Error Message, but I did see the blue dial. Cool. So, I backed out of there and did a bit of QC. When I got back to the desktop, I tried the CFS3MP icon. Again, it took me out to the field. Blue dial, no Error Message. So it looks like Multi-Player is now an option for me. And just doing the mini-scam may well have shaken things loose. Thanks for the help.
  9. Very interesting. Thanks. But...how did it come to be called 'dope'? I'm sure it's not a a drug reference, given the times. [unless you got dopey from the fumes].
  10. No problem. The malware people out there are very sneaky. 'Can't be too careful.
  11. A few quick queries: [1] Anybody know why the paint used on airplanes was called 'dope', as in 'doping the wings'? I can remember being able to buy little bottles of model airplane dope [10 cents a bottle] when I was a kid making stick and paper airplanes. I'm posting a composite of Albatros D.II pics. I'm morphing my D.V model into the D.II. The end result will be to put together another poster/illustration about the day Boelcke and Bohme brushed each other. Using the skin for Erwin Bohme for reference, I lifted the fuselage and rudder textures to save time. [2] If the skinner who did Bohme's Albatros reads this, I would like to get permission for a one-time use of those textures. Also, if anyone sees any mistakes or oversights, let me know. Since this one really happened, I've got to get it right.
  12. OK. My Tech guys [who built my machine] installed the Anti-Malware Scanner when they did the set-up, but I'll check to make sure I'm running the latest version.
  13. A 'hat switch'? TrackIR?
  14. That's a very modern looking color photo. Is this a real WWI Camel, or a broken replica? Any idea of when it was taken?
  15. Me neither. Today. Yesterday I thought they were normal!
  16. I'm running the 'Xpolsive' version. I got it, I believe, on Amazon.com
  17. Yes and no. Teamspeak is up and running, thanks to Duck, with Saburo and Axegrinder kibbitzing from the sidelines. Multi-Player still crashes CFS3. Check the new thread: "Anybody recognize these?"
  18. ...and do you remain jinxed to this day? Or did you beat the curse? Better yet, is your problem that CFS3 crashes?
  19. Tonight, [Thursday] Sitting Duck, saburo and Axegrinder got me set up with TeamSpeak. Then we made the big jump to getting on-line with Multi-Player. This put me back to square one, as every attempt crashed CFS3. I described the Alpha-numeric error message to Duck. It can be clicked through, but always takes four or five tries. He found it odd. I described the Blue Dial [which I always see when going to the field in QC] He found that doubly odd. I e-mailed screen caps to him. He forwarded to Axe. Seems I'm the only one to see them so far. Anything look familiar?
  20. I get presented with an endless list of server addresses. Am I suppossed to find you in the list? Or am I missing the place to enter the address? This is terra incognita for me.
  21. OK. The deed is done. Did a two-part install: Teamspeak 2 RC2 and Teamspeak 2 Server.
  22. From the info I'm seeing here, it seems like the ROF folks have constructed an on-line Rube Goldberg machine. Probably works flawlessly on paper, and in beta with friends, but will stumble in practice. Sounds very complicated from on the administrative, home-office end of things. I suspect that if they can keep it flying for a year as they add planes [as they must] there will be a boxed, single-player, off-line version.
  23. Oooops! Sorry Duck. Got called away from computer stuff and didn't log back on 'til this morn. Thus, I missed the last two postings, and your PM. But I appreciate the efforts. Upon checking, I find I have downloaded TeamSpeak, but not installed. I'll get that done straight off, and then take a fresh running start at getting on-line.
  24. OK..."_S.dds" it shall be. Thanks all.
