  1. I've got all of the above done. I found Multi-Player in CFS3 and set 56K to T1. I put a CFS3MP icon on the desktop. Somewhere along the line, [probably in CFS3] I did see a dialog box asking me if I wanted ti leave files blocked or not? I unblocked. Despite all this, Multi-Player crashes CFS3 regardless of whether I launch it from OFF or the Desktop CFS3 icon. 'Can't seem to get to the medals screen. Is it possible to talk to you with TeamSpeak if I'm not in a multi-player game?
  2. Can I take this as a 'yes' for Bump Maps in G-Max? I hope.
  3. So what did the Sopwith designers do to breed out the more vicious flying characteristics of the Camel?
  4. When I look at skins, much of the underlying aircraft framework seems to be illustrated as part of the skin. Is it possible to use Bump Maps? G-Max supports Bump Maps, but I don't see any provision for them.
  5. Could you point me at this? I checked Workshops, but I'm not seeing anything there.
  6. I'm trying to collaboarate with my friend Valen in California [where I used to live] in setting up my computer as a server so we can link up and fly together. Partly to stay in touch [with Teamspeak] and partly to get some on-line experience before I jump into the water with the rest of you sharks. Problem is, when I choose Multi-Player, it starts to load, I get to see the blue dial, then, as the picture of the 'pilots leaving barracks' appears, I get the notice that CFS3 has stopped working. I've uninstalled both CFS3 and OFF and done a complete fresh installation and downloaded the 1.30 patch and the 1.30c Valen tells me that I should arrive at a screen with several medals, and proceed on from there. Anyone know where I'm going wrong?
  7. I think she's got our number.
  8. Always heartening to see another WWI bird getting set up for flight. I was amazed at how small the main spar is in the top wing. And the radiator? Directly in the pilots line of sight? Surely that is a temporary arrangement?
  9. Very nice. With your permission, this will be my new wallpaper for a bit! You're right, 'Blur' works wonders for seating objects into a scene. Takes the crisp edge off things. The other "Wonder Tool' is 'Haze'. In my 3D modeling programs, this can be added with a few numbers entered in the right space. Looking at the ground, there's a bit of atmospheric haze going on. For Photoshop, try a new layer, at the very top. Flood it with White, then adjust the Opacity down to 1%. Tweak the percentage up or down as needed.
  10. Scarey. The worst being helicopters. I've had some training CD's for an RC helo. Can't get the hang of it. When it starts going bad, EVERYTHING you do is wrong.
  11. 'Talk about it hiding right under my nose...! Thanks.
  12. Could someone point me toward a source where I can find what paint schemes were on the planes flown by von Richtofen, Bohme and Boelcke on that fateful day? Thanks.
  13. Which, in itself, should tell you something. I'm for it.
  14. Nice one! Are you officially 'on leave' right now? Is it working?
  15. I got mine by going to amazon.com. When it arrived, the label said "Xpolsive' instead of Microsoft. I figured this can't be right, so I tracked it down on the Microsoft site. They were selling Xplosive too.
  16. Of course it's true! Reports of seeing of the White Albatros in France exceed the number of Elvis sightings in America.
  17. Well.....olde habyts die hard.
  18. Does that mean that you will not have internet access?
  19. How does one go about getting a D.VIII? And may we call on Womenfly2 for a 'feet-on-the-pedals' evaluation vis-a-vis the real thing?
  20. Out here in Oz, we agree not to see the man behind the curtain.
  21. Another on leave? This bloody game is starting to take a fearful toll. How many of us left in seventeen months?
  22. I should say! That's one very fine looking comic, Dej. I've seen stuff out on the racks that didn't even come close. Love the different type styles, the sound-effexts type especially, the Photoshop work on the muzzle-flashes...two or three more stories like this, and you'll be submitting pages to Dark Horse Comics.
  23. Thanks, Olham. And...well spotted. Fact of the matter is, I started the right hand poster first. As it started to come together, I opened a second document with the same model and tried a different scene with other photo backgrounds. As both posters marched along to completion, I rendered successive versions of the picture. When it came time to assemble the finals, I hastily grabbed an early rendering without pilots, and without the corrected numbers. I'll re-post that one tomorrow. But if you think that's bad, yesterday, just as I was getting ready to post the pic. of the C27 fight, I had a twinge of unease. I had been going on the assumption that the W-12 and the W-29 were basically the same plane. [which, in many respects, they were.] Sorta like the Albatros D.I and the D.III. Unless you really know your Albatros's, it's hard to tell them apart. A quick google disabused me of that notion. The W-12 was a biplane; the W-29 was a monoplane. Just a little difference. I would have been years living that down.
  24. Got an itch to play with Hansa-Brandenburgs...here's the result. On Dec.11, 1917 a flight of three W-12s led by ObLtn. Friedrich Christiansen, was on the homeward leg of their patrol. Nearing the coast, the No.3 plane, the 'Tail-End Charley', spoted an Asta-Torres airship and dove to the attack. Christiansen and his other wingman turned back to join in, but by the time they arrived it was burning. Neither plane could add much to the process as the C27 was already going down. Being Flt. Leader, Christiansen claimed the kill, and it was confirmed. After the war, in subsequent statements, he acknowledged the role of his No.3, and some accounts credit each with half a kill. EDIT: Here's the re-make. All planes now have pilots and gunners. The second picture is different because, for some reason, the file corrupted and everything, planes, lights, etc., were stacked at the same point in space: 0,0,0. So it had to be re-built.
