    So it is NOT free.
  3. Great screenshot. I almost cant see the enemy myself! Tense. I love it.
  4. I believe there was a mixture control on the left front. Is that what you are seeing?
  5. In the video it is not a rotary engine.
  6. I tend to "test" the AI and flight models of games until it is no fun. Not this time. In OFF2 I am going to start a career with no aids and just ENJOY.
  7. OFF2 DEVELOPMENT Screenshots

    Dropped his cigarette.
  8. OFF2 DEVELOPMENT Screenshots

Please just release this already. It has been toooo long.
  9. I believe it was changed to reflect the fact that the product is so different from P2/P3 that is deserves the next "step". Hence: OFF2.
  10. Jason at ROF just claimed that phase 4 stole their artwork for it's medals. Is this true or are they just similiar looking by chance? From Jason: "And it appears they have stolen our artwork for their medals in their Phase 4. Can't wait to sue them and their distributor over that move."
  11. ROF Claims Theft...Is It True?

Thats a good point Olham. I know that I have made a comment or two on the net when I had a few in me that I later wish I hadnt. Back in the day of course.
  12. ROF Claims Theft...Is It True?

Looks like the entire thread was removed over at ROF.
  13. ROF Claims Theft...Is It True?

Whats next? The color of the sky?
  14. OT Career Change

Thats good advice Widowmaker. Take an intro flight and see how it fits. It is very different from flying on a computer. But there is the other side of that coin too! You might get bit by the bug and crave more more more. Thats what happened to me back in 1987 when I was 17 and I did whatever it took to make more money to buy more flight lessons. I would move furniture for $10 per hour (alot for a high school student back then!) and break my balls for more lessons. I was crazy for it. I remember that I soloed at 10 hours and after that happened I was allowed to take the aircraft alone to practice. Well, being the 17 year old that I was I had my friend hide in the weeds at the end of the runway one morning at 7:00 am before anyone was even working at the airport. I did my runup and he ran out and jumped in the plane and off we went. Who was more nuts....me or him?!?!? We flew around buzzing lakes and pretending to strafe trains ala WW2 guncamera footage. Landed 45 minutes later and out he jumped into the weeds again. We were just in love with flying.
  15. OT Career Change

Well reading my post above and no longer being able to edit it I just want to say that I don't want to pee on your parade. It is a great career to be sure it just takes alot of sacrifice to make it great. Follow your dream. That way you won't look back and wish you had.
  16. OT My Favourite War Film

    Das Boot. ALARM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. OT Career Change

Hmmmm.... Well I do not live in the U.K. but I am an major airline pilot and I can give you some of my thoughts and maybe clear up some facts and fiction about the lifestyle. You do not have to be ex military at all to climb the ladder nowadays. In fact most people come up the civilian route. I prefer to fly with civilian guys as they seem to more well rounded pilots. I am not sure how it works in the U.K. but the road to the airlines in the U.S. is a hard one full of sacrifice. Most people will get their experience from flight instructing and commuter airlines. The pay is LOW and the hours away from home can be awful. Now that being said, once you do make it, if you get on with a good carrier, the life gets much better. I am 42 now and I have been with a major carrier for 7 years now. I am home about 17 to 19 days a month and earn very good money but I am also expecting a big raise when we get a new contract this year. I did spend about 10 years at a commuter airline before this. That is a little long but 9/11 messed up the industry for everyone for 5 years. I was lucky to have a job at all back then. A commuter FO might make $20k to $40k a year but this depends on the commuter and years of service. A commuter captain might make $50k to $100k a year, again....depends. Major airline FO's can make $75k to $120k a year and captains $150k to $280k. Is it worth it? Dunno. I cannot stress enough the hardships of comming up the airline ladder. Especially at your age (46 years old). I have seen many, many, many of my peers go through failed marriages and poor health because of this job. If I had to do it again I don't really know if I would and this comes from a guy who has "made it". But I will admit that when I am doing a trans-con and looking at the vistas that there are much worse ways to make a dollar. Keep in mind too that an airline pilot: 1. Gets a medical every six months. You fail: good chance you lose your job. 2. Gets a simulator checkride every year. You fail: Might lose your job. 3. You are getting the equal to HUNDREDS of chest X-rays a year flying at 37000 feet. Go over the pole? much more = cant be good for you! (<---nasty thing pilots and the gov dont talk about) 4. Airlines are run by assholes who screw the employee to turn a profit. Airlines are disposable. 5. You will be judged by the public and give up certain rights. Drug and alcohol testing at work random. 6. You do not get paid for much of the work you do. 7. Airline industry is effected by world events much more so than other jobs. Why do airline pilots make good money? THEY HAVE EARNED IT! But at the end of the day. I am home more so than not. I never take any form of work home with me. I make well into six figures. I get to fly. EDIT: Also keep in mind that at your age you will never really see the benefit of climbing a senority list as there will be many guys senoir to you and younger than you. This means you will retire before them and never pass them on the list. At the airlines: Senority is EVERYTHING.
  18. OT: Skyrim 1.5 update is "Brutal"

I disabled the "killcam" as I play in first person and I find it imersion killer. I modded the crap outa Skyrim. Still only level 7.
  19. OT: 2012 Is The Year I Do It

This is what happens when they DON'T release a game! Come on! Release OFF2 before these guys wither away to nothing!
  20. So I had a thread about the AI in Skyrim and it was immediatly moved to the pub. There are no less than three other OT threads here on the first page so why was just mine moved? What is up with that? What is the "code" to not get moved? When one can't see OFF related threads for OT ones, some OT ones get moved to the Pub. They have a better chance of surviving if they have at least some relevance to the Great War, or flying, but if they don't, they get moved to the pub, where they actually have a wider audience. Cheers, shredward
  21. Why Was My Thread Moved?

    Hey! Wheres my wallet?!?
  22. OT: A Very Interesting AI

Okay I bought Skyrim after reading the other thread started by Hellshade I think. Anyway I am hooked. I wanted to share a little funny story that might give a small glimps into the inner workings of the AI in the game. Deep stuff man. So I am a total Noob in RiverWood. I have slowed time to timescale=5 so days and nights are much longer than default (20). I have just been killing time learning the game and fine people of Riverwood. The days are long and I don't venture too far and the nights are spent in the pub with the town drunk before I make eyes at the innkeepers wife and go to bed alone. I am taking it slow. Anyway I get around to doing the blacksmith tutorial and I am having fun. I make myself some leather armour and I want to improve it but I need more leather. For a few days I have noticed a large elk across the river from town that hangs out in a field so I grab my bow and off I go! I spook it at first and it runs away down river so I stalk it over the next half hour near the old womans house (no hot daughters). I finally get a good bead on it in a field and I draw back an arrow (with spider poison on it) and shoot the elk. I hit! He is not down! He runs......now I have to chase. Here is the cool part: He runs back across the river and down the path into Riverwood as I chase him. When I get into Riverwood everyone is scrambling to kill the elk! It's like they are all hungry for fresh meat! The Blacksmith is chasing the elk down the road through town and the woodchopping elf is taking pot-shots at it with his bow! Even my drinking buddy is running after the elk with a mug of ale! LOL! Really made my day as I have not seen a game with depth like this before. This will kill some time before P4 for sure. I guess I'll man up soon and venture over to Whiterun or whatever. What a blast! Not sure what I like best: magic, bows, or swords.
  23. OT: A Very Interesting AI

Good advice Bullethead. I suppose I will get to proper adventuring soon it's just that I love to mess around as this game is so frikkin huge! I still keep downloading so many mods I am still tweaking it. I have "deadly dragons" even though I have not seen a dragon yet. It is so much fun to explore and tinker. It is the randomness that is great. While stalking the elk in my OP I saw a lizard-man running through my field. I ran after him and caught him and he was just known as "Theif". He really didnt want to talk to me but I always wonder where the game had him going to. Just great.
  24. Why Was My Thread Moved?

But I don't want to talk about Skyrim with the Cretans in the pub! One keeps smiling at me funny. I want to talk about Skyrim with you fine chaps.
