MiG-17F "Fresco-C"
paulopanz replied to paulopanz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
It seems You can haven't overwrited Mig17F.ini file and You're using a previous (yours) protected (only reading) one, Please take a try use that You have in the pack or right click on it and check out only reading (I don't know the exact words as I use an italian win 7) option. Be sure to have patched your SF-2 (which one you use?) as the last skins are in JPG format. -
Su-34 Skins
paulopanz replied to WINGSOVERISRAEL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
David, these skins are wonderful! To enjoy them I had to rename each skin in "SU-34" convert in JPEG (I don't know why bmp format doesn't work ...) and make 5 new skin folders with proper texture.ini, decals.ini and needed tga files ..... Maybe not all the people here at CA is able to rebuild your work, so it could be better if you could upload a ready to use skin pack .... Only a hint: is better don't paint numbers on textures but adding them as decals so we can have several different planes togheter ...... If you need some help please call. Again compliments: a real great work, mate! -
View File Lightning F.52 & F.53 In order to provide an urgent counter to the air incursions, with Saudi towns close to the border being bombed by Egyptian aircraft, an additional interim contract, called "Magic Carpet", was placed in March 1966 for the supply of six ex-RAF Lightnings (four F.2s and two T.4 trainers, redesignated F.52 and T.54 respectively), six Hawker Hunters, two air defence radars and a number of Thunderbird surface-to-air missiles. The "Magic Carpet" Lightnings were delivered to Saudi Arabia in July 1966, with an additional F.52 being delivered in May 1967 to replace a Lightning lost in an accident. Lightning F.52 Slightly modified ex-RAF F.2 single-seat fighters for export to Saudi Arabia (5 converted - 4 in service). Lightning F.53, otherwise known as the Export Lightning, developed as a private venture by BAC; while the Lighning had originated as an interception aircraft, this version was to have a multirole capability for quickly interchanging between interception, reconnaissance, and ground-attack duties. The F.53 was based on the F.6 airframe and avionics, including the large ventral fuel tank, cambered wing and overwing pylons for drop tanks of the F.6, but incorporated an additional pair of hardpoints under the outer wing. These hardpoints could be fitted with pylons for air-to-ground ordnance, including two 1,000 lb (450 kg) bombs or four SNEB rocket pods each carrying 18 68 mm rockets. A gun pack carrying two ADEN cannon and 120 rounds each could replace the forward part of the ventral fuel tank.[20][nb 1] Alternative, interchangeable packs in the forward fuselage carried two Firestreak missiles, two Red Top missiles, twin retractable launchers for 44× 2-inch rockets, or a reconnaissance pod fitted with five 70 mm Type 360 Vinten cameras. paulopanz replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
".......... Paulopanz, I'm looking at you" And I was looking for this Eric! You made a great work! Sometimes ago Spillone104 & I looked at these foxbats and took the max files (Alex should still have them ....) to improve ALL the line up. But as far as I remember the planes measures weren't so good and Centurion started his better project (still a WIP) ..... so we gave up. I think that something could be done as here we have ALL versions, Centurion's one is still behind the horizon and I'm very interested in repainting, restoring, fixing and upgrading existing skins and decals, maybe adding something new..... BUT I ask from a 3D artist some little tweakings in deleting spikes/tractor beams from some versions (PD for example ...) and maybe fixing brake chutes too. Baffmeister could improve the FM too .... Someone could take care of these birds lods ? -
I totally agree with Hans Topp, but I hope that new bases (and why not) better and further ones could be added on Belgium, Netherlands, France, Denmark and Poland as did in last NATO install. At last with this new fantastic scenery and Stary previous magnificent work SF-2EU is a whole new game .... .... far better than any expansion Tk (sorry today Tw) could make, if finaly he could stop playng with his silly mobile phones. So thank you so much.
