I use the old PaintShopPro, is from the Paleozoic, but still works great, even If it cannot open DDS, for that I use Gimp. -

ARDU Mirage F.1's
Stratos posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
In mid 70's some structural cracks were found on the RAAF Mirage III fleet, altough a crash program was devised to fix the problem, the Australian goverment decided to buy a stopgap solution, purchasing 26 Mirage F.1 directly from France, the planes were really liked by its pilot and soldiered with the RAAF until year 2000 with some modernization programs in the meantime, surviving the Mirage III for a long shot and also flying along the F/A-18A that was choosen to replace the Mirages. Why the odd number you will ask, the first 24 planes including 2 two seaters were designated for squadron use, and two single seaters were keep by the Aircraft Reasearch and Development Unit in order to devise some specific solutions tailored specifically to thew RAAF, including modified ECM pods, flare launchers and some speficic engine changes. The ARDU F.1's were some of the last to be retired of operational use when they tested some self defense suits that were then installed on the RAAF Hornets. Of course during their ARDU service the two F.1's used the infamous Fanta Can scheme that made the planes a welcome sight for plane spotters and plastic modellers around the world. When Thunder Rolled and Winds of Change - September 2021
Stratos replied to MigBuster's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters Series News
I'm wondering how much time we will have to wait in order to see a release of this, not rushing, simply curious, as I'm really looking forward to this release. Also If Payware, any idea of the price? -

Is there a way to have multiple carriers in one group?
Stratos replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
When using the YAP carriers I usually edit the mission in order to have two carriers, one in launch config, and the other with landing config, in order not to have problems landing. So I think it works If you plan something like this. -
What If Screenshot Thread.......

Even before the chinese civil war ended, the americans knew they will need to fly over mainland China in order to gather as many intel as possible. Daylight flights would be too much a provocation, so the USAF was tasked with finding a plane that could fly at night, fast and capable of being updated with several intel gathering equipment. USAF took its job seriously, but the existing bombers altough providing enough room for new equipment are too slow for chinese defenses, then a WW2 veteran came with an idea, why not to upgrade the existing P-61 airframes existing in USCON storage sites? The crews must be all american, but the planes will fly with Republic of China markings, soon the new EP-61W as the "new" version is to be known was flying tests over Taiwan getting ready for its incoming task. Apart from the new antennas that tell everyone the new plane main task, the EP-61W were updated with new external fixed wingtip tanks, and several wet hardpoints to carry external tanks. Want to say thanks to AngelP for work on the existing SF2 mod, new antennas, wingtip tanks, drop tanks... Soon, more pics of operational history to come! -
The interesting thing of SF2 (never encountered in another sim) is that we can have Escort Jammers, a very nice point for such planes!

Strike Fighters 2 Screenshots Thread

Continuing... After working all night long the armorers make a special package for one of the Jaguars of the base. A couple of odd missiles hang from the feline wings... With the heavy loadout the Jag struggles to get airborne. But soon is underway with his wingman with a more conventional loadout, as a backup... The escort is nearby, one never knows what the Lybians can launch in the air, altough the early hours of the morning should find them with their pants down. Once over enemy territory the flight proceed at a exhausting very low level with barely enough light to see anything. But the training pay off and the flight arrives at the red line and find its target, missile underway! Tense moments in Capitain Delacroix cockpit The missile found its mark, and the Lybians get up and start firing with all they had. Fortunately the chaff spoils their AAA radars The two Jags get back to friendly territory. Delacroix waits his wingman to land And then land, to be hurrily directed to the small hangar, to get its lasting missile defused and put in a box again. Later in the evening the same Transall departs back to France with the new missile tested in operational conditions and with a clear message sent to Gaddafi. -

We do not know If TK will ever share the code, maybe the smart thing to do is to start looking just in case. -

mlracing made very nice mods without the code, so was definitely possible. -

Stratos replied to jack33's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
We requested it a lot of times, but TK simply answered that we can do what we want with the EXE except redistributing it, that means we can do a patch that changes legally purchased games, of course will be a lot easier with the code. -

Everyday I hope someone crack the EXE code and we can start adding serious stuff without being tied to TK, when TK already said that he doesn't care what we do. -

1983, a Armeé de l'Air Transall lands at dusk at forward air base somewhere in the Sahel. To be continued! Soon is unloaded of all its cargo, and the boxes moved to a nearby makeshift hangar... -
We should make a public request with signatures on his Discord... Just saying.

That would be great, but don't want to generate any problem with Sundowner, so hope he's ok with this. -

Stratos replied to Stratos's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Modding/Skinning Chat
The mod was imported long ago as the french Jag A, but DCS changed the way to import models and need to be made again. I asked Sundowner for the SF2 MAX but he refused, that's why I needed to search for another source.
