  1. I was not referring to Yugoslavia as a civil war, but rather as the kind of conflict, like civil wars, usually brings to the surface the worst parts of mankind. Like Rwanda was not probably a civil war but rather an ethnic war.
  2. "And whose fault is that? Not really his, he didn't create this situation of fear, he merely exploited it, and rather successfully. Cassius was right, the fault dear Brutus is not in our stars, but in ourselves." Edward R. Murrow was a great Man.
  3. Me neither. However I believe, that under the right circumstances all "our" civilized cap can fall and accept the abominable. And in the case of what happened with Germany, Soviet Union, Chile, etc, etc that was only a part of the equation, I agree. In the case Yugoslavia, Rwanda or any past, present and future civil war, I believe it's even more easier to follow that heart. We will.
  4. +1 I was just going to say basically the same Flyby. I'm using it as my email client for two years, and plan to still going on using it, with or without updates. To be honest I don't need any more updates, as long it receives my mail. I like it as it's now. Much better than M$ client Live mail, IMO.
  5. You can call it Nazism but in the history of mankind we have seen this intolerance pattern repeated several times. Maybe it never assumed the same massive form, but that's only because we had a global war. This is not exclusive to Germans. It lies probably in our deepest roots. Sometimes it's only buried, hidden and waiting to be relieve. I do believe we all have our heart of darkness, individually speaking. But this extends to our societies. And everything is so frail and easily breakable. My permanent bedside table book, is "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad. It's helps me to remind, each day, how frail is the line that connects man to the real "civilization" values.
  6. Don't worry, we are flying to th e two aerodromes. We'll never leave CA. It feels like home. The quickest recovery, Erik.
  7. And he answered back on that thread. He's still recovering but it's OK.
  8. I know that, OlPaint. I've posted there also.
  9. Does anybody knows how is he?
  10. Sad to hear that, Olham. It must even be harder for a German. I too stop drinking alcohol when I quit smoking, and still miss both. I only drink beer at meals (and far from being always). But I don't think beer should be considered an alcoholic drink. I think most of the men agree with me. We Portuguese call it as "sumo de cevada" (barley juice).
  11. You need a notebook and mobile connection, Olham. Specially when you're in your peregrinations to your hometown. How's the beer?
  12. That would definitely cut the crap I read sometimes, that OFF is just a mod.
  13. Looking at the bright side, your sanity and your hardisk (Vista just loves to trash it) will surely appreciate it.
  14. Have a safe journey, Olham.
  15. Congratz, Olham. In ten years I 'll catch you.
  16. Glad to know that you're recovering, Tony. My wishes for the quickest recovery possible. Keep us informed, please.
  17. It's really great to hear you're feeling better, tranquilo. Keep us updated, mate.
  18. Can't wait to listen the full score. Maybe some of the scores can be transcript for choir, like S. Barber had done with the Adagio for Strings and Agnus Dei, At least you won't need the full orchestra.
  19. We need the list, I don't mind if it's incomplete.
  20. Thanks to let us know that everything is alright with you, tranquilo. All the best and a quick recovery. We need you in OFF's skies.

    Been Out

A quick recovery to your dad, Dave.
  22. Don't forget to shave... I mean shave face. I want a Youtube link when available.
  23. It would make sense that some would start in the air, because not everybody go to war at the same hour. But to be honest never bothered with it.
