I'm with Pol. The game is not so bad, Siggi. I didn't have any issues so far, and I've it almost since day 1. I didn't try MP because I'm more SP player nowadays. They will improve the game I'm pretty sure.

??? You just replace sounds.xml file in CFSWW1 main folder with the new one. And then copy over the wave sounds into the sounds folder.

And when you install OFF you've to do the same for offmanager.exe as you did for cfs3.exe. You must Run as Administrator and compatibility mode set to XP.

The XML file copy to CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields main folder. The wave files you must copy them to CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\sounds folder.

The issue is what will you feel in, let us say, in 3 months after buying. I'm sure that after the first week of playing you didn't have time to feel bored. However RoF is a still rather young project. Maybe they will add more content within time.

The poll is in SimHQ forum. After second thought I should had vote differently. I vote for "Getting bored" at the time. But the truth is I don't touch it for more than 2 months. For me is more "I play other games now". Since first day I bought, 6 months ago, the sim never was able to caught my interest. That's why I looked for anther WWI sim. And I found it.

I doubt that there was a deliberate atempt from Olham to sugar coat history, like you've said, angles1100. Even if I can't fully agree with his statement, still part of the decision to surrender was political and not military; even when in pure military terms, Germany couldn't last long. But I agree with Olham, when he refers to the concept of bad side and good side (though I don't think that was the catfish intention). It's too black and white. Life and politics are never like that. So true. That's really unrealistic. OFF is getting better in that aspect in campaign mode. But one of the things that I really like in RoF is the wind buffeting effect. It seems quite well implemented. It gives you the feeling of riding a wild horse and also the idea of fragility. Part of the difficulty of get a kill is due to that effect. It's just a matter of getting used to it.

I might be wrong, but that 17 hour figure is only for RFC. That number might be inflated by Bloody April.
