Back from a long break and now have SF2V with space question
KJakker replied to TheStig's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Welcome back to Strike Fighters. The first thing I would recommend it to download Mues Toolbox (http://combatace.com/files/file/15942-mues-toolbox/). The LOD viewer is a must have and the CAT extractor is better than the one provided by ThirdWire. As for the ENVIRONMENTSYSTEM.INI, in SF2 it is located in the FlightData.CAT. Now you said that you have SF2:Vietnam and you are buying SF2:Israel and SF2:Europe, did you buy just "Strike Fighters 2"? The reason I am asking is that as I recall a number of the add-on terrains call for item that are only included in the Desert.CAT file that come with it. Ultimately I would recommend getting five full merge, SF2, SF2:V, SF2:E, SF2:I, SF2:NA, plus both expansion packs, SF2:Exp1, SF2:Exp2, and AI Plane Pack's 1 & 2. Okay, that was a little overboard on my part, however I understand how budgets are after the holidays just keep it in mind for the future. I have to go for now but I will check back in with some more advice later tonight. -
Great find Wrench. I am remembering how it was for me when the Wing Commander Saga team made their mod in the FreeSpace 2 source code project engine. Seeing all of those WC3 ships with relatively modern graphics was incredible and this looks like it will do the same for X-Wing. I hope that the XWVM team properly makes the correct capital ship models like the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade project did.

So the Russian's have added an anti-mouse defense system to their ships.

Search for "Bulk Image Downloader". I have gotten good results with it though sometimes it can take a little work to get it to see the correct images depending upon how the website is structured.

Wrench, have you tried the ImpTac Ship Patch? Site link below. According to the included "Craft Lists for XvTEd" the Missile Boat is part of it. http://members.tripod.com/tfa_maverick/patch.htm Edit: There is also a ship patch located at the address below that might have some of what you need. http://www.abstraction.com/derek2/xvtpatches.html If I find more I will let you know. Edit2: I misread your question. I will take a look at that XVT-Enhanced patch in your link.

Formation.ini - Allowable Parameters
KJakker replied to Mike Dora's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
As I recall there is a ratio that has to be maintained between the "BaseLevel=" number and the total of the "Level[01].Size=", "Level[02].Size=" and, "Level[03].Size=". I discovered it while testing B-52 formations, however it has been so long since I played with it that I can't remember what it is. Edit: Also I just noticed that this is for SF1 so more differences I am unaware of between it and SF2. Sorry and can not be of more help. -

I already have prototypes for all of the guns used by the Surcouf Class from a French naval guns pack that I was working on but never got around to releasing. Let me know if you want me to clean up those files and PM them to you. -

I will give that Moskva a look over. -
In Kon-Tiki Thor Heyerdahl talked about the flying fish. The crew of Kon-Tiki ate a lot of them due to often finding them each morning having glided onto the deck during the night. One time a flying fish almost landed right in their frying pan!

The two things I found the most interesting was the comment about how good the graphics are which in are modern context are laughable, but when compared to a flight sim my dad had on an old IBM computer which was instrument only is quite impressive, and one of the Mac games talked about at the end as I remember playing it on computers at school at the time.

KJakker replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I did a little looking and I think this is correct for P-47D units. I would need to do more research to determine which ones were Bubbletop and which were Razorback and I might be missing some units. Pacific 35th, 58th, 348th Fighter Groups and 35th FS of the 8th FG and 9th FS of the 49th Group of the 5th Air Force. P-47N 318th, 508th Fighter Groups of the 7th Air Force. 413th, 414th, and 507th Fighter Groups 20th Air Force. Edit: Wrench, please correct this if any of it is wrong. -

Does that mean that the driver issues my GTX 760 was having with SF2 are fixed by the latest drivers as well? I have been running with older drivers due to that. -
Was there ever a seperate CFT for an F-15 done? eg fake pilot etc
KJakker replied to dtmdragon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
If you have a separate appropriately shaped pylon LOD you could set up a false pylon via the fake pilot method. That is how the external stores pylons were added to the ThirdWire B-52D. -

Here are a bunch of videos related to North American air defense during the cold war that I found on Youtube, covering Nike, BOMARC, SAGE and some video recorded at the Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence (CFMAD) at North Bay, Ontario Canada. None of these are mine, I just found them and thought the people here might be interested in them. It was a time of national paranoia and fear. In the Los Angeles area, this county's military was looking to protect it, and the west coast. from Russian bomber strikes. Two of these bases were with-in the borders of the old Rancho La Puente... and we were thankful. Edit: Guess I have to wait a bit before I can make another post.
