  1. Yeah man, PS. I've used back in the day Photoshop Elements, which is far cheaper than CS3, but just as powerful, and I honestly use perhaps 5% of the features available even in CS3.
  2. And that's usually the best type to have posting comments, the ones who want to learn. I learned I'm still good at texturing, I suck at gear work (though maybe if I had more patience. I learned to take the time and effort to build something from scratch, rather than falling on a template. And I learned some more ini stuff that I never really paid attention to. So it's all good man After some trial and error, got a general weathering on the buddy pod. Still have more detail work to do but I'm somewhat happy with the result. And while we're on this subject, it should be noted that this, and the drop tanks are split into four parts, so getting this to be weathered took some creative erasing to get the effect. Still it's preliminary but as said, I'm happy that it worked out.
  3. Operationally the US Navy never used the triple rails like the USAF due to issues of drag if I remember right and launch weight. They just use single missiles on adapter rails. Yes the E is laser guided (by lazercats).
  4. Real ones, you can tell by how the fuselage LERX curves to it, and how the fuselage straigtens out at the inside tip of the canard. Can't wait to fly the beastie
  5. Thanks both, and FC will send ASAP I like to believe that by showing progress I get more feedback on the work I'm doing, or what JAT81500 is doing, and FC. Jarhead1 was going to show some screenies of the tanking ability in action (he had it setup but loadout issues are hampering it I assume) And JAT81500's weathering layer added to the other ones:
  6. I've noticed that on one time I was in the SoCal map, I jerked the plane and all of a sudden I blew up, guess now I actualy have to be careful . But OT, I do have to carry more A2A missiles yet again, damn Iraqis spawn like nothing else... Doing a deep strike and all of a sudden swarms of MIG's, and other assorted stuff comes around... good work though, becoming an ace quicker yet again
  7. Honestly the plane is good to go, just waiting on the ATFLIR model (I'm using the AV-23-R in it's place for now). Once that's skinned and detailed, as well as the buddy pod, I hope by the end of the week at least for the E model. The F and G will be after of course.
  8. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autoc...p;showfile=5717 It's always a goody, perhaps my favorite one.
  9. String of updates, JAT81500 has done some phenomenal work, with the compression of the gear, light settings, and a prototype decal of VFA-143. I had thought FC came up with a "damage model" but also is included when I got bounced by a Flanker over Iraq. Also added feature that JAT81500 caught was the "toeing" of the rudders before takeoff, characteristic of the Hornet line.
  10. Danke Crab_02, das war super references! (I truly hope I didn't butcher that up...)
  11. It's so righteous, only the fact that game engine limitations don't allow us to have the fun with that plane as much as we'd like.
  12. Ahh okay, shadowing with textures... yes I was contemplating that, and the FSX Super Bug uses that quite alot to good effect. I'll experiment with it though, as I know under the LERX where the intakes stick out is a good spot.
  13. Yeah man, I cleared the bird hot after he got removed... Anyways, I downloaded it and so far the selection of aircraft definitely is nice. But it's hard to discount any mod due to game limitations. Every mod is a compromise between what you can do, and what you can't, so I definitely like it.
  14. Okay what specific issues do you have regarding the Hornet? It's fast, maneuverable... I don't know what you're looking for Stratos really. As far as the Pig... I would (I use the A version mostly) set your gunsight to ground attack mode and use the bottom of the sight as the "bottom" of your aircraft (works well for most Russian aircraft too). I fly routinely like that and no issues. Unfortunately NVGs aren't modelled so not to be rude, but you're gonna have to turn up the brightness of your monitor But here's something rough to get the ball rolling Stratos. I'd really like some input as there's a wide variety of topics to go over. Well I have some more but not sure if you want it specific. LLFWOX.zip
  15. Started some general weathering and slimer "off" detail.
  16. I'm using the A version, matter of fact I started it up last night. I got the peectures done, need to do the particular text for it.
  17. Fine I'll "expose" the eels and lazercats. It's just something to lighten up the mood here that's all. We can get pretty serious and some of us (USAFBLT is a complete slacker I tell you ) do need a good laugh every once in awhile. I've been in pretty crappy moods and sometimes a B-52 looking EEL is just something that makes your day. As for pods.... you may have to muck with the nations. Pylons accept NATO, WP, SOVIET, USAF, USN, etc. so you are going to have to check some nations or look in the _Data.ini (not aircraftdata.ini) or adjust times. I'd recommend using the Weapons Editor, as somethings you can't figure out on Notepad.
  18. Nice one Brain32, "lolcat" I can haz skin!
  19. I was going to say VX-9 myself, but as said, was contemplating eels..... And no problem, and thank you!
  20. Sometimes using a car to check out a new apartment is so passe..
