I might have missed it somehow, but Fubar512s S-300 isn't in the file downloads. Could be my vision missed it, but oh well. The reason I brought it up was that it has a userlist, and I added a userlist to Farid's S-300. I'm not sure if Greece actually used the S-300 (I don't ever remember any controversy over that), but Farid's S-300 has a userlist now, as I'll have to look up who uses the S-300 later tomorrow. Well after a quick Wiki search yes indeed Greece operates an S-300 site. I'll have to update and upload the modified ini's tomorrow as I'll be pretty busy for a bit but will get it out. Oh yeah, future plans for the Super Hornet pack: - Bug Fastcargo to see if he can update the models for more detail and some improvement in details and the like, both the regular Super Hornets and the Growler. - I want to add the Block III jets so that they don't use the sub-pylon for HARM missiles. I think I know how to do it, and can probably save time by not using pylons (I think I know how to edit the ini, wish me luck), as whenever ravenclaw uploads his weaponspack 3 I'll have the AGM-88G available, and want to more or less make it work with the Block III jets since that's the newest version being introduced to the USAF/USN and probably NATO. - Growler improvements with the NGJ (Next Generation Jammer). Even with the pods not working it's what the USN is moving to for the Growler fleet. I think (don't know) if we need to have a new Growler model for the pods. I kinda hope so because I think the Growler will be having some Block III Super Hornet upgrades. But I need to track down that by myself. - The cockpit is the only issue for the Block III jets, as the 3D external model will be the same more or less with the Super Hornets. That's all I can think of before I go to bed, but I like to keep the pack working and updated as time goes on for the most part.

EA-6 squadron decals
Flanker562 replied to LilLucy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yeah as it lists which decals (the decals.ini) that the plane uses. There's a VAQ-129 skin that has decals and you probably should check the Decals folder and see if the decals are there, but from looking at one of the planes it's just generic skins. -
EA-6 squadron decals
Flanker562 replied to LilLucy's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
There are squadron-specific skins in the pack, but not all of them are that. I think it's just a generic skin to work with. -
And here are the Block 50 and Block 52 updates. Block 50 updates: -Internal ECM (Block III ALQ-131) -JSOW capability Block 52 updates: - Internal ECM (ALQ-131 Block III) - AN-APG-83(v)9 radar -JSOW capability Note it's for the VIPER TEAM F-16C Blocks 50 and 52 only: I figured that it would be a nice update. Simply extract the Ini's and overwrite. I'll find the topic and post there in the file announcements so other people can see it too, rather than just here in this topic. F16CB50-B52.7z

Gave the F-16 Block 52 JSOW capability. I'm thinking of asking Ravenclaw to see if he can't do new models for them, they're kinda old. To add JSOW capability just add "ASM" to the appropriate pylons. I'll probably upload another small update as I go through the files. Maybe do the Block 50 F-16C and upload that along with the Block 52 version inis.

Ran a test with Farid's S-300 and the radar is targetable from a massive distance (I don't know the exact range but it's far), so those who are looking to kill the site (If you're placing it on the map, or it spawns), you can use a JSOW to kill it, or any long-range missile that you may have. Of course given the randomness of the game you never know what you might get, but if you're aware of which one it is, then you'll have an idea anyway.

Ran some tests with the F-16. It seems on a given day the game decides to burn through the ECM. For the F-16 it doesn't apparently matter what setting (NOISE_JAMMER or DUAL-MODE), or I did it wrong somehow when setting it up, but Farid''s SA-10 radar just goes right through the jamming. As for the EA-18G jammer, it suffered burn-through at like five miles to the radar, well within strike range with say, a Maverick or a JSOW fired from a plane that targeted the radar. I have yet to see if the ESCORT JAMMER role actually works. I have a good A2G mission in a modern Vietnam setting. The run-through I took yesterday and the current settings of the jammer allowed me to bypass some SA-17s (one never fired), and I was being locked up probably by another SA-17 or something else, but a quick dive to the ground broke that lock and I managed to make it home unscathed. The F-4Gs I had didn't make it though :(. I set up an escort jammer flight to test to see if it works for the AI, so there's that. I did a flight as a test with no threats and the most it seems so far is that it's supposed to protect an AI or your flight from radars.

Here's my shot at ECM for the Block 52 Viper by the Viper Team. I modeled it after the ALQ-131 Block III pod, so it works, just not that great against an SA-10 radar apparently. Anyway won't be a thing but you can definitely re-engineer it based off of my work for at least a functioning jammer. F-16C_B52_Data.7z

Did a quick test and found out that DECEPTIVE_JAMMER and NOISE_JAMMER is your uber jam anything modes for your internal ECM. DUAL_MODE is fairly realistic as it models burn through, where the other two modes work at any range. The catch is that you must be far away from the radar to jam it. Otherwise, once it goes off you can't jam it, i.e. turning off and on doesn't work, it's just how the game works. So if you want realism go with DUAL_MODE, and if you want uber ECM go with the other two. I don't know how the logic did it since early ECM didn't work that well (from what I understand), so a USN A-7 can jam radars very good in the game. I don't know or care about the real-world performance (and if I somehow knew, I wouldn't tell you anyway) of the ECM jammers since the podded ECM doesn't do shit for you. But that's just a quick look at the ECM functionality in the game. Hopefully (as we've already beaten a dead horse) it can be fixed in the future, but that's what I'm seeing. And as for the Growler, it seems like there is no internal jammer for it, just the ALQ-99 pods that serve as the jammer system. Well for now unless a miracle happens I won't be removing the jammer from the plane until the pod situation can be sorted out. Also retextured the ALQ-99 pods:

Well did some tests and found out that podded ECM jammers don't seem to work, or maybe the pods were too low powered. I did the test by removing the internal jammer on the Growler and found out with pods that the pods didn't seem to work. Is that a known issue or bug? If so then it's one of the other innumerable fixes that needs to be done, sometime. Who knows if it's on TK's radar or not (more than likely not). But otherwise I put it back in and it worked fine. Found out the setting to allow the Growler to jam radars more effectively. I'll post an update here for the Growlers. I think this is the best fit setting to work with the EA-6B Superpack, so there is jammer capability when assigning it as an Escort Jammer role, and for SEAD: ReferenceName=AN/ALQ-214v5 SystemType=ECM_JAMMER JammerType=NOISE_JAMMER JammerStrength=118.8 MinFreq=2.0 MaxFreq=20.0 CanJamCW=TRUE MinExtentPosition=-0.404,-2.859,0.608 MaxExtentPosition=0.404,-0.824,1.018
-
Also tweaked the ECM in the Block II birds (E/F) and EA-18Gs (RAAF included). Until it gets updated here are the new values: [ECM] ReferenceName=AN/ALQ-214v5 SystemType=ECM_JAMMER JammerType=DUAL_MODE JammerStrength=118.8 MinFreq=2.0 MaxFreq=20.0 CanJamCW=TRUE MinExtentPosition=-0.404,-2.859,0.608 MaxExtentPosition=0.404,-0.824,1.018 Simply copy and paste, and go fly. It will be included in a new update sometime.

This is how I'm running my tests really, to simply fly towards the radar (represented by the red ground object) and see how it works. Something interesting that the ICAP III Prowler in the Prowler Superpack works good against Farid's SA-10 radar, completely suppresses it and you can fly over the radar and no peep. I think that the internal jammers do that, since they're listed because the aircraft doesn't have actual podded ALQ-99s like the Growler does. So if you're looking for a good escort jammer then check out the EA-6B Supepack. As far as the Growler is concerned, may have to modify the settings and see what I can come up with for the internal jammer.

In going through the EA-6B Superpack I noted some progression in the power of the ALQ-99s that they modeled. So I added more power to the ALQ-99s that the Growlers use, and also the podded ones too (Low and High-band): Against Farid's SA-10 burn-through is about 15 miles or so. That's a bit better and probably realistic (I don't know how effective the real world one is of course, just taking the hint that they upgraded the pods over the years, and I'm sure it's pretty good so far). Replace the jammers and overwrite and you'll be good to go. It will be in a next update, but that won't be for some time. ALQ99.7z
