  1. Downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Don't know about the ordnance statistics from Allied Force... but something tells me that a microwave oven isn't going to defeat a missile... especially if the power grid happens to be destroyed.
  2. The real planes have better engines, highly trained pilots, and water injection, but they are still limited as to what loads they can carry for a vertical take-off. Most of the time they use a short, rolling take-off.
  3. As Rico would say... KAAAAbooom!
  4. Gotcha, no harm! I agree completely!
  5. Come on Brain, you know that we post alot of news about former military personnel. Just because we didn't post it first doesn't mean we don't care...
  6. I really could of used one of those when I drove threw Mass today.. along with some LGBs...
  7. As far as I know (not sayin' I know a whole lot...), but all sidewinders fit on any rail, no USAF/USN differences (maybe with the -9x these days, not sure). Here's a link for more info :AIM-9 Info:
  8. They're probably realllllly light on fuel, with a planned tanker rendezvous down the road.
  9. Right on FC!
  10. It's got nothing to do with what type of aircraft you're in, it's based on altitude (or cabin altitude). Mooney's aren't pressurized, and I'm guessing (heading towards a slippery slope here..) he had an issue with his oxygen system, leading to incapacitation and subsequent loss of control.
  11. Very cool! I'm sure FC will be proud!
  12. Looks like hypoxia (I'm assuming that's the cause...) claims another unwary victim. Link

  17. Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge: FAA-H-8083-25A (FAA Handbooks) (Paperback) Amazon The FAA makes all of it's publications available, for FREE online. You'll need to print them out. Or you can buy them from a company (typically ASA). This one runs about $25. Here's the FAA SITE
  18. Dagger, congrats to you and your grandson! Hopefully you'll be able to spend more time together, and he'll learn to appreciate and respect nature, and firearms.
  19. Had the bombers from the Collings Foundation up @ KMHT this weekend, pluse a two seat P-51B (pretty rare). Here are some pics of the Mustang, the rest are in my Plane Pics gallery. HERE http://forum.combatace.com/uploads/1253663847/gallery_574_361_228346.jpg
