Time to improve the old SF2 jets
Trotski replied to GKABS's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
There are indeed a lot of models that need a face lift, along with a fair few missing types too, a huge endeavour, I wish I had the knowledge, and the tools to be able to do it, but alas, I am only an old groundpounding, grunt. -

Oooop I totally misread, what you said, my apologies, as Daddy said, you CAN convert SF1 files to work in SF2, and there are a fair few that havent been re configured to SF2 standard. Again I apologise for not reading you post correctly. -

The last days of the Draken
Trotski replied to Spinners's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
It's because it is a Swedish mean machine, as most SAAB's are, and they dared to be different, same with the Viggen.....................Of course it aint a Lightning or a Jaguar, but hey, the SAAB's are just as sexy. -
What made everyone play SF2
Trotski replied to TheStig's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I had my first flight sim on my Amstrad 664, cannot for the life of me remember what it was called though, then I upgraded to the Amiga, and I really went in for Flight sims, I had Falcon, F16 Combat pilot, Birds of Prey, Gunship, F/a 18 , F14 fleet defender, and several more including several of the Janes series. I eventually got my first PC and continued the trend. My first big love was EAW, that got me hooked on modding and editing the sim, I prgressed to the IL2 series, and ended up with Lock on, then I discovered SF Gold........I have DCS, and IL2 Battle of.......well all of 'em actually, but I always come back to SF/FE as it is just so good, user friendly, uncomplicated, and fabulous to mod and skin, DCS is superb, but I am NOT a real fighter Pilot, and although I WAS in the RAF, I was an RAF Regiment Gunner, so I like things simple, as my poor ol' Rockape brain cannot be bothered with having to press 2 million buttons, and flick almost as many switches just to adjust the seat height in the pit heehehehehe. I find this series of sims ( SF/FE) to be fun, stress free ( mostly) and easy to use, fly, and mod/skin. Long may it continue.- 37 replies

Daddy.................I Do my best to keep up a smart and military standard of semi aggressive ( to idiots ) state of inebriation. Whilst indeed it can have detrimental effect when attempting to use Photoshop whilst in the seeing double phase, it does give me a sense of euphoria, and a dashing rakish devil may care attitude. That is untill the next morning when one surveys the disasterous results of Kraken, Beer, or Jim Beam.......Ah well, I'm too old ugly and stupid to chaange my errant ways now !!! -

Have a safe, and enjoyable Christmas everyone. Let us hope that the oncoming year is a better one than the trainwreck that was 2023 Spare a thought for the members of the Armed Forces on deployment around the world, and an extra special thought for the mebers of the Emergency Services, who work to keep us all safe and well Merry Christmas, and a very very Happy New Year.

That model is miles and miles better than the DAT ones for sure, I wouldn't mind getting hold of that myself if you have it to hand please Kev. -

Yes a Newer version of the F3D and EF-10B would be nice. but just some new skins for those of us that do have the A/C maybe something I will look at at some point, no promises though lol -
I was going to suggest the same option as daddy made. it would probably be cheaper than paying the likes of DHL or UPS.

A question About DA Mega Packs
Trotski replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
We all love Mega packs !! I know they are a bit more work to produce, but they are in the words of Tony the Tiger GRRRRRRRRRRRRate. -
They look like Soviet paint colours to me, just very bleached and worn I expect the Nigerian climate is not really paint friendly.

Hi looking for a pointer in the right direction , on one of our older aircraft, I am messing around with Borts Farmans, specifically the MF11 , as that is really the only shorthorn you can do anything with, as the gunners on the other ones are ancient, and rather awful looking these days, however as the MF11 is just like the Longhorn, I was attempting to remove the obseerver from the rear seat and have an armed observer using the rifle armed models ( as has be made possible on the MF 7 ) however as the bugger is hardwired in, I am experiencing some difficulty in hiding it, I can make the face disappear but the main body aint budging, so i am getting this problem................................... As you can see I still have the shadow of the original observer behind my replacement , so, my question is , can I hide this , and if so, how ? been trying to hide it all different ways but with no luck, as I said I can make his face disappear, but not the main part of him ......HELP !!!

Anyone who runs is a VC. Anyone who stands still is a well-disciplined VC UH-1H HUEY SLICKS ( VIETNAM WAR ) The final Huey pack ( for now ) in this series. 13 various slicks from the Vietnam war period. They include the following skins: Air America , 1/9 Cav, 82 Medical, 101 Airborne, 101 Aviation Company, 116 AHC 1 and 2 Platoon colours, 118 AHC 1 and 2 Platoon colours, 498 Medical, 9 Sqn RAAF, 213 Sqn VNAF, and finally 215 Sqn VNAF. Same drill as the previous packs, all in one plug and play ( hopefully, my track record of mistakes are over ) I am working on a gunship version of the Huey, however i am struggling with getting a working cockpit for the H model Huey, so a little patience and hopefully I shall have some armed and dangerous hueys for your enjoyment !! Thanks to Yakarov79 for the original model. As ever ENJOY -
What I'd like to see ...
Trotski replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I would tend to agree with this sentiment, and even though it would be merely static scenery, it would add some life to pretty bland airfields, of course I dont have the first clue about terrain modding, I would assume it should be relatively easy ( ish) to do this, though I would assume rather time consuming as each object would need to be hand placed on each airfield etc. -
