  1. My computer died.

I'll take comfort in your words. Because the only computer I have left to test my new HDD Is on is my old one that can barely run Vista ... okay I shouldn't be too critical of the ole gal as she is helping. But if the HDD can be saved then groovy. I'll just get a cheap rig that can run everything. Is there a decent motherboard that is compatible with the AMD FX-8320 Octa-Core processor?
  2. My computer died.

I'm hoping my hard drive can be saved. If so then I'll be fine.
  3. My computer died.

It was a cyberpower pc job that I got from Amazon.
  4. For years I've been wanting to get the hang of a complex sim like DCS A-10c and finally I'm getting to where I'm memorizing the startup sequence, and getting decent with the flight controls. If you remember several months ago I mentioned how MigBuster's contest hooked me into the world of DCS simulation. My experience was disastrous as it was comical. This time there is more success, while not perfect I was finally awarded with hearing the Hog's gun make short work of practice targets. I'll be getting into the weapons training segment later on today. But getting most of my systems in order is something I've been wanting to do for a while. There are some other DCS modules that I'm interested in trying and that has me asking: Compared to the A-10c are these other modules more complex, easier, or on the same level of difficulty?
  5. Question

A long time ago someone posted a series of some funny videos that used several DCS modules. All I remember is that it was in French and the two pilots were screwing around, one of them accidentally blew up their commanders jeep, they got demoted, flew A-10s. Does anyone here know what I'm talking about? I'm trying to find those videos again.
  6. Question

Oh wow they're still funny thank you Caesar
  7. Question

@Wrench I'm so glad you remembered it too I thought I was going crazy. @Caesar Thank you, thank you!
  8. Is the DCS-A10c Sim the easier to learn?

Dang I'm getting better. I had to punch out though because all my systems went off line and the engines flamed out. I was flying around doing a bunch of loops and rolls and flying upside down. Attempted restart ... it would've been cool if a Huey could pick me up.
  9. I was in when he landed in a suburb...I was really in when I saw who he'll be working for. It's like the aviation version of Lord of War.
  10. F-35 by the numbers

    Beautiful.
  11. Is the DCS-A10c Sim the easier to learn?

I did find those just now. For some reason that I thought that would launch my campaign so I ignored it. I claim my idiocy on this one thank you, sir.
  12. Three-point landing

Wow. Good thing that tree was able to cushion the landing somewhat.
  13. Is the DCS-A10c Sim the easier to learn?

I've been flying more and more training missions and getting just as addicted to the DCS series. I know I'm no where near digital combat ready yet but I'm getting better. I wish there was a free flight mode where I can do stuff without the tutorial getting in the way. But I'm targeting JDAMs and Paveways with a really high level of accuracy. For a while JDAMs where giving me problems but then I realized that in my startup procedure I wasn't allowing the NAV alignment to finish. Today just a few hours ago was the best damn flight I have ever had. A far cry from my first out. So Migbuster, CombatACE, thank you letting me know about DCS. I'm loving this. I just got to HOTAS sometime in the future when I can afford one.
  14. Any Marine Aviators in the House?

I just found the revised version. I think it flows a bit better.
  15. Any Marine Aviators in the House?

This is obviously a dated video ... but I'm wondering how accurate this is. Can anyone confirm?
  16. This is cool: LSO School.

Check out that entrance way ... that's neat.
  17. Can soundcloud links work here too?

@Erik Okay that's cool. I really like that feature.
  18. Can soundcloud links work here too?

Just seeing what things will work here. ... Yes I'm exploring the new features of the upgraded site.
  19. Is the DCS-A10c Sim the easier to learn?

Cool. Thank you for the information. I'd imagine tail draggers would be hard. I recall using the Chuck Yeager flight simulator back in the day. I could take off in most aircraft, expect the P-51 Mustang. I kept stalling after take off. It was the biggest pain in the neck for me to fly.
  20. Want some guys in the USA to rename the capital?

See I never thought about it the way you said it. ... Gepardology! I'm just being silly please forgive me. But your comment brought up something that I've been wondering about. You said some of those monuments are coming back. So haw as the past impacted modern day Germany from your perspective? How have people moved on from those dare I say dark days of your country?
  21. F-22 Startup (weird)

So I saw a couple of videos of F-22s starting up. They sound weird but they're quick with it.
  22. F-22 Startup (weird)

I guess it's the APU. But that whoosh part of it all. It reminds of seeing those prop planes start up (just a little). Contact! *Boom*
  23. Want some guys in the USA to rename the capital?

I think the problem is arrogance and ignorance. People too arrogant to educate themselves on the ideologies behind the symbols they see which leads to their ignorance thus allowing them to become the very the things they hate. Just with a different flag and slogans. Which if people want to get real nasty and technical about things... let me shut up.
