  1. Version

    113 downloads

Skinpack including 4 skins from Ace Combat 04; Yellow 13, Yellow 4, Jean-Louis, and Gene. The skin itself is edited from Jetfreak-7's Yellow 13 skin for HAWX, you can find it here --> http://jetfreak-7.deviantart.com/art/Su-37-Yellow-Squadron-331659969 A little info about the pilots: -Yellow 13 and 4 were part of the 156th Tactical Fighter Wing, also known as Aquila, however, due to the yellow bellies of their Su-37s, the squadron was commonly known as the Yellow Squadron. The nicknames of their pilots came from the number of their aircraft, for example, Yellow 13 isn't the thirteenth pilot of the squadron, he pilots the 013 aircraft. Four was killed during the Stonehenge assault after deciding to depart with her damaged Su-37, after a bomb exploded on their makeshift runway. Thirteen was shot down and probably killed during the Siege of Farbanti. Both pilots were shot down by Mobius One. -Jean-Louis and Gene are part of the Megalith Defense Squadron, a squadron hastily formed by a group of officers after the Second Usean Continental War to defend Megalith. They weren't part of the 156th TFW, but they had painted their Su-37s in their colors. They were both killed during the Megalith assault, first Jean-Louis, making Gene first-in-command, and later himself. Note: The Su-37 model found in CombatACE and ported from HAWX has a mapping issue, where both wings use the same part of the texture. This means that the left wing is always mirrored from the right wing. Sorry, I can't do anything about it :( Thanks for downloading, and good hunting!
  2. First of all, if anyone wants to help just say it. Any help is appreciated. So, thanks to @Menrva I have YEYEYE's unfinished Su-47, and there are a few things that have to be done. -First, the pylons. The external ones share the texture with the internal weapons bay ones. That should be corrected with the fake pilot method. Not a particularly big thing. -Then, the cockpit. Making one is well beyond the scope of what I can do, and a Flanker cockpit can be used. I haven't been able to find real pics anyway so there's some leeway here. I think it's similar to the Su-27SM pit. -Flight model, here there's a lot of leeway as there doesn't seem to be any kind of documentation of what this flew like. I guess I can leave this mostly untouched until the end. Also, it does seem fairly good right now. I haven't had the time to fly it extensively but it didn't feel off. -And thrust vectoring, did the real Su-47 have TVC? I don't know, but if there's an actual animation then we might as well use it. That's the main stuff. I'm thinking of making various variants, such as the original prototype, unarmed with the black skin, then an operational version, armed with various camos, an upgraded one, etc. Also I'm making a template so there's going to be a lot of freedom in this department. Anyway this is all for now. I'll post pics if you guys want. PD: Menrva has also given me YEYEYE's X-32. It's fine, except it's not mapped. Maybe it could be textured with decals...? Anyone interested about this?
  3. F-20 Tigershark: Risky business Part 2

I see. Don't worry, we all make mistakes! So, then the wing would have been very similar if not the same as the standard one except for the flaps. I still wonder how amazing the fourth F-20 would have been to fly if the other three were already as good as some people say.
  4. F-20 Tigershark: Risky business Part 2

Are there any concept images of how the fourth larger prototype would have looked like? It's safe to assume it would have been similar to how the F-16 and F-2 are very similar except the wings are larger (along other things), right?
  5. I have tried using 3D editors many times long ago but I just can't do it. For some reason there's some bit of fundamental knowledge that keeps escaping me. I will have to try again, specially know that I'm doing this but for the time being a fuel tank will have to do for now. Thanks though!
  6. Yeah, I also doubt anything will match the hole exactly, but it'll probably be better than having the entire pitot tube. I didn't think about using a fuel tank, thanks for the idea!
  7. I need a little help folks. First, the pitot tube thing at the nose, well I wanted to remove it for the "operational" variants, but that leaves a small hole. Does anyone know where can I find a small cone to put there with FakePilot? This is just a minor issue and to be honest leaving the flight test pitot wouldn't bother me that much, but the more atention to detail the better. And second, and this is the important issue, the mapping of the bottom of the elevators is done incorrectly, and it's cut off. The weird thing that gives me a bit of hope is that on the left elevator there's a bit that's cut off but is painted anyway, I assume that there's nothing to do here and I'll have to use decals to fix that, right? Other than this I only need to put the rivets and weathering and the template will be done. If anyone's interested in it and wants to start skinning just say it. I haven't worked on the .inis, though. Tomorrow at the latest I'll start on them.
  8. Yeah, I know that. The model is pretty good though, not finished but good enough. The whole thing won't be 100% finished, but at least it will be better than what it is now.
  9. Yeah, the decals on the X-32 are messed up. I can't edit the post though so just ignore that people. And the pylons... I totally knew that and I totally didn't scratch my head for 10 minutes thinking how I was going to get it working properly... Thanks!
  10. F-16XL: A great idea at the wrong time

Very interesting. I personally don't like the look of the F-16s that much, but the XL is one of my favourite aircraft. It's sad to see it was that close to becoming a reality. Maybe GD should have offered it themselves for export as Northrop with the F-20.
  11. Is it because they weren't able to contact YEYEYE? If it's not that, and if you don't mind of course, I can take a look, see if I can do something about it. But isn't that an achievement? ;)
  12. Holy crap, it's so not the same thing... Such a pity he didn't finish it.
  13. There are multiple Su-47s? I honestly thought there were only two released; the one by YEYEYE (the one I'm pretty sure I have) and the one in the A-Team site (originally by Alphasim for FSX) which couldn't be more broken. I do remember reaching YEYEYE's site and downloading his Su-47, then seeing that it was the same I had (the one I sent to myself). What I also remember is that the one I got from YEYEYE's site only had the black skin, while the one I have has both the black skin and a camo one. Maybe the one I have, and the one available here are an even earlier version? Also at the time I was 12 at most, if the differences aren't huge then it's 100% likely I was mistaken. Really, please upload a screenshot because I am very curious about it. Well, we are in two weeks land!
  14. It is the same model. I have YEYEYE's (I knew that was his name... hahaha) and I just checked with LOD Viewer and indeed, same animations, same everything.
  15. You're going to have to create the template yourself. It's pretty easy, just redraw the panel lines and you're done. Actually if you want I can try to do it myself. Contacting the creator in this case would be pretty hard because the website where the Su-47 came from hasn't been updated in years and the user (whose name I don't remember right now) I haven't seen in an equally long time.
  16. Well, the N-156 family of aircraft make up the entirety of my top 5 favourite aircraft list. And I have a few questions about them, and although I could probably just spend some 15 minutes and google them I'd like to have the answers directly from you who most likely have worked with these sexy jets. So, going through images of the Swiss Air Force F-5E/Fs, I noticed that the centerline pylon is always present. It's as if it was fixed, like the wingtip pylons. The same goes for USN aggressor F-5Ns and actually every single image I can remember of pretty much every variant except the T-38, F-20 and X-29. In fact, I've only seen one image of Freedom Fighters/Tiger IIs where there was no centerline pylon present, it was a civilian F-5A. Is it actually fixed or semi-fixed, thus making it a waste of time to remove it, or is it something else...? I personally really dislike empty underside pylons, so it's disappointing to see that there's no image available of a truly clean F-5E. Also, does anyone know how is it that the Swiss Air Force F-5s have the F-20 LERX, and the nosecone of one of the F-20 prototypes (the one with the completely glass canopy)? I haven't been able to get information about this and I'm really curious. And the final one, how come only these two modifications from the F-20, the LERX and the nosecone made it to other F-5s? The modified canopy comes to mind as something useful (in Ace Combat 5/Zero, where you can "check six" from the cockpit, the F-20 has better rear visibility than the F-5E, so I assume the same would apply IRL), and also the avionics and glass cockpit, they should be compatible with at least F-5Es, right? Was it because they came too late? Or too early? Thanks for your time!
  17. A few questions about the F-5s

Oh. I was very surprised there! But then a retrofit would be easy, right? Kind of like swapping the nosecone, the mounting points should remain the same. Visually, at least, the rear part of the canopy does seem fairly similar if not the same. But then again as you said it probably wasn't needed enough (if there was even an improvement with it) to actually replace them.
  18. A few questions about the F-5s

I missed your post somehow... Thank you for the page!
  19. A few questions about the F-5s

44% larger? I thought the front fuselage wasn't that modified. And, yeah, I do know about the upgraded F-5s. Just seemed suprising that there weren't any factory upgrades, but, yeah, if some of these countries had the money at the time they'd have gone for F-16s or F-18s instead. Thanks!
  20. So, long story short, I'd like to have the old F-104 sound from SF1, but I can't install my copy of the game. Does anyone have it? Or is there any mod than includes it? I'd check myself but there are just too many. I assume that it can be shared, right? Or, if not, any similar sound somewhere else? I just need that high-pitched howl. Thanks in advance.
  21. Well, nevermind, I managed to install the game, and I have the sound I needed. I guess the thread should be closed now.
  22. Yes, made by Dels IIRC. Also, may I ask... where does that Me-262 HGIII come from?
  23. Seeing this makes me wonder if it's possible to make a backwards firing missile... I think I may try to do it myself. Nice job on your AC skins, by the way. So that I'm not 100% off-topic...
